  1. It’s fun watching them play, many are going to be good NHL players in the future. NTDP > Manitoba in a landslide. Guessing NTDP chose not to come here.
  2. 100%…does that NCAA exhibition not count as a real game? If so, that’s dumb. Also, Manitoba instead of NTDP??? Also a step down
  3. The only reason i actually liked the idea…was because Berg is 100% a wing (even though he wins draws). Omac’s skating is significantly better and he’s rangy. As you probably know, there’s a ton of responsibility that goes into playing C besides draws. There are a ton of W’s in the NHL that take plenty of draws, because they’re good at it. Now will it happen…probably not. I’m just saying W is easy; at C you have to be able to skate/pass. Berg is somewhat one dimensional with his shot. Let him focus on that and put a good passer down the middle. There’s a reason almost all trigger men play W.
  4. Good point, completely forgot that OMac was playing C. I strongly feel like Berg should move to wing. He looks and plays like a wing.
  5. Tambellini had actually carved out a decent career. FYI
  6. I honestly don’t think Boisvert needs too much “adapting”. He’ll be good day 1. He needs to keep beefing up. But he has an unreal shot and he backtracks really well for a younger kid. He’s going to be really good right away, hopefully we get him for two years.
  7. Good point, that’s why I was noting 3C with skilled linemates (maybe a young skilled line) plus pp1 time. At worst pp2. Out of the gate, Berg will be 1C (even though he skates like a W). Wilkie will get a crack at 2C…or else why did he choose us over Wisco? Boisvert will be fine (initially) at 3C assuming he get very solid PP time. I’ve heard he’s taking the slow approach which is great. Put Swanson and Perron (or Jammer, etc) and that’ll be a nice line. Bubs rolls his lines for the most part at evens
  8. They’re two diff positions. I think Wilkie will start out 2C. I think Schmaltz may be that 4th line C…in looking at the C’s. Boisvert is a sold two way player. He’ll get a top 9 C look the entire year plus he’ll play PP. I think he’ll start out 3C but he’ll have skilled linemates and probably play PP1 at worst PP2.
  9. I think we’ll have more of a top 9 this year. 2 good PP’s. Top 6 will obv be heavy, but our third line will have skill. Maybe the young guns on one line? Swanson-Boisvert-Perron
  10. I like Kunz in a top 6 role when he’s moving his feet. He’s not a bottom 6 player. He’s only productive playing with offensive players.
  11. With all due respect, I’m not sure Wilkie was brought in to play bottom 6. He’ll get top 6 to start the year…100%.
  12. both those seasons were terrible compared with 21-22. If my memory serves right schmaltz continued to play in a top 6/more advantageous role while Matteo was buried buried. The fact schmaltz had 12 in 25 while playing top 6 and seeing pp time is actually worse if you ask me.
  13. Agreed that pt total would be good. If he can match his total from last year….that would be great
  14. We shall see, age is on his side for sure. His production from juniors to college is odd. I do know the AHA schedule is really bad and RIT has been a heavy hitter lately. But again, age is on his side, hopefully he can come close to those numbers in the NCHC.
  15. Potentially…but was Blake did (production wise) was incredible. If Zellers does was Blake did in college I’ll be pumped.
  16. Blakes going to want that sequence back…ouch
  17. Jeremy Wilmer in the portal…that’s interesting. Good production, I guess he was scratched for the FF game.
  18. Maybe oshie but that was a limited sample size.
  19. Would we have played BC? I don’t think we would have fared too well.
