  1. Well ya....more of a nice guy. Not too in with new skill based training.
  2. Gotta be somethin else. Bill is a great guy and and GF has always ebbed and flowed between the two programs. Had Paranica (former Sioux player) not got that job RR would continue to dominate.
  3. Agreed...he was really good when he was younger. Hasn't had the production at the HS level though, obviously still a ton of time though.
  4. Bordeleau would be a great get, Dad played in the show. I'm guessing he goes to one of the East Coast schools if he plays college. Maybe check out which schools he follows on Twitter. That typically gives you a reasonable clue. Richels plays with Brodzinski, I would say that has a ton to do with it.
  5. I thought we’d be after him.
  6. Bingo, a lot of this is factual. But...we did miss out on high end talent, specifically at the F position, the past few recruiting classes. One here or there and then they leave a year early. What happens is you are left with solid 5x5 guys and we hope they turn into high point producers (i.e. Gardner). Many times Ive noticed that we get (or used to get) the high end guy and backfill it with tough to play against guys. When the high end guys leave, you're left with solid 5x5 guys....which is where we are today. I do like next year's recruiting class and I do think some of our FR and Soph players will take that jump next year. We simply don't have strong upperclassmen....from a point production standpoint.
  7. I agree with most of what you're saying here...as far as older players dominating against younger competition. But I would like to know how many 16 YOs there are in the USHL; I would doubt there are more than 3-5. That league is so tough now. If you put up big points in the USHL you will be good in college hockey...now matter what your age is. That league has even changed from 5 years ago with all the new Euro influx. I have heard this Ness kid is kind of a later bloomer. Hopefully he picks it up (production wise) during the stretch run and has a good year next year when some of the older kids move on. As far as your last comment, I assume you mean first round talent. They are going elsewhere.
  8. I wouldn’t quite say that but he definitely comes across as role player to me. 8-9th on his own team in pts but he missed some time with the wjac. Ushl is a very tough league and it is his first year of juniors. May be more of a senden type player. Next year will show us more.
  9. Haha. Looks like it. i guess he’s kind of a late bloomer. Berry has sure flipped quite a few kids lately.
  10. Ok….so we dig deep into the NA to find a proven scorer..."for next year". Haha, ok.
  11. I get the frustration....however you can't just "bring in another scorer". This is college hockey...no trades can be made.

  13. Numbers definitely don't jump off the page (not that young) but he played for USA in the WJAC. Looks like he'll play USHL again next year. That should be good for him.
  14. Griffen Ness committed.
  15. Bowen is definitely not a bad penalty killer. Is he great....no. But he's not bad. Lately he has taken some pretty stupid penalties, but the coaching staff just need to talk to him. I highly doubt Keane will ever be a consistent college player. He struggled mightily in a high scoring junior league (on a good team) as a 20 year old. I think Keane is a great locker room guy and can fill in on a 4th line if we absolutely need him too. When he gets called up he seems to buzz.....but eventually disappears.
  16. Haha unexpected departures. in all seriousness, Gaber needs another year of juniors. He may be more of a grinder...i noticed his pp numbers are low. It would be a good idea to continue to develop
  17. Since Michael mancinelli was traded he’s went on a nice little tear. Shows you what a system (and opportunity) can do.
  18. He’s a great young player.
  19. I agree with most of what you post. But I truly think it’s a system problem. On most nights we have more talent than the other team. I mean we have really skilled guys who aren’t doing anything. Obviously we do have a few guys who will never be offensively productive but in the other end, we have some guys who should be a lot better.
  20. I agree as well. You don’t hang with all these good teams if our team is full of scrubs. They have to get more creative in the ozone. Sacrifice some shots for some more creativity. Overpassing can be a problem for some skilled teams....not this one though. Also, they have serious confidence issues.
  21. 1–3 points
  22. I get your point, but 25-30 points is a stretch. That was be awesome. What is ward doing for Omaha, he enever came close to putting up the kind of numbers those two boys did.
  23. Great post. This team is very tough to watch given the lack of offense. Made it through the first last night.
  24. I watched the game. Everything starts at the point when it should be the other way around. 90% of those closer shots result after the defensive player already has taken the perimeter shot. Either one of our forward scrambled to retrieve it and fire something on net. It’s not a “quality scoring chance”. Name me one time the forwards were able to create something themselves that didn’t appear to be 4th line grind material. Any backdoor passes? Creating space and finding an open forward in the slot? Never. When the forwards get the puck they only look to get it back for a perimeter shot. 100% of the time. we had a couple scoring opportunities last night. Should have more than a couple every period.
  25. From where? Our only shots originate from the point. Zero cycling and containment down low. This team will never see a goal with all three forwards in on it. as I’ve mentioned too many times, when we have the puck in the ozone the first, second, and third option is going out to the point for a perimeter shot. That play is supposed to be used as an outlet...to catch the Dzone players sleeping. Our boys only do that. It’s like running a play action in football every play. DU knew none of our forwards would even attempt to beat them low.
