lets just say that the 40 win season of 1987 never seems to be in danger. that team never let up - from the beginning of the season until the NCAA finals were over.

Goon, your blog was pre Christmas vs post Christmas. AZ Sioux is running Friday vs Saturday also. The numbers tend to show that Hakstol's teams are at about .700 on Fridays (before & after Christmas) and under .500 on Saturdays before Christmas They are over .750 on Saturdays after Christmas. Nice work AZ Sioux
-
Thank you for the work, AZSioux. So, if I take your raw numbers, UND is 32 - 12 - 5 (.704) on Fridays before Christmas and 19 - 26 - 5 (.430) on Saturdays But, after Christmas, the numbers are 29 - 11 - 6 (.696) on Fridays and 32 - 12 - 5 (.767) on Saturdays. I also claim to only be human, but it appears that UND will hit their Saturday stride after Christmas
-
Anyone know what UND's Saturday record before Christmas is under Hakstol? Seems to be a familiar pattern.

No Weber State again next year?
-
This will be UND's first defensive shutout of the season. Problem is, Bye's defense will be the only one that can hold UND scoreless this year.
-
interesting what a couple of blowout losses can do... UND has lost only to ranked teams and an FBS team, yet Sac State and UNI get votes . UND gets none. Also - SD State not getting a lot of love for being 2nd in the MVFC.
-
Or is it that some teams have figured out that you just throw a short pass to whoever Mackey is supposed to be covering and let them go? Seriously -just dump it to the wideout with the 12 yard cushion and let them run...
-
what defense are you watching?

SUU has arguably as tough a schedule this year as UND. Substitute Weber for Northern Colorado & SUU has basically the same conference schedule as UND. They lost to Sac State but beat Eastern Washington. Their Big Sky record is 3 & 3. Like UND, they also played a D-II school. Lost to 2 FBS schools. My point? They received enough votes in this week's poll after beating EWU to be a defacto #35. UND will have their hands full this weekend. Defense needs to step up: UND has an opportunity to validate last year's win and move to .500 in the Big Sky. Hope Miller, Sutton, Garmin AND Sparks have a banner day and Hanson only has to pass for a couple hundred yards, not 600.

Timberwolves racist for being too white?

now we've heard it all......... -
Purdue is giving up 30 points per game (39 ppg vs B1G schools)
-
OK, i get it. it's back on the Bob Nielson bandwagon then.
-
even though i tire of Darrell and DaveK feeding the trolls... it appears that you are a fan of the right team.
-
if i'm not mistaken, FU got Bohl from Nebraska when he was DC there. Nebraska's prestige/profile is as strong as Notre Dame's. All it takes is a commitment (read salary) to a successful football program. Or does hockey have a corner on that market at UND?
-
is Sorenson still playing? He may get that in the air alone. Another Big Sky track meet. Definitely over.
-
After watching what Notre Dame did to Oklahoma last night (despite allowing the first rushing touchdown of the season) one has to ask what it would cost to bring in Notre Dame's Defensive Coordinator as the head coach. Is UND willing to fund the football program to achieve the level of their competition or is the administration content to be the Big Sky's next Northern Colorado? http://www.und.com/s...iaco_bob00.html

Sac State 35 and the ball Cal Poly 29 1:59 to go in the game Edit: final. NAU last unbeaten in the conference!

from this article - What a great endorsement of the old-style smash mouth football the Fighting Sioux played:
-
How about someone who can actually wrap their arms around a running back or bump a wide receiver at the line of scrimmage and still keep their feet under tham?
-
So-o-o-o how about Dale Lennon taking one from the Bison? What could be better than a UND win this weekend? This would be a close second.
-
More than likely would not have made a difference. Since hockey was already D-I and had the Bennet Brien logo on the front of the jersey, the Fighting Sioux would have been in the NCAA's crosshairs whether the rest of the teams were D-I or D-II (or even D-III)

I think it comes down to not enough camera angles if the games are not televised, and even some of the televised games don't have enough cameras to get a good look on a replay.
