In order to have the least bit of hope in NCAA postseason, need to be absolutely smoking bottom Summit teams, and last year there were many Big Sky teams that were obliterated. Women’s Volleyball is one of the least upset prone sports there is - things can change over the season as the timing, personnel and strategy gets better, but the ratings generally are very good predictors. Generally, a team within 50 rankings of you (out of 330 DI schools) should be very competive, but outside that the match should be a pushover unless there is a major change in strategy or personnel. It’s not like Basketball where in one game a team can shoot very efficiently or football, where in one game the QB throws a ton of INT’s. To play a poor team close almost always means that your team is also poor. But of course it probably doesn’t matter as we’d get the gophers in the NCAA first round and USD would get Nebraska. Those two schools would have to fall from the power teams (top 16) for that to change.

UND - University of Northern Colorado Game Day Thread
SiouxVolley replied to SiouxFan100's topic in Football
Washington is smoking #20 BYU 35-0 after 3. BYU has beaten Wisconsin. With the Idaho St big win over NAU and the Sam Houston OT win, the past schedule strength is looking better with every passing week. Idaho St may actually be the second most powerful Big Sky team now, passing Weber St, with more results. -
Won 3-0 vs SDSU 4-1 in conference, but those 4 wins are against the weakest conference teams. In the write up for the ORU game, Pryor said that Fraase really took on the leadership role to come back from a 2-1 set deficit. Leadership has seemed to be missing on the court prior to today.
-
If this team struggles against SDSU at home, there are major unresolved issues. NDSU swept them today.
-
Wins the 5th set, 15-8. Now 11-8 on the year. Next game SDSU.
-
Lose 3rd set 25-21. Win 4th set 25-18.
-
UND tied after two with Oral Roberts. UND was ahead in the second set 24-18, but ORU scored seven straight and then won it 30-28. ORU is only 3-11 coming into the match,

It looks like the era of the public paying for pro football stadiums is over. San Diego refused to be held hostage as did St Louis, Los Angeles only got their teams because the Rams owner payed billions in private money to build one, and this article says Winnipeg’s new stadium will be paid for by Manitoba by default. https://deadspin.com/manitoba-admits-it-got-conned-gives-up-on-winnipegs-cf-1829362769 Las Vegas will be getting a new Raiders stadium partially from taxpayers, but much of the financing will come from casinos, as the hotels/casinos constantly need new flashy entertainment options to keep people coming back again.

A new WIH conference will launch in the northeast with Sacred Heart, LIU-Brooklyn and 4 DII schools. https://www.uscho.com/2018/09/26/newha-announces-intent-to-be-recognized-as-ncaa-national-collegiate-womens-hockey-conference/

Contractually, have to go to Ut Valley because of our home game last year. UTRGV is part of the WAC/Summit challenge, which will go on. UTRGV may not have to schedule in GF, but the WAC will. Montana St and Idaho are part of the limited (four teams each) Big Sky/Summit challenge. Montana and E Wash may be substitituted next year.

UND picked last for the Summit by Zimmer. https://www.argusleader.com/story/blogs/mattzimmer/2018/09/27/zims-preseason-summit-league-mens-basketball-ballot/1424476002/

There are about 125 schools in FCS. About 25 should consider FBS based on their academics and monetary situation. Of the 129 FBS schools, 20 of them have moved up from FCS in the last 20 years, so the 25 move up candidates are entirely reasonable. But you as a stupid troll don’t even seem to know that CWU is a DII school. But everything will always stay the same according to you.

The attendance was 2401. Guess the excitement over last year’s team has settled down.

The nine aces for NDSU stand out, including the last 2 pts of the final 6 pt run of the 4th set for NDSU. The 13 service errors for UND is unacceptable. Almost as if this team was more nervous than SU. Brynn Neukirk had 20.5 pts which is very strong for a freshman. Mauch and Hegerle and other young players give NDSU give it a decent core for the future. NDSU had been so pathetic in the recent past.

That was said here by many about Vermillion and Brookings, but they have never fessed up that they were wrong. CWU wants more Seattle metro kids and DI is one way to get more awareness.

Kennedy vs. Engelstad Foundation: GF herald feature

The new screens will help insure that fans have a wonderful experience. The Alerus and Betty have done similar things. Getting fans to pay for ticket is one of the most prudent opportunities. -
ND High School Hockey 2017-18

So West Fargo voted 71% yes on the third HS scheduled to open in 2021. http://www.inforum.com/news/education/4504542-west-fargo-voters-overwhelmingly-approve-1069-million-bond-fund-new-schools In a few shorts years, the ND side of the FM area will go from 3 to 6 large HS. -
Aren’t there immigrants from Nepal if GF? While it’s not exactly Indian food, but close, someone should sponsor a restaurant with that cuisine. There are several chefs around here that whip up Indian food in a buffet style at a Whole Foods knockoff and those chefs are not Indian.

OneOK just announced another large natural gas plant at Demicks Lake, McKenzie County, costing $410 million and will be called Demicks Lake II plant. The Demicks Lake I plant won’t be operational until fall of 2019, so the construction crews will have a job to do next door. McKenzie County now has the majority of activity in the Bakken including 12 large gas plant and these new gas plants are needed to process the record gas streams being produced. https://compressortech2.com/new-gas-ngl-system-expansions-planned/ Ethane has been increasing in value so it will be interesting to see when most of the ethane in the natural gas gets separated and sold to a chemical manufacturer. Hess has an ethane pipeline to Alberta already in use.

Goon and his stupid pill again. Mafia man seems to take it too. Never said UND will be a force in the P5, but in the G5 it could be quite competitive. Idaho won a bowl game almost 18 months ago by golly, gave the Sun Belt and MWC teams fits and it still has mostly FBS players doing horribly against FCS schools.
-
What’s with the schedule delay? Is it because Mayville and Valley City are having trouble with their dates? Practically all DI schools have their schedules published.
-
The Argus Leader has its Summit League predictions out. SDSU and USD are favorites of course (and deservedly) but UND is picked fourth. https://www.argusleader.com/story/blogs/mattzimmer/2018/09/25/zims-preseason-summit-league-womens-basketball-ballot/1424052002/

That is why I think Kennedy and Chaves will pursue FBS with regional flagships, but your buddies MafiaMan and Goon will be opposed to every FBS step.

The ND State girls Class B basketball tournament nas been moved from the Alerus to the Betty for lack of attendance. http://www.wday.com/sports/basketball/4502324-class-b-girls-basketball-tournament-moving-betty
