  1. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4009872-und-baseball-fundraising-offer-september-went-without-response#.VxAO5NHP6ww.twitter I don't care if you weren't worried about the budget at that time, you still accept nearly any offer of help raising money. I can't imagine what he said is what he truly believed, but come on Faison. He likely knew the program was on the chopping block, but he doesn't/can't say it. Need to come up with better excuses though.
  2. Shotgun Sally's near Kmart may have some good music on occasion.
  3. They converted the Olympic rink into a large bar. I believe they did something similar during the world curling tourney.
  4. It now makes complete sense that S&D wasn't cut.....
  5. The cost of the sports that were cut is also close to 4.05 percent of the athletic department's budget......
  6. A couple minor league teams were tried and failed in Grand Forks in the 90s, granted they didn't have an attractive stadium. These things cost money though.
  7. One item to note from this, it appears the entire expense of the REA ($2.57 million) has been placed in the MIH section with no facilities expenses allocated to WIH. Also on the revenue side, when it comes to contributions "not related to specific teams" it would appear they're referring to champions club revenues ($3.14 million), which are driven almost entirely by MIH (primary) and FB (secondary).
  8. Max Bautch - LB/FB - Blaine, MN was recently in for a visit, per twitter.
  9. Agreed. Sad to see him go, but it's well deserved. Any idea what his contract is looking like?
  10. Wonder when we'll hear about Stecher.....
  11. Here's the athletics budget info from the 2013-14 school year. http://www.undsports.com/fls/13500/Athletic%20Dept/BusOps/FY%202014%20NCAA%20AUP.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=13500
  12. November 11 and 12. Hockey vs Denver and Football vs N Arizona. Should make for a nice weekend.
  13. WBB also offers a lot more than WIH. It already has better attendance at a much lower cost.
  14. Exactly. Publishing actual numbers would be a death knell for collegiate athletics.
  15. Thanks. The five positions on the right side being direct reports to the VPFO doesn't make much/any sense. http://und.edu/discover/_files/docs/org-chart-april2016.pdf - Here's the overall upper admin org chart, which is so large it's not a chart at all.
  16. I'd love to see an organizational chart for UND.
  17. Didn't say they're being mistreated, just said it wasn't as rewarding for UND as it was for most of the other schools. The Med School is a one-time item and not part of the funding formula. Dr. Wynne has done quite well advocating for the Med School (occasionally at the expense of the rest of UND, unfortunately).
  18. $2 million?! I've been underestimating.
  19. REA and UND spend more promoting it than they make off it.
  20. If nobody knows your associated with them because it's a sport nobody watches or pays any attention to, then it's not going to be accomplishing much. It certainly is not a reason to throw away $1 million + per year.
  21. What has women's hockey playing against the goofers done for academics? I'm seriously interested.
  22. Agreed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but collegiate sports weren't originally designed to give their participants a free college education or their coaches a $100,000+ salary either.
