  1. To me, he would have been in next year’s lineup hands down. I think the issue for him would have been the type of role. He plays more of a top 4/pp role. He may have had a tough time getting top 4/pp minutes...although I would have slotted him in at 4 to start the year. I think there may have been more to the whole situation.
  2. I’ve heard Ness has a super motor and is tough to play against. Pt/gm in the ushl and you got an every nighter.
  3. Good for him...I would have chosen UMD but hey. He needs to play.
  4. I like that lineup. Only change is I’d give caulfied a chance on the second to start the year. He played good there in flashes last year. Also, you have to make the freshman earn it (unless they’re a super high pick like Sanderson). Where’s Budy? Whoa...next years team is loaded.
  5. In Minnesota June’s are held back almost exclusively at my sons age.
  6. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him play top 6 on this team next year. Maybe not right away though. He had his flashes last year but was buried a bit. Year 3, could be a breakout for him. These guys are all still developing, you never know when a player can leapfrog someone else.
  7. He's an elite skater/puck possessor. By far and away the best player on UMD. Did I think Guch had a chance...sure. Was I shocked it was Scotty.....no. Easily the best player in college hockey last year so it is only fitting he gets the award. Now some of his questionable actions/behaviors....I thought Guch could have sniped it away from him.
  8. Weird...wonder why he would have left before last year??? As opposed to play another year of juniors. He was an undrafted true freshman, basically unheard of.
  9. What I’m saying is the player has the option to become a free agent 4 years after their draft year, so teams risk losing the player. So typically teams go all in on signing their players, at the latest, after the 4th year after the players draft year. Unless the player hasn’t developed which is obviously less of a risk.
  10. 4 years after draft year
  11. If miller AND Moore come in next year they’ll push Frisch/Bast hard. Also, what if miller gets drafted before kleven?
  12. Again, if miller goes by the end of the third he’ll be playing college hockey.
  13. Probably...but he was drafted last year. NHL team only have two years of watching him play college puck seems odd. If he’s not here, he’s somewhere else (hopefully I’m wrong).
  14. Miller will be playing college puck next season if he goes in the top 3 rounds.
  15. Sorry I meant Richards
  16. Perunovich was 100% leaving no matter what. Samburg was also as close as you get to being a lock to leave. So those shouldn’t be shockers. Wolf shocked me. so they basically lost one...don’t feel bad about that.
  17. I believe they are both juniors.
  18. Oh, dman will be Mitchell (although Moore has already been drafted....so). Not sure on the forward. Bowen? Big kid but had an off draft year. Kunz? Portz?
  19. Interesting. I hope he keeps out better prospects in juniors. I'm of the opinion playing is better than not playing. Unless you do very well in juniors, we shouldn't be bringing in these kids unless they know full and well that they will be sitting. And I still don't like that from a development standpoint.
  20. I forgot about Budy...given his age and skill level he'll probably crack the lineup. I don't like how he finished the year in Langley though. Numbers were not good, but his team was terrible. I could see Gaber getting a shot in the top 6....his ushl numbers were no joke. But he is old. Nice attribute he has is his motor....which is why I slotted him with Senden and Ness.
  21. Slide some of those boys up on the second...I get the shiny new object approach but Pinto and two freshman....not a chance :). I'd slot Blaisdell/Caulfield/Hain up there. Bubs started Hain in the top 6, Icould see him trying that again. Maybe Blaisdell - Pinto - Caulfield (Blaisdell replaces Michaud). Ok I'll play... Mismash - Adams - Guch Blaisdell-Pinto-Caulfield Hain-Weatherby-Rizzo Ness-Senden-Gaber
  22. Yeah, it is what it is. I, for one, was expecting a big junior year from him. Numbers were decent given the limited playing time.
  23. Completely agree and saw this situation playing out mid season. I wouldn’t be shocked if it had more to do with how he carries himself than his style of play. It can rub the old school hockey guys the wrong way. Kid was very skilled who wasn’t given the minutes he deserved. Plain and simple. Did he make some mistakes, sure...that’s what most underclassmen do. He was number #4 on last years team and got sat anytime he didn’t make a perfect play. He was in the dog house very early in the season. I can think of another dman that made mistakes almost every shift and had the longest leash I’ve ever seen. Tough situation but this can’t become the norm or you won’t get these type of players. Develop them.
