With UConn in, Hockey East would probably have to add another team as well as URI (Syracuse anyone?). URI would likely be added to Atlantic Hockey, being that URI's rink seat only 2000. But nice to see alumni insisting on a feasibility study. http://www.bossicearena.com/overview.aspx

If Dooley can ever be a reliable server, watch out. She'd be able to play more, have more blocks and kills, and teams seem to get on runs when she's out of the lineup for a designated server. E Wash was better than I thought. They have some hitters with height. Anna Pioske didn't play much and apparently very well. Fontes played admirably in her place. Is Pioske hurt?

That's been UND's dream for decades, but when I state that in a thread, NDSU fans get all up in arms. Add E Wash and UCDavis subtract Idaho St and it will become reality if the NCAA allows conference FBS moveups. But when NDSU fans state that they want to go to Big12, I'm not supposed to call them on it for being totally delusional?
-
I hope Midco doesn't sign SU. UND likes the coverage of Midco and doesn't need to share it with NDSU.

Bison rubes just don't get the difference between satire and serious comments, do you. If Texas left the Big 12, it definitely wouldn't be for the SEC. They won't follow A&M to a lower level academic conference: too much pride. But they would go to a blue blood conference like the B1G or Pac12. The Big 12 would backfill then, but it would be schools like Houston, Cincinnati, Memphis, UCF, or USF. Took me to call total BS on this post before a bison fan even called him on it.

For comic and delusional reading, bisonville currently takes the cake. There is currently a thread about how NDSU should be readying itself for not just any FBS league, but the Big 12. That is so beyond preposterous that it wouldn't even make Bisonville's most preposterous statements thread. North Dakota would have to throw its entire budget and surplus for ten years at NDSU to build a 50000 seat stadium, to build a 15000 BB arena, to build up the faculty with serious research credentials, to build up their grad schools, and to build a second state med school in order for NDSU to even enter the realm of outlier possiblities. Most of the student base now wouldn't get in. Fargo suburbs would have to extend from Wahpeton to Hillsboro for ND's population to work. Yet many of the villers are drinking that koolaid and believing NDSU's land grant status will grant them P5 status. Land grant hurts, rather than helps, as most research schools don't take agricultural research seriously. Its the reason that Nebraska was expelled from the AAU: too ag dependent in research. NDSU has no shot at the Big 12. Nada. Its like a negative odds, an imaginary number with the i. Their must be a statistics course that figures odds for the delusional dumbsh*ts there, but that level of delusionality hasn't been discovered before. Football indeed has serious repercussions on the brain. The only case for NDSU in the existing FBS is the Sun Belt, and that's on the order of 0.1%. The Sun Belt could need a member if it doesn't get a satisfactory answer out of JMU or Mo St, but it would still be as an affiliate and NDSU would probably have to pay travel costs and agree to stay for 10 years so they couldn't bolt and go independent like UMass did. Bizon fans just can't stand the idea of an FBS Big Sky. That is where NDSU's destiny is.

The fact that UND beat out higher level programs in the Atlantic 10 (LaSalle), CUSA (WKy), and MVC (Drake, UNI) for Seals is a very significant accomplishment. Getting Seals may help recruiting even more. Before, we would go up against other Sky teams and Slummit members for recruits. The coaching staff is doing a really fine job recruiting. Maybe losing some assistant coaches wasn't such a bad deal.

That is a HUGE commit for BB.

We've never had a sharpshooter at the D1 level! Welcome, Adam.

Just get a yard built outside GF for industrial development. Land further west of town is perfect, as most of is alkaline.

OneOK announces their 10th natural gas plant, this one in NW Dunn county. Each plant averages about $400 mill to build and OneOK will have processing capability for 1.2 billion cfd in North Dakota, which is world class for a gas field. Although OneOK doesn't cover Mountrail County (Hess and a couple others provide gas processing there), the gas infrastructure in ND is finally starting to close the gap. But many more plants will have to be built, as the Bakken oil wells increase their natural gas release rate with time. http://www.oneokpartners.com/~/media/ONEOKPartners/ReleaseAttachments/Bakken_BearCreek.ashx

I've probably posted this before, but now is the time that GF needs to work with BNSF to move the railroad yards. A new yard can be west to town and double as an extension of the industrial park. Companies are looking for space now, and railroad access is often a must. Williston, Minot, and Bismarck are building huge RR yards and to my knowledge they are paying off big for those cities. ND has a growing and pent up demand for manufacturing space with RR access. BNSF or a developed could make a fortune redeveloping the land for other purposes: condos, apartments, or even selling land to UND. Leave two or three tracks for current businesses and for access to current RRs.

