  1. Have to say I don't really think the arc'd NORTH DAKOTA at the Betty is all that great.... Much prefer the interlocking ND that they have on the helmets or the shoulders of the hockey jerseys
  2. Say what you want about Tebow, his team now believes they can win. Going from 1-4 to 7-1 after changing from Orton to Tebow is quite a turnaround. No, its not all Tebow, but the quarterback is the team leader and the bottom line is the Broncos are now winning. The quarterback does not have to do it all by themselves, but they can be an inspiration for the team and its belief in themselves.
  3. have to agree that some of the grammar and spelling on all boards and blogs reflects the wonderful educational system in place today. In many respects, its the same group that also wants to destroy the Fighting SIoux name that hail from Indianapolis, Madison, etc...
  4. The difference between Sacramento State pulling their basketball and other Olympic sports out of the Big Sky and the admission of UC Davis and Cal Poly's football teams is that just that - Sac State is already in the Big Sky and would be pulling their other sports out of the conference. Will the Big Sky say "OK, take your other sports and leave your football team"? That is actually not a move forward for the conference like adding Davis and Poly football. Did they really set a precedent that applies to Sac State?
  5. 391 votes to catch Ambrose from Towson. Only 10 ahead of Ash Vote early. Vote often!
  6. good piece by Rick Reilly on espn.com about why Alabama should not get a free pass to the national championship game... http://espn.go.com/e...-bcs-title-game
  7. Faison should be looking for games for the first two weekends of September to replace SD Mines & Central Arkansas. another post on this board said Weber was already scheduled for those weeks though...
  8. less than 300 votes to #11. bad news is that Mussman has about half the votes that #10 (Bohl) has. keep up the good work, Sioux fans! vote early. vote often.
  9. Really, Cratter, the credit goes to you for the idea on that other thread that Darell should shut up on and let it go away. But thanks for the + rep!
  10. Mussman is also among the top vote getters for the Liberty Mutual Coaching Excellence Award http://www.coachofth...bid=dkyuqzOpAdY
  11. by the coaches: http://www.fightingsioux.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=58640&SPID=6399&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=205337765 and the media: http://www.fightingsioux.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=58640&SPID=6399&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=205338151 ... and is also a finalist for the National Coach of the Year. http://topics.areavo...the-year-award/

where is the "Start a New Thread" button on this new webpage?
  13. so it sounds very quiet on the realignment front. two questions: who jumps first now that the football season is (nearly) finished? will this change in light of the possibility of auto qualifiers going away... are there any rumblings out of Missoula and Bozeman (as rumored by the Texas State board at the end of last summer) of the Montanas going FBS?
  14. keep up the good work folks! now in 15th, 1 vote ahead of Bethune-Cookman coach Brian Jenkins. Vote Early Vote Often
  15. OK, here's a target --- 58 votes to #13! only 8 more to #15.
  16. not really a reform the BCS question, but what happens if Georgia beats LSU in the SEC title game? does LSU lose the opportunity to play for the national championship, while Alabama gets in without playing any more games?
  17. less than 100 votes to #15 as of 10 pm Nov 29. As they say in Chicago - Vote early, vote often.

    Attendance

so next year, its about which comes first - the chicken (quality opponents) or the egg (wins). Nowhere to go but up.
  19. i will qualify this comment - i am a UND alum ... be careful about being too superior about playoff attendance at NDSU. first of all, they got to the playoffs, and second, they have a high enough in-season attendance average to be able to get a home game. unless UND starts getting a better crowd under the Big Sky banner (and last weekend's conference championship game which was not during Thanksgiving break, against the last remaining rival doesn't speak well for the Alerus crowds), when UND does get into the playoffs, they will be traveling to Robert Morris, not hosting them.
  20. good point. problem: FBS schools rarely have an opening for the following season. they are typically scheduled a year or two in advance, unless someone pulls out of a game with them too. That said, how about another Drake game or San Diego, or even a game against a hockey school like Harvard (who will be here this Christmas)
