http://www.masseyratings.com/game.php?gid=529026056 Massey has us as underdogs for four remaining games: Iowa (at Brookings) Pacific (at Starkville) at Idaho St at Idaho

Massey is saying UND is the heavy favorite: http://www.masseyratings.com/game.php?gid=529026056

And you are not man enough to take us on in the butthockeys.

They don't have a player that would be on our 2nd string. That's how bad NDSU has fallen as a program.
-
NDSU has only gone 4-17 in their sets they have played, against relatively weak teams. They've only beaten Robert Morris, and probably the only strong team they've played is Cal. UND will beat the pulp out of NDSU on Tuesday. NDSU will be playing well if they score a total of 30 pts in the entire match.
-
Only saw the 2nd half, but the whole offensive unit had bad timing throughout. Everybody seemed a half step off, especially the OL. The RMU DL seemed to be in the off backfield every time, especially on running plays. The OL needs major improvement, and then QB play will improve.

UND beats Tulane again, 3-0. UND is tougher to hit against because of the middle hitter 6'3 Faith Dooley is such a threat to block shots. She's a type of player with height that alters the game that UND hasn't had before. USD has a 6'4 middle too, so they are a difficult adjustment to face.

Fresno St and San Diego St have supposedly been sent feelers by the Big 12. Colo St, UNM, and UNLV would be other possibilities for the Big 12, but much longer shots. If the MWC expands, it will be with North Texas, UTSA, UTEP, and maybe Rice, as the MWC would want Texas schools for recruiting and media. Montana and Idaho have no shot at the MWC, so they know that sticking together and building a league with the most capable of the Big Sky is the only option to go FBS (along with a rule change).

An FCS conference will need a FBS school, so only the Big Sky and maybe the Colonial if they get Army and UMass to join. The MVC has to invite a Sun Belt school with football, so good luck with that. If my lifetime goal is to screw over NDSU, I guess I'm the alter ego of Geno Taylor and his bisonville cheer leaders. But to my credit, have been very successful at devastating NDSU volleyball and w basketball. Wait, that was your women's AD who did that.

The ACC and the Big 12 schools have all granted rights to their broadcasts to their conferences for the next 10 years. That means that no one can move from the ACC or Big 12 until those are up. The Big 10 and the SEC both want a Virginia and NC school to expand their footprint. When those grants of rights expire, it could get interesting. If someone moves now, it might be the American / CUSA / MWC over the next several years. Boise St has kind of lost its luster, and that might be why Peterson left. Otherwise, it will be FCS schools positioning for FBS. A deputy conference commissioner would not say anything if he wants to keep his job. The Big Sky is awaiting new FBS rules, especially in the Idaho case. The NCAA is vulnerable to be sued by Idaho if Idaho cant stay FBS because of conference realignment. The NCAA knows it and will open up a loophole for FCS conferences that have a FBS member. The Colonial may use UMass and Army for the same purpose, to give schools like Delaware, JMU, Towson, Stony Brook, and Albany a shot at FBS.

USD was picked fourth in preseason for the Slummit. Tulane was picked 3rd, behind SMU and UCF, in the American. UND can move up several slot in RPI if the sweep the rest of the matches.
-
USD beat Tulane in three, 25-21, 25-16, and 25-13. UND should be favored, but USD will be tough battles.

Dooley is hitting at a 0.625 pace, with a couple blocks. To think she's only a freshman. Jules Kaczorowska is another freshman that is impressive.

Most attractive building on the NDSU campus. That's the new NDSU indoor practice facility where the football team hangs out.

At least five more years of sustained growth of infrastructure and housing in the Bakken: http://bakken.com/news/id/220590/least-5-years-planned-sustained-growth-expected-bakken/ If natural gas liquids like ethane, propane, and butane find a user that will build locally instead of going to Houston and Alberta, the sustained growth could last for 10 or 15 years.

Saw Drake was 3-0 and Iowa teams are traditionally very good in volleyball. My mistake. Julie K (have to learn to spell that name) and C Moser really jumped to the forefront in kills. Good sign, especially if Pioske is not 100%. UND is very disciplined, as they are setting records on unforced errors. Very good sign.

To a bison fan, character and integrity are only surface qualities. So having a coach that looked like Mr Clean convinced bison fans that he had integrity in spite of the way he didn't suspend them for serious violations. Wearing a wrong hat for their taste says a lot about Schweigert's character, after all, he can't relate to 20 y.o.s ... They are so superficial in their take of UND, its pathetic.

So Gene Taylor and NDSU weren't holding a grudge against USD, even though they did the same as UND? Apparently that we all agree. NDSU even went to bat for USD to get in the MVFC, when they wouldn't do it for UND. Phil Harmeson, as acting AD, said with confidence that UND would get in the Big Sky, but the Fargo media and Bisonville laughed at the thought. Chapman whored NDSU to every conference out there, but got a big break when Valpo left and Chicago St was kicked out of the Slummit. Without those two breaks, the Slummit wouldn't have voted in the SU's, but would only have chosen IPFW. In retrospect, it was obvious that the Big Sky had plans to enter the Dakotas, but only on the Big Sky's timetables. Chapman tried to break down the door uninvited to the Big Sky, and failed. He knew if UND and NDSU both moved to the Big Sky five years later, the REA cash machine and media profile would have been too much for his athletic department, so he decided to make a break for it. In some sports, like women's basketball and volleyball, bisonville fans were exclaiming that their head start would be permanent. Yeah right. Football will be more of a struggle, but we will overcome, just like Roger Thomas.

UND beat a good Drake team in Des Moines, 3-0. (26-24, 25-17, 25-12). UND hit at a .308 clip. Not bad.
-
10+ years of press about not wanting to schedule a UND game by Gene doesn't support anything you say. Kolpack and Izzo would agree with what I say, but they don't want to run against the NDSU admin official line. But UND is happy where they are at and will be even happier when half the Big Sky is FBS. NDSU will have to move then.
-
Taylor wanted to kill UND football off or at least wound it badly, so NDSU's admin didn't go to bat in the MVFC for UND. Simple as that. If NDSU had wanted UND in, they could have greased the skids. Taylor and Chapman chose not to, as they are devious souls. Years later, Taylor was being a complete *sshole about scheduling UND football, so why would he and the NDSU prez's supported UND for the MVFC? SDSU wasn't so strident against USD, and the distance was less the SDSU and NDSU so the other schools could often bus to Vermillion.

UND lost to G Washington 20-25. 17-25, 20-25 . G Wash won their tournament 3-0.
