Goon
Parise with a goal and an assist in tonights Devils/Flyers game. Zajac with an assist. Devils lose to end their road winning streak at 9, and their win streak at 8. EDIT: Looks like they took Zajac's assist away. I watched the end of that game and they almost end up with a big fight after Parise's goal in front of the Philly Goal.
Siouxdonyms
I watched the end of that game and they almost end up with a big fight after Parise's goal in front of the Philly Goal. Yeah. Langenbrunner fell right on Emery and started hitting him. Then Richards made his way to Langenbrunner. Thought they'd go, but nothing really happened. Langenbrunner showed the Devils frustration throughout the night, as the Flyers pretty much bottled up the Devils throughout the game. They were a step ahead of them all night. Goon
By the way, I heard Jack Edwards is now the commentator for the Boston Bruins. Is that true? If so, it couldn't be a better fit. That guy is the world's biggest Boston homer. You show Jack a picture of any Boston sports team, logo, or sports player and he'll just about cream his shorts. It's hilarious how they say that job is an "elite few" when so many are completely and utterly incompetent. Comeon now... Jack Edwards is awesome and the annoucer for the Boston Bruins on NESN. I am not sure why being a homer is crime for some people.

jodcon
I am not sure why being a homer is crime for some people. Nothing wrong with being a homer, heck we're all homers! Problem is when you become such a homer that your guys can do no wrong and every call against you is a conspiracy, then you've gone over the edge. Goon
To answer the last two poster I don't think Jack Edwards is a lunatic. I watch 65-70 Bruins games every year on my hockey package and I like the guy.
mikejm
Bob McKenzie is reporting that the Blackhawks are close to signing Jon Toews and Patrick Kane to five year extensions, worth around $6,000,000 per year each. Nice!

redwing77
Might be a good time to hit up Jonathan about an endowment fund donation, aye? My library is so low on funds that we can't even afford the $100 to purchase shelf labels so the kids can find books easier. I also have about $5,000 of books that need replacing but I can't purchase. Oh Johnny! (and, yes, I'm dead serious about those numbers even though I'm not going to go pan handling Johnny for money)
siouxforce19
My only question is where is the cap room, I was under the impression they didn't have any. I would guess they will be letting some other players go. There are several players that are rumored to be on the trading block. If the Blackhawks wanted to keep their big 3 (Toews, Kane and Keith) they knew they'd have to sacrifice some other players.
82SiouxGuy
My only question is where is the cap room, I was under the impression they didn't have any. My guess is that the new contracts would be arranged so that there is no affect on the cap for this year, whether they have to trade players or even if they have to wait for final signatures until after the season ends. They will make whatever moves needed by the time the season starts next year.

Keith is rumored to be getting a new deal too; I think I read the 'hawks are going to give him a 13-year deal! Kane's money will be a little more than Toews. Sharp will go before Seabrook. Heard it here first. (okay, probably not) The talk about the Hawks core players has to include Seabrook, along with the 3 mentioned already. I'm not entirely sure Kane's deal is going to be more than Toews. That might just be speculation, and if it is I doubt it's much more. I'd expect their deals to be pretty similar. They have the same agent. (maybe that doesn't matter, but if it was me...)
Ray77
Obviously not a former Sioux, but didn't know where else to put this. Fargo native and ex-Gopher Irmen called up by Wild for possible debut

DAR
Good for Danny. That is too bad. I was hoping that jersey popper would never see an NHL sheet of ice. Hopefully they send him right back to Houston after tonight's game. Never could stand that guy at all.
redwing77
Not related to UND or even college hockey, but... The Red Wings just got Don Adam'd. Red Wing Brad May (yeah, not the best player in the world but still...) shoots a backhand that CLEARLY goes in the net. However, the official LaRue, calls it NO GOAL because he intended to blow the whistle or the whistle blew the play dead even though the replay clearly shows the whistle being blown long after the puck ended up in the net. No review. Greg Shepherd just took notice. I think LaRue will end up an official in the WCHA once the NHL gets tired of him.

I went to school with the guy give me a break I like to see former WCHA'ers do well in the NHL. Makes our beloved conference look better and better with each player finding success.
