I never said I was losing sleep over it. But when you have a program like UND's that was driven into the ground and needs a total rebuild from the bottom up, any defections are very damaging. Maybe they won't matter as much in 5 years, but right now every defection hurts the depth of the team, which was lacking in 2015. That explains my frustration with the "bad news forthcoming" posts that pop up on here. I have nothing personal against any kid who decides not to come here, but I and others are just anxious to get back to winning and being relevant outside of Grand Forks. That is what fans do and this is a fan forum. So what is posted here shouldn't cause you to lose sleep either.

The difference between FU and UND is that FU is fully stocked and on top of the world while UND is still working on pulling itself out of the "Musshole" it was in a couple of years back. Hopefully Bubba and his staff are good enough salesmen to overcome these losses.

I was thinking the same thing. Driving to the basket and hoping for a foul is a crap shoot. And if you get the basket and not the foul, it's the same as missing a 3 pointer because you likely will not get the ball back.

Okay, point made. What about the lack of success Moorhead has had in MBB prior to this coach's hiring? It is a stark and clear difference. He is doing what others could not do and that is win at the Division II level.

And he is doing it with a fraction of the resources UND has.

I think Blankenburg has earned himself a piece of the starting job.

This was not Cam's fault. He can't play defense in front of himself and he can't score goals for us. I am sick of every loss our team suffers being blamed on our goaltending. Ever since Karl Goehring graduated, our fans have always thrown whomever is starting between the pipes under the bus when we lose. If we take care of the puck better, we win this game. Heck, if we block that last shot of the 2nd period, then our last goal of the game would have been the game winner instead of the game tying goal. The entire team needs to come out and play a full 60 minutes tomorrow.

Good point. We will NOT waltz through this league schedule, this isn't the Big 10 after all!

Look at it like this: We played one of our worst games of the season and we still had a chance to win it in the 3rd, but Boeser hit the crossbar on a 2 on 1. We'll come back tomorrow and play a much stronger, all-around game. And I really want to shove it down Taco Boy's throat tomorrow, that guy is a snot-nosed punk.

We'll have to just watch this team the rest of the season and see how things shake out. They have looked much, much better in conference play up to this point. Montana will pose a pretty stiff test on Saturday. I'll be there. Hockey tonight, Men's Basketball Saturday afternoon and Hockey Saturday night. Another sports-filled weekend in Grand Forks!

The community hasn't bought in because they know quality when they see it and they know crap when they see it. And a lot of our non-hockey programs have been crap since we moved up. Now Bubba is changing that with FB and MBB seems to be playing better this year, but after years of mediocrity it will take time to get the fans back.