- See more at: http://www.prairiebizmag.com/event/article/id/20908/#sthash.tXDEyMpq.dpuf NDSU's latest attempt to hone into the Bakken, where UND has a big lead. Dropping Petroleum Engineering major ten years ago has to be one of the all time NDSU boneheaded decisions. The again, they don't have capable instructors in geology or reservoirs. Their geology department is just glorified geology. NDSUs mindset will be good if put to use on a maintenance plan.

Would be nice to get her. Height is so important in VB and she has it. Would be surprised if she didn't get a Big Ten or Big East offer though.

Massey has UND as the fifth rated team in the Big Sky, but those five teams are tightly bunched. But our schedule is favorable we play top rated NAU only at home. NAU only just lost yesterday at NAU. The home games against Idaho, NAU, and N Colo all look to be key. We don't get Idaho St at home. http://www.masseyratings.com/team.php?t=10668&s=265415

Two good things about the offense: Dev Ferguson can be a player if given a chance, and Norberg filled in admirably. With Taj Rich only a sophomore, he'll be relied on in the years ahead. Seemed to be a breakout game for him. Stony Brook is going to get torched in the CAA. It's only the second year for them in that league, but they might have more work cut out for them than Bubba and the crew.
-
That also describes Gene Taylor. Ten players commit fraud against the state, yet he in his infinite wisdom decides they have "suffered enough." Winston commits an act that's in poor taste, and the national press rails against Florida St until they give Winston a more severe punishment. Guess NDSU's athletes are only judged in the lenient Fargo media. If they had a true national media following, the whole NDSU program would have been trashed. It's a good thing NDSU is FCS. Otherwise they would have been rotting bison carcasses.

Moser seems inconsistent, but has a lot of talent and potential. Kaczorowska is only a freshman and she has some tremendous games NDSU and SDSU seem to get Big Ten teams, or at least get invited to their tournaments. You have to be really good to be invited to their tournaments, or just schedule fluff like the SU's seem to be. It would be good to get one tournament with B1G and Big 12 and high MVC teams, and one tournament with WCC, Big West, and Pac12 teams. It would be nice to get Minnesota at the Betty.
-
UND needs more games against WCC and Big West California teams, as most of them are very good. It's matches like Pacific that prepare UND for an eventual entry to the top 50. Dooley and Fraase and Griffin will take UND to new heights over the next three years. Dooley hit for negative percentages, but she'll learn from games like this. Practice can not prepare you well for this level of competition.

BNSF doesn't have enough manpower either, so they have to hire and train. GE is building a new locomotive factory in Fort Worth, with other locomotives coming from Erie. So new locomotives are coming on line. The whole train infrastructure is booming, as builders of railcars are seeing massive orders which were unthinkable before the oil boom. The new standards for Bakken oil railcars will only increase the orders, since most oil railcars will have to be replaced. BNSF is also doubling tracks everywhere where there is a choke point. BNSF is building a second parallel bridge over Lake Pend O'reille in Idaho. That's a huge and very expensive undertaking, but just one choke point. http://missoulian.com/news/state-and-regional/burlington-northern-wants-to-build-nd-bridge-over-lake-pend/article_dd92ebda-3e9f-11e4-bd54-c338e3079947.html It is almost as if the massive railroad building the spurred the economy in the 1880s is reappearing.
-
Husfeldt, Hart, and Dooley didn't play in the MVSU game to keep them fresh for Pacific. Pioske just had time to loosen up a bit. Griffin was in full time as the setter, and Kaczorowska, Robinson, Zietek, and Moser did most of the attack game.

Getting back to the topic: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/09/19/us-ussilica-demand-idUSKBN0HE12P20140919 Meanwhile, Continental Resources has announced that it will increase the sand used per well to get more oil/well. This will increase the costs of a well by 20%, which will increase their capital expenditures by 20%. The market reacted to the good news by sending Continental's stock down nearly 10% yesterday. The market hates when a company spends more capital. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/continental-resources-boosts-2014-capex-222646671.html So next year, North Dakota will effectively see 5000 miles of trains just filled with sand needed for fracking wells. Most of the sand comes from Wisconsin or Iowa, so the railroad will just get busier going east with sand, oil, pipe, and grain. Williston is building a massive train yard east of town to unload all the sand. Sand is like a new gold for fracking. If you invested in sand, you would have made a fortune, because the sand needed for fracking is rare.
