  1. China hasn’t moved democratically one iota except allowing two children before forced abortions. Still have slave labor, still monitor all their citizens on the internet much worse than Facebook, still are militaristic, and have two classes of citizens as the poor peasants and their descendants can’t get a moving permit. It has taken facism one step further with the communists benefitting most. But guess that’s what you want with more government control.
  2. My hunch is that he’ll ask you and bison51and jacksfan, and then go trolling and to a sausage festival together.
  3. UAV software companies are already in Fargo, so Fargo is already sharing in developing UAV technology. Elbot wants to be near private companies for their input. Any bit of business that would have gone to California anyway is a win for ND. The first UAV center for the military was in CA. Grand Sky's main purpose is for defense, that why the Pentagon allowed it. Other UAV companies have offices in Minot. Guess you want the jobs in Fargo and Minot shuttered?
  4. The cynical part of me believes that this is a setup for the new School Superintendent. There are some easy cuts and he will be a hero to everybody soon after he starts his job.
  5. The main reason that EMU's name is recognizable is FBS. They would have to drop the sport to get any savings, because at FCS would lose more money. Dropping FBS would mean getting thrown out of the MAC and losing out on conference payouts. UND is strangely at the same sports make after cutting more than twice what was needed.
  6. You perhaps don't realize that being on the GFAFB, especially research and development and some operations and training, is often for classified people, per Pentagons order. Foreign firms often cant get an OK for their people or company, as they don't want Israeli or Russian or any foreign national on base. When I worked on a military installation that had strict security, anyone even interviewing needed to be accompanied everywhere as their was confidential material all over. As per normal, just making mountains out of molehills.
  7. The NDSU women sports that locals play are s**t shows, and no locals that are good want to play there. The Shanley gal probably isn’t even getting a scholarship and will almost assuredly redshirt. Pryor has a much higher bar than NDSU can even imagine now.
  8. VB needs quite a few matches to get their chemistry and timing down. That’s especially true after loosing a setter like Griffin and a all around player like Merseli. Dooley is obviously a big loss too. How well the UConn and Finnish attackers fit in will be a huge question mark. This team just needs to be constantly improving through the Summit tournament.
  9. Merely transferred the FBS intentions over to the Summit with the Montanas and Idaho. That would solve all the Summit structural problems. The WAC can even offer the Summit FBS status for football by affiliation by rule with them for a year if the P5 have a problem with it. The G5 would raise hell but can’t stop it.
  10. Far from an NDSU fan, but comparing them to the NAZI’s before WWI is rather rich and overboard, to say the least. None of their athletic teams except fb even win now.
  11. Would have voted for Fighting Ferrets if it was on the ballot. Ferrets are natural predators for Gopher.
  12. A pipeline was going to in or major Bakken companies were going to withdraw and invest elsewhere. Railing it just costs too much. Didnt see those Standing Rock protestors protesting oil by rail, which is much more risky. They just wanted to give the white (and Asian) man a kick in the posterior. If there was Russian collusion anywhere, there is ample evidence the Russians and even the Saudis helped extol the “virtues” protestors on Facebook and other alternative media to protect their own oil interests.
  13. Snazzy is up with architectural glass or something. Reflective or colored glass would do wonders for it, like creating an external statement that there is something wonderful to behold inside.
  14. You consistently show that you are clueless about conference politics, as if a Sioux Falls tournament is the be all and end all for all schools. That's why it’s comical. Calfifornia is an important market to DU because it can market itself more there, and there are plenty of kids that don’t need much financial aid or scholarships. DU should have more Californians than it does as it would raise its average incoming SAT and be very cost effective. One of the reason that CU wanted in the PAC10 is because there get many Californians to pay full out-of-state tuition. That number has only increased because the UC system is so hard to get into. BYU isn’t charged tor the WCC, so why would DU? DU has previously applied for the WCC but were rejected because BYU was out there. Now the WCC needs a travel partner for BYU if the Zags leave. The Big West offered a while back to take DU if it paid travel fees like Boise St and Hawaii as the Big West is a low budget league for travel, i.e. a bus league. Western Illinois is not a school that most Presidents want to associate with, because it really doesn’t deliver academics, research or a large metro. They have a fine criminal justice department that is well respected, but that isn’t worth a hill of beans to academically minded Presidents. WIU is the only school left from the original Mid Con because other conferences do not find it desirable so it’s been passed over for 40years while everybody else got the h*ll out. EIU got out and into the OVC because it saw the writing on the wall and realized the OVC had schools much like it. When talking about enrollment, every student is different, but skiing is a big draw to attract students to Colorado. So doesnt DU have a skiing program? It’s not like DU practices in a local city park. Our former UND President Schafer has an MBA at DU, but that doesn’t mean that DU will mount an all out enrollment effort in ND, because there are simply much better areas to do that in. The Dakotas simply don’t have metro areas with large swathes of suburbs with affluent kinds. DU’s affiliate lacrosse membership likely caused a bigger increase in East Coast students just because of awareness that DU is an option than any thing the Summit offers. DU was willing to pay $2 million a year to get into the MWC and yet you insist that DU will stay the course? When DU joined the Summit, the news was very much down played by their admin, like they didn’t want to broadcast an embarrassment. Contrast that when DU joined the still intact WAC, it was a real campus celebration because their admin thought DU had hit the big time in a western conference.
