Watching these games makes it so apparently how much more closed up of a game the WCHA is. There's no way that 2-on-1 would have happened in the WCHA because the guy driving down the ice (can't remember his name) would have been interfered with before getting anywhere, and there would have been no call.

No doubt.

If the WCHA called the games like the Intl, it would really separate the league, which is probably what the league doesn't want. The UAA, MTU, MSUM, etc of the league would really be lower-tiered when compared to the UND, UW, DU, UMN, etc.

The talent from those teams would be allowed to actually skate instead of being tackled for the game, which would really allow them to shine offensively.

Imagine how well UND would do with the talent they recruit if they could play in a league where they don't have the oppostion hanging all over them. I was watching RPI and MSU last night and the RPI players were used to the EZAC refs and were in the box all night. The CCHA refs called all of the little stuff the tugs, holds and obstruction. I can't imagine if the WCHA refed that way. There would not be the parity there is today. The WCHA would look like the CCHA as well.
