Schools that are household names....with few exceptions. Don't think Gonzaga has a football team. Or Xavier....but the only reason I know these places even exist is because of basketball. Would hardly call them household names. And honestly, I really don't care if I impress people that I don't know unless they got a job waiting for me after I graduate.

Soccer features the same stuff hockey does. FCS football is "better" because college football is the choice of the masses. Every major school that has athletics, has football.

I am not the one who said anything about hockey ratings vs. FCS ratings. I am referring more to the fact a professional league featuring very well compensated athletes doesn't get very good ratings for its championship. EDIT: Should be noted I caught a few of the games.

Hayduke, you are aware that FBS is a subdivision as well. I don't understand why you feel the need to all-caps the word subdivision in FCS. Clearly you have a hard-on for hockey. Which is fine. It appears the only person who needs a dose of reality is you.

Well....Minnesota is a B1G school. Of course they were playing the big boys. I find it a bit funny you are smacking on NDSU's FBS wins...thought you wanted NDSU to compete against teams from the highest level?

More alumni follow it because UND is a hockey school.

So would you be more impressed if NDSU won a national title in wrestling? Or if UND managed to win a men's tennis title? Would you be more impressed or excited about these than football title?

I find it funny that someone who is a fan of a team who plays in the Alerus refers to the dome as a dump. If you want, I can send you and "NDSU Hockey : Undefeated since(I forget the year)" shirt.

I include them. That was the method of determining champs at the time. I see your way of thinking on the subject however.

Oh I've seen it before! At one point or another, he will upset some fellow UND fans though for badmouthing the football program and belittling the achievement that is the National Championship.

Brought a UND student to the Colorado State game last year. Have a few UND students ask me if I can snag them football tickets at the dome. UND should be able to sell more nationally. D-I hockey is limited to what. 60 or so teams? I imagine most hockey fans in general have a favorite college team. UND is one of the big players in college hockey and should result in having some merchandise sold.

are you suggesting that either of those basketball teams were anything other than awful last season? Finance. Could probably take some home econ classes online at UND though.

NDSU football as we know it started in the 60's. Anything before, Meh. The teams have played once in the last ten years and they are both awful. 10>1.

At his age, probably not exactly easy to get the good jobs anymore. Its not over because of miscommunication. Its over because NDSU moved up. At this point in time, NDSU would win. There is little to discuss in that regard. Probably wouldn't be much of a game.

Pardon. 1.3 Billion by latest counts. Don't know how many are practicing....but I bet there are enough of us that we can handle this gentleman and his buddies who are in his line of thinking.

My favorite part about the PPTV piece was that the part about NDSU football had little to do with UND and more about winning titles....while the UND part had basically everything to do with catching up to NDSU. My Grandma was his babysitter back in Harvey, North Dakota. Said he was one of the nicest people she ever dealt with. That said, that man hated UND with more of a passion that I could ever imagine. Has twice as many titles as UND if I recollect.

Should be relatively close. UND gets a lot more home games. NDSU benefits from 7,000 or so more seats. Looks like hammersmith took care of it now that I take a peek. The numbers may or may not disappoint some folks around here.
