  1. Let's roll with this.
  2. I guess the FCS playoff committee was on to something with their "quality losses" bit.....
  3. We have to give 110%. We need to impose our will on the opponent and force them to play our game.
  4. Ties with CC (49), Maine (46), and Bemidji (36), and a loss to Wisconsin (38) really hurt UND. The SCSU losses to CC and Miami must just about even it out.
  5. Anyone else watching the Duluth-CC game? Lot of Duluth fans dressed in yellow plastic.
  6. Also, Schafer alluded to ensuring tuition is contained in future years, so some of his planned cuts may be to set UND up for the future.
  7. Higher Ed's state budget has about tripled since the start of the boom. Elementary and high school budget probably tripled too. The legacy fund has around $3-4 billion that can't be spent yet. State paid a lot of oil money to lower property taxes and the city councils just increased spending instead. Also did a lot of building and road projects when construction was most expensive.
  8. The general fund allotment for UND should be around $12.8 million, including the med school. The tuition budget is not subject to the allotment. UND is getting hit extra hard because the money for the new med school was cut by 4% too. The $6.4 million for ndsu doesn't look like it includes the reduction in their research funding from the state, which is about another $4.5 million. The $25 million looks to be a 2 year number, and was caused in large part by UND budgeting a large tuition increase.
  9. As for all 2 and most 3 star recruits, I'd say they're comparable to 7th round nhl draft picks. About the same potential as 0 star/undrafted players.
  10. The big Sky co-freshman of the year had one offer each. Just saying
  11. Switch the red and yellow in that one around and put on the beak, and we've got our local tie-in.
  12. A bit too German with those colors,
  13. Wow. Good for CC. Giving that kind of support with the downturn in their program speaks volumes.
  14. #TeamBubba
  15. WMU (FBS), Denver, and Omaha are all D1 as well.
  16. Obviously Schafer won't be the next UND President, but what a breath of fresh air. http://www.thedickinsonpress.com/news/north-dakota/3937721-schafer-work-together-meet-budget-challenge-und-interim-president-urges
  17. Uconn is garbage compared to Ohio St. Now that's saying something.
  18. I'm still waiting for Kelley's report on tenure as well.
  19. Denver, Omaha, Miami, and WMU seem to have proven that sharing a hockey conference doesn't lead to basketball and football games. As for fan support, what is the average hockey attendance at NCHC and B1G schools this year? People are ragging on the B1G because attendance is down, but I'd guess it's still higher at Wisco, Minn, and Mich than any NCHC school not named UND (maybe UNO too, with a brand new arena). As for hockey being a red-headed step child at B1G schools, yes, it's not the #1 or even the #2 sport at most of the schools, and yet their hockey budgets are still larger than most schools in the NCHC. What I'm trying to get across here is a small sport in the B1G is still bigger than a big sport in the MAC/NSIC/Big Sky/Summit/SCAC conglomerate.
  20. I believe she said he's a 2017, but I could be wrong.
  21. I agree is unlikely, but if it was offered UND wouldn't have to spend any time considering it, we'd accept immediately.
  22. You can't be serious
  23. FYP
  24. One can understand why the foundations don't want the state to be allowed to audit them. When you're donating to a foundation, make sure you designate the funds for something (scholarships, endowed faculty, specific programs) or it may be used as a slush fund (even at UND), unless of course you don't care if your donation is being used to send the president on a fully paid vacation to attend the Final Four (where his school isn't even participating).
