Goon Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Nice goal for the USA by McRae (sp)... 1-1... Quote
dakotadan Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 It'll be interesting to see if both teams can keep up this speed and intensity. Good quick answere by the US. Quote
Goon Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 He probably wasn't totally set. A Canada player interfered with him when he was trying to get back into the net after playing the puck behind the net. Yeah there was a lot of people around the net. Quote
brianvf Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I like how the US is playing so far. Very quick and getting more quality chances than CAN IMO. Can they keep it up? Quote

Goon Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I thought USA could have gotten the lead but they blew a few opportunities. Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Schroeder with a shorty to take the lead!! USA Leads 2-1 Quote
brianvf Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Schroeder with a shorty to take the lead!! USA Leads 2-1 Great tape to tape pass from Johnson I believe on the boards. Quote
Goon Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Number 22 for team USA just checked a Canadian player over the boards into the bench. Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Canada scores to tie the game. Just under 8 minutes left in the 2nd. And Kreider just drew a HUGE penalty. Another penalty shot!! And he missed. Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Allen just stopped another clean breakaway. This is not good. A confident goaltender is hard to beat. Quote
brianvf Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 How many odd man rushes will Canada give the US? They need to bury those... Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 How many odd man rushes will Canada give the US? They need to bury those... Shorthanded, too! Gotta make at least one more of those count. Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Shorthanded 2-on-1!!! USA leads 3-2!!! Scored with 11 seconds left in the 2nd period. Quote
brianvf Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 End of 2nd period. 3-2 USA What a great game so far. Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Watching these games makes it so apparently how much more closed up of a game the WCHA is. There's no way that 2-on-1 would have happened in the WCHA because the guy driving down the ice (can't remember his name) would have been interfered with before getting anywhere, and there would have been no call. No doubt. If the WCHA called the games like the Intl, it would really separate the league, which is probably what the league doesn't want. The UAA, MTU, MSUM, etc of the league would really be lower-tiered when compared to the UND, UW, DU, UMN, etc. The talent from those teams would be allowed to actually skate instead of being tackled for the game, which would really allow them to shine offensively. Imagine how well UND would do with the talent they recruit if they could play in a league where they don't have the oppostion hanging all over them. I was watching RPI and MSU last night and the RPI players were used to the EZAC refs and were in the box all night. The CCHA refs called all of the little stuff the tugs, holds and obstruction. I can't imagine if the WCHA refed that way. There would not be the parity there is today. The WCHA would look like the CCHA as well. Quote
