  1. Don't know if SiouxVolley's scenario will actually happen (even though the pieces seem to be falling into place) but it is sure entertaining to watch the Bison trolls panic as the story unfolds.
  2. Would really like to see what Walthall would do at UND and the Big Sky, but it might be tough to drop Jones this year. Walthall will more than likely be gone from MSUM no later then next year, but more likely this spring.
  3. http://www.idahostatesman.com/sports/college/university-of-idaho/article63354392.html
  4. Since New Mexico State is still WAC and Idaho was, would the Big Sky use the WAC as leverage in creating an FBS division? Or has the WAC lost its FBS designation since it imploded?
  5. Sounds familiar... %gobc bisonville style
  6. Sorry, meant to +1. Finger missed
  7. Historically, don't these things start with frays?
  8. Either UNDBIZ's version of Geaux Sioux's bird (the one with the subliminal Sioux across the neck feathers) Or 77iceman's wings have my vote.
  9. Thats on Jones. Not many road trips shorter than UNC, this is DI. Should have had plenty of time to prepare for one Saturday game.
  10. I must say that I really like the subliminal SIOUX across the feathers on the bottom of your rendering.
  11. I think he played JC somewhere in the Phoenix metro. Without looking it up, Glendale CC comes to mind. edit - looked it up, transfer from U of A, Tucson
  12. Didn't Georges come out of Arizona? Seems to be a better than most receiver.
  13. http://www.spokesman.com/blogs/sportslink/2016/jan/14/idaho-ad-rob-spear-discusses-upcoming-sun-belt-vote/ troll bait ... Sounds like there may be some meat in Sioux Volley's predictions.
  14. Is the ratio of players leaving the team any different than the ratio of the general student population who leave college for whatever their personal reasons may be? My guess, and it's only a guess is that the retention of players for 4 or 5 years is much better than the dropout rate of the average student. Courses can be difficult and college is not for everyone.
  15. really dislike the implication in the title of this thread that these players are going to a rival team, rather than leaving college altogether, as in the above situation.
  16. Smallest stadiums in the Big 12 are 50,000+. If they built it, would enough people come?
  17. Seriously, what's wrong with staying FCS? It is D-I in every sport. Unless the P5 break off, FCS is probably the only D-I sport NDSU will win a national title in. Besides hockey, FCS is UND's only other national championship possibility, as well. Basketball and volleyball titles were sacrificed to move up. Baseball, softball, soccer, etc were not even possibilities in D-II. Unless Sioux Volley is right about at least part of the Big Sky moving together, both UND and NDSU will be best served to remain FCS under the current system.
  18. The Big Sky is a solid conference, the Summit is not stable and doesn't have a football home for UND. RPI's are fluid and subject to change. Fullerton is pushing the boundaries while Douple doesn't have vision other than backfilling for schools that have left the conference. And to top it off, when I was in school, the Big Sky was the conference I always thought UND and NDSU should join.
  19. To be fair, NDSU has absolutely nothing to gain from playing UND., but that does not imply that they are afraid to play the game. That's why Coach Schweigert insisted on allowing the two consecutive games at the Fargodome. It was a shrewd bit of gamesmanship on his part - call their bluff, get on the schedule, gain experience of playing the bison the first time around and be able to call on the lessons learned for the next time, whether in 2019 or in a playoff game before that. Both UND's (Thomas) and NDSU's (Taylor and/or Bohl) problem children have moved on and the game will happen with more regularity now that the ice has been broken. And, personally, I hope UND does not move to the Summit, but would not mind if NDSU and even the South Dakota schools would join the Big Sky if the Summit does fall apart.
