  1. No, that was the previous year (2000). Goehring had a concussion and missed the 2000 Final Five and the 2000 West Regional game vs. Niagara. He was back for the Frozen Four in Providence and well, you know the rest.
  2. LOL, one of the best movies of all time!
  3. Air travel rates change day to day and season to season, so this is tough to quantify.
  4. When (not if, but when) Bubba gets this program back to where it belongs, people will start becoming familiar with Big Sky teams and will start showing up to games, especially those match-ups with conference title and/or playoff implications. We haven't had games like that for such a long time that people have forgotten how awesome it is to have these games to look forward to all work week long in the autumn.
  5. I was referring to the segment of our fan base that wouldn't travel to Sioux Falls when they have had the tournament in their backyard for so long. When you get used to something like that, it's hard to adjust. Which we have all learned the past couple of years.
  6. Nice. When you don't have a good response.....go to the gutter. I rest my case.
  7. Do you really think most people on here care what USCHO and CHN think? I don't.
  8. Two words: spoiled rotten.
  9. That would be cool in so many ways. But I suppose the NCAA would rule it "illegal" somehow.
  10. Okay, fair enough. But with a passionate fan base, you will get that.
  11. Football and/or Men's Basketball attendence won't improve until the product does. Conference affiliation won't change that.
  12. We aren't selling out the Target Center with all these "advantages" and I don't think that will change. I do not want this tournament to start looking like those Division II Women's Elite Eight tournaments in Pine Bluff, AR back in the late 1990's.
  13. See, was that so hard? If future tournaments are as bad as this one was, attendance will only get worse and worse. Something has to change. "Status quo" isn't an acceptable answer.
  14. It can't be much worse that it was this year. And I for one do not plan on going to this event again until it is moved out of the landfill that is the Target Center. At least the Sioux Falls arena knows how to host the sport of hockey and won't make fools out of themselves doing it. But at least you brought something to the table.
  15. I love your optimism, I hope it is well-placed.
  16. My buddy Siouxperfan7 put together a well thought-out post on this topic and that is all you have in response? Stop being a contrarian just for the sake of being a contrarian. And don't come back with "It's not feasible" and leave it at that; bring some meat to the table. This is as good of a solution to this problem I have seen up to this point.
  17. I thought I read someplace that she cannot play anymore.
  18. Probably ordered not to.
  19. Zane is not a concern of mine right now. The team in front of him.....that's a different story.
  20. Why do some people talk like the Slummit is somehow on par with the MVC? It's a one-bid basketball league (like the Big Sky) with stability problems (unlike the Big Sky). Stop pumping it up into something it is not.
  21. Nobody is saying he will get fired. And nobody wants him to be fired. What I and others won't subscribe to is the notion that #nattysdontmatter.
  22. Did Hakstol take over a program with a full cupboard, a half-full cupboard or an empty cupboard? Honest question. And winning NCAA titles has never been "easy", so please put that tired old "It's just too hard" talking point to bed for a nice, long nap because it really needs it.
  23. People ignore the fact that Red Berenson took over a moribund Michigan program, so of course it took him awhile to win his first NCAA title. Same with Jerry York at Boston College. But why let facts get in the way of a good love fest?
  24. You can blame UND being behind the curve on Shantel "I don't have any Olympians" Rivard and the damage she did to the women's hockey brand before it even had a chance to get off the ground. Idalski has taken us from horrible to good, which is an achievement all by itself. The next step is to take us from good to great and that is always the toughest step. It was for UND football in the late 1980's and early 1990's and so it is for women's hockey. We aren't all that far away from contending for NCAA titles as a women's program.
  25. Pot-Kettle-Black anyone? The Big Ten Hockey Conference, as currently constructed, is a joke. No amount of propaganda or polish by BTN will change that. Gopher hockey fans get this; fans of other Gopher sports do not. Gopher hockey fans hate realignment; fans of other Gopher sports see "Big Ten" and think "Great". You can put as much lipstick on this P1G as you want, but it's still a P1G.
