Bubba's teams records thru last year at UND look like this: Overall: 47-40 - 54% win percentage Home: 32-10 - 76& win percentage Away: 15-30 - 33% win percentage Conference: 25-20 - 56% win percentage Now, 2016 and the 2020/2021 Spring season were both banner years as we won a share of the conference those seasons. Those were good years. Bubba has had 2 good years where we made then playoffs. Here are the numbers fot the other 6 seasons. Overall: 33-35 - 49% win percentage Home: 23-9 - 72% win percentage Away: 10-26 - 28% win percentage Conference: 13-19 - 41% win percentage No matter how you look at it including the banner seasons or not, these are not the numbers of a top tier program in the FCS let alone the MVFC. A 1-2 playoff record in that span doesn't turn many heads either. Not trying to turn up the heat on Bubba's seat after just one conference loss, but I think its perfectly fine to start asking the questions whether Bubba is the future for this program.

Volleyball at 10am, football at noon, hockey at 6pm. Not sure how you could space it any different. It is what it is.

That's dumb too. Fighting Hawks is our nickname. Get over it! (See, it goes both ways )
-
Nodak is not our nickname.

I often wonder what the state of this program would have been had Dale Lennon not left for SIU. Pretty safe to say he wanted to coach at the FCS level. When he left in January of 2006, UND had announced it was moving up till later that year. Granted, it didn't work out for Dale at SIU, but would it have been different had he statue at UND? The Muss years were brutal, so it wouldn't have taken much. But, Lennon had maintained the winning atmosphere in the program that RT created. Having that consistency in our transition years to D1 would have been nice. Lennon leaving and UND hiring the worng guy (Muss) deffinitely put this program in nuetral. And now we are trying to catch up to the rest of the MVFC, especailly the Dakota schools.

Anyone else feel that maybe after the 4th or 5th sack that Bubba should have gone to Quincy? Seems like we were needing a more mobile QB to extend played. Might have made a difference. Who knows. Just spit ballin here.

All starts with the O line. Has to play better if we hope to make a run at the playoffs.

Agreed. All these mockups are fun to do and look at, bujt the current logo is just fine for now. Need an alternate helmet. Many Valley schools have at least one. Every Dakota school has at least one. Sick of this program/school laging behind in everything we do.

I think the transition and acceptance of a new nickname would have been much smoother had UND chosen a new “ND” logo like the ones above. They could have used that for many years then transitioned to a Hawk logo later on. I would bet that SME had an “ND” logo as one of the options.

Facemask colors can be changed out (Don't ask me to make every possible combination ) but I think these are the best facemask/helmet color combos for each color.

To answer a question that has been hashed for hundreds of posts on this site... - Some people wanted just "North Dakota." - "North Dakota" would have been no nickname, which would have made "Sioux" the defacto nickname. - No nickname or just 'No Nickname" was thrown out as an option by the committee as an option.

If you didn't vote, you have no right to compain about the result!

He would add so much to our offense. 3rd head of the running back monster we have in the backfield!

I get the frustration with the logo. And that all stems from the fact that we voted for a nicname that was generic and overused. There are so many hawk names/logos out there, and not just hawks, but bird logos in general. So in a move to not just blend in with all the other bird logos, UND/Schafer went with a logo that was unique. Making a logo out of the initials of the school. If you want to compain about the logo, that all stemmed from the selection of the nickname. I've always wondered what would have happened had Roughriders been selected as the nickname. I think any logo that would have resulted would be far better and much more accepted than the Fighting Hawks logo. Why people didn't think of that wile voting is beyond me. The fake blackhawk bird logo being peddled around as the potential logo really pursuaded a lot of people to select Fighting Hawks. Is it too soon to change the nickname again?!!

All these logo designs are fun and exciting, but I really don't see any changes coming to the Fighting AHwks logo anytime soon. I don't even think we will see a secondary logo for a long time. UND Athletics is still struggling with it's identity. Some of it is self inflicted via it's fans, some is from outside sources. We stillsee medai from other schools using the interlocking ND logo. don't need to get into the people that still wear the Sioux logo to games. The Fighting HAwks logo, ebev thoug it's been 6 years, still hasn't taken hold yet. Could the logo be better? Sure. But UND isn't going to change it after only 6 years and add another retired logo to the pile to add even more confusion.

I guess this is a sign the football tem is playing good. It's kind of refreshing to know the biggest thing we have to bitch about during the football season so far is the catwalk in the Alerus and not the play of the team!!
-
Keep it simple you say? Ok. How bout just plain simple text similar to Nebraska. But instead of interlocking, go with something like this
