Sorry about that, I created another thread titled "June 12 Measures" for those wishing to discuss them.

Measures 2 & 4 will bring people out to vote. Here's how I plan to vote right now. Please feel free to comment on or correct me on my interpretations of Measures 1 & 3 as those are the ones I'm less knowledgable about. Measure 1 - No (if passed, allows state legislators to be appointed to state gov't positions) Measure 2 - No (if passed, removes property taxes and entrusts the state gov't with funding local gov't) Measure 3 - No (this just looks like a dumb, unnecessary measure that will ensure religious freedom... which we already have.For those who believe it will ensure more religious freedoms, remember that those freedoms will also be granted to people of other "religions," scientology and such) Measure 4 - Yes (if passed, allows UND to remain competitive in athletics) What are your thoughts on the measures up for vote this summer?

LakesDave doesn't care about the people actually playing and wearing the jerseys. He only cares about what makes him happy.

I don't know why you would even try to make this argument when it is known you don't care about the team at all. The only thing you care about is the team's nickname.

Dear LakesDave, if other teams have tight fitting jerseys and UND has loose fitting jerseys, then UND is at a disadvantage. Hence, UND should get tight fitting jerseys. It's not about personal preference and it's not about looks. You're not going to win this argument because you are wrong and there are facts to prove it.

Ok, did they account for the increased taxi service, gas, shopping, and other revenues that come along with an influx of thousands of people into the cities?? Those numbers would be incredibly difficult to quantify. I haven't paid much attention to this whole deal, what's the 8 days thing about?

You don't have an attachment to the team, your attachment is only to the team's nickname. Most students/alums have an attachment to the school itself, but that's something you apparently will never understand.

The look of the jersey is a matter of personal preference, the functionality is not.

Also, if you're going to base the decision on whether there is a direct profit from the investment, the government should probably get out of the business of making roads and maintaining parks.

I kinda doubt that number took into account the taxes paid by hotels, restaurants, and stores which exist and make money only because of the sports team and stadium. Should the Vikings leave, many bars and restaurants will close, hotels will see lower profits/possible losses, and sporting goods stores which have a focus on NFL apparel will shutter. The NFL is the most popular/profitable professional sport in the US right now, losing the Vikings would be huge for MSP and the state of Minnesota.

If UND's offense has tight jerseys, then the opposing defense has a more difficult time grabbing/tackling the UND player. If UND's defense has tight jerseys, then the opposing offensive blockers have a more difficulty time grabbing/holding the UND player. UND doesn't play against itself, so it doesn't work out evenly for both sides. These are obvious valid reasons that tight jerseys are more functional. It's not rocket science.

Unfortunately, I think the people of ND will vote to retain the name, then the supreme court will find the law unconstitutional, then the constitutional amendment will be passed, then the Big Sky will remove UND (unless the legislature acts quickly with a 2/3 vote to undo the constitutional amendment).

Perhaps he should've devoted more time learning how to spell.... that way he could appear more professional.

There are reasons why the Alumni Foundation didn't announce the press conferences until the morning of the press conferences. Had they wanted people to show up and show support they would've announced the upcoming press conferences a week beforehand. But no, they're press conferences, not pep rallies.
