I have little to no problem with cuts named to date. A university president is always a politician, anyone thinking otherwise doesn't know anything about university presidents. Schafer cares about UND and it's future. The cuts he is making are for the benefit of UND, not ndsu.

Even if that was the only reason, it would be enough. The College of Business is an oft-neglected cash cow for UND. Gamble Hall is used by multiple colleges due to its large amphitheater style classrooms, so it's an important facility to the entire campus as most students will take a class there. It's time to make it a jewel on campus, in the opinion of UNDBIZ.

If they were to go NCAA D3, could they play D1 hockey? I was under the impression the current D3 schools playing D1 hockey were grandfathered in, but now you must be at least D2 to start D1 hockey.