  15. Chester Fritz Auditorium, with its prefabbed concrete exterior, is an eyesore that is more proper in an industrial park than on campus. Very much in favor of keeping it, with upgrades internal and external. It such a shame work hasn’t been done sooner. Maybe use the Corwin and Larimore Hall bricks to snazzy up the outside.
  16. The following has no bearing on UND, so posters like Southpaw shouldn’t get their panties in a wad over it. UALR announced at the NCAA wrestling meet that they are adding men’s wrestling. A businessman was apparently offering several Arkansas DI teams to add the sport and UALR was the only one that took the money. The same person has helped start wrestling all around the state, so now Arkansas has over 200 HS’s that sponsor it. http://lrtrojans.com/news/2018/3/17/athletics-little-rock-announces-addition-of-wrestling-program.aspx No word yet what conference they will affiliate with. The Big 12 is right next door, even with the XDSU’s, UNI, and UNC, and the SoCon offers it with lesser programs. What makes this interesting is that UALR has a FBS feasibility study that will be issued soon. Adding wrestling just makes the Title IX situation all the more difficult if they add football.
  17. This is one of the comical posts ever. W Illinois is such a big TV game for Chicago suburbs, NOT. The Twin Cities are absolutely enthralled by SDSU-DU games, not. DU costs like $65,000 a year for undergrads and half its undergrads we’re in the top 10% of their HS and that far exceeds Summit schools. Their acceptance rate is high because mostly just wealthy parents have their with top achieving kids apply there where they can go skiing on weekends. The NCHC is a much bigger deal in Minnesota than the Summit ever was and that’s what DU cares about. The Dakotas are not big producers of DU students, but that is where half the Summit will be. You posted this when the hockey team had its biggest game of the year, but yet you never post anything meaningful. We are supposed to bow down to you because your an AFA athletics peon and have so much knowledge. Your posts are the biggest jokes ever. Never have I seen you post a meaningful realignment mean link, but always criticize. Perhaps news is too much to handle for your brain?
  18. I don’t listen to politicians much because they so want more government control, especially on one side of the aisle. I prefer business type visionaries, because the things they want actually will end up working.
  19. Think it would Bismarck, but Fargo is possible. But even if it happens, UND Med School would be preferable for years. It would likely be an Osteopathic Med School for UMary, which is cheaper. The same goes for a law school. UMary can start one anytime. State U’s can’t.
  20. Have already stated that UMary is a school to watch out for. They increase medical programs all over the state and enroll kids in engineering where they finish out at UND. This is only the beginning and they don’t have a legislature putting limits on them.
  21. Always try to look at conference affiliation from a Presidents eyes. Denver gets many of its students from California, not from the Dakotas. The Summit actually decreases enrollment for them as it doesn’t increase awareness in California. It has very good soccer, Vb, and lax programs which appeal to west coast kids. Hockey will still be in the NCHC. The WCC is almost all private and elite which DU is. The move is a slam dunk for Denver if they get invited. Think Kennedy and Omaha already know if they are gone.
  22. A story out of Terre Haute: http://www.tribstar.com/sports/todd-aaron-golden-mvc-needs-to-be-aggressive-and-get/article_7395c85f-d8c2-5e76-bdfb-af68beb9ae4e.html Within it, Elgin is quoted the MVC wouldn’t expand for 2018-2019. Murray St would be the most natural school to make the MVFC to 12, so it make sense that Murray and it’s fb will be delayed to arrive the same season as UND. Changing fb schedules at this late date lead to headaches. Murray St and UALR to the MVC for 2019-20, and announced in a couple months is my best guess. Murray St fans were 75% of the crowd at the OVC tournament, and that speaks money to Arch Madness.
  23. But NDSU is in the Summit, so nothing bad will ever happen to the Summit while they are in the league.. NDSU supposedly has a Big12 offer when they get a 60k stadium, is along the lines of what Moser would say. The Summit could only then be doomed once NDSU has left.
  24. So when Gonzaga announces their move to the MVC, Denver might be the top choice for the WCC. The Summit will be crying out for another school(s). The Summit League and Kennedy better have a plan. Confident that they do.
  25. Most conferences share equally among members in their Big Dance revenue. Once you are a participating member, you get an equal share, even from games that occurred before membership occurred. If a conference member leaves, they forever forfeit their share, even if they were the team responsible for part of it. The one exception is ihat if a conference disbands, the teams that had a bid or won get all the money from that year. Some conferences give bigger portions to the teams that got bids or dance wins, but that is an exception. Haven’t heard that the Summit does it that way. UND will be getting more from the Summit than the Big Sky because the Summit has fewer teams and one NDSU win added slightly to the pot.
