When Notre Dame was down by two vs. BC, I tried to assure my friends that it was still possible because the Caps had come back from being down two in the third vs. Philly on Friday night. One of the dumbest articles I've read...ever He received a nice email from me Your Shakespearean poetry in the article about the Minnesota Wild leads me to believe you aren't someone who can appreciate the art of hockey. It's quite sad that someone who is supposed to report the news has to take out their anger for their team's misfortunes by writing an article ripping on the Wild, who dominated the whole game last night, both skillfully and physically. Your article is very similar to the one you wrote in 2003, which was also an epic failure. Attempts at being a cry baby show how truly hockey ignorant you are and I hope this article is only meant to sell papers, not something that can be seen as your serious opinion. Clearly the Denver Post is a terrible excuse for a newspaper if they are publishing "articles" like this that make a complete mockery of something that the writer has absolutely zero knowledge on. Along with all the garbage Avs fans I have seen, looks like just another one who boos and complains about everything, including things such as icing and offsides. Never have I seen a fanbase that fully disagrees and boos every single penalty on their home team, it says a lot about your team and fans, both a total joke. Apparently you don't have time to address the Wild fans who call you out, but have a nice day and enjoy watching the Wild go up 3-1 on your home ice while pounding your team up and down the ice again in our typical "thug" fashion. 2nd round here we come! tnt Posted April 18, 2008 Share Posted April 18, 2008 Being a Bruins fan, I am unlike Michael Vick in that I have no dog in this fight, but it seems odd that the same people that decry the Sioux, have no problem with a tough guy style of play when it comes to the Wild. The thing about the Sioux was that every game that people complained about the Sioux being rough, the Sioux won, and were responding to what they perceived as cheap shots. On the other hand, the Wild responded out of frustration, with some dangerous runs at their opponent. Not saying that the Avs are completely blameless in the series, but I just find it fascinating that virtually every gopher fan is crazy about Boogard, even though he isn't much of an offensive threat. Rangers won the series 4-1, and during the post series handshakes, Avery and Brodeur came upon each other in the line and didnt even look at one another. No handshake either. No doubt the Wild were out of Tuesday's playoff game early when the Colorado Avalanche took a 5-0 lead, but Glen Sonmor said he wondered why somebody on the Wild didn't go after the Avalanche's Cody McLeod and Ian Laperriere and ring their necks. "They had been running at [Marian] Gaborik and [Pavol] Demitra, and after the whistle, all kinds of things," said Sonmor, the former Gophers and North Stars coach and now a scout for the Wild. "[Wild enforcer Derek] Boogaard's saying, 'Well if they [didn't have] the instigator rule, they wouldn't get away with this kind of stuff.'" The instigator rule calls for the player starting a fight without his opponent's willingness to participate to get an instigating minor penalty, a major for fighting and a ten-minute misconduct. Continued Sonmor: "Well, I don't want to be critical, but what is the instigator rule going to harm you when you're losing 5-0 in the third period? "I was waiting for [McLeod and Laperriere] to get called to account. But now they seem to invite each other to fight. If the guy doesn't want to fight, then they don't fight. If that guy's doing that kind of stuff to Gaborik and to those guys, you don't ask him whether he wants to fight, you tell him, 'When they drop the puck, I'm going to clobber you and that's it.'" That faceguarding stunt he pulled during Game 3 was the most bush-league hockey tactic I have ever seen with the puck still in play. I don't blame Martin a bit for not shaking his hand. The Veilleux checking from behind on Av's player Paul Stasny was a questionable hit and you could call it dirty, however, the action did not warrant anything more than a 5 minute penatly in my opinon.
