  2. Anyone here what band will be playing at the new "Tailgate Village" on Thursday? Just curious.
  3. It is going to very strange going to games at the Ralph this year. When you walk in the door, everything will be the same. Sioux logos on the floor, on pictures of former players, on the banners. Everyone is going to be wearing Sioux jersey. Then the team will skate out in warmups with "North Dakota" jerseys on skating on the ice without the sioux logo on it. They will seem very out of place. Oh well, Time to move on I guess. Probably going to be the hard to do at hockey games the most!
  4. Cratter, you are definitely the most irrational optimist on here....and I think its awesome!!! Keep it up!!!!
  5. You know it!!! What time is the lot open for tailgating? I have heard conflicting times. Is it 1pm or 2pm??
  6. Dakota is native american word....so who knows!!
  7. Thanks Dan....wasn't aware of that!!
  8. You've always wanted to be a Roughrider fan...maybe now you can get your chance!!!
  9. I totally agree with you that the Alerus staff can get carried away with their enforcement of their rules. But here's an easy fix. If you can't drink a beer in the student section, don't bring one in there. If they get anal about you putting your feat on the seats, don't put your feat on the seats. If they don't want you hanging on the railing, running up the steps, or throwing things on the field...Don't do it!!! While I do realize that they have rules, that doesn't mean that you can't still have fun at the games and cheer on the team. There are event staff at every arena in the country and they all probably have similar rules to the Alerus. They have similar rules at the Engelstad and I yet students still go to hockey games? Heck, you can even stand the whole game at the Alerus!! My advice, don't let the Alerus staff be the reason you don't go to the game. There is so much more positive from going to a football game that it greatly outweighs the negative caused by the staff that work there.
  10. Hey now....that's not fair. You backed up your argument with facts!!
  11. Captains and Alternates for 2012-2013 C - Andrew MacWilliam A - Corban Knight A - Danny Kristo A - Carter Rowney
  12. So free tickets, free shuttle to the game, free food at tailgating....sound like there should be no excuse for students not to be there
  13. Aren't student tickets free??

  15. How bout we all just wait until next year when all this goes down to freak out. A lot can change in a year. So right now we all need to just RELAX!!
  16. I think that is a cop out. As a UND student do you really not know that UND has a football team? Of course they do. Students know when the games are, they know where they are at. Recently they have just been lazy. Not sure if that s because they are too hung over from Friday night to make it to a 1 pm game or waht. I realize that we have had a lack luster team recently, but going to football games is part of college life. No excuse for students not to go to these games. Especially when it is free to go and they give away free food at tailgating!! Hopefully these later starts will help get the word out the day of the game. But the students really need to step up their support. Its been embarrassing!
  17. You sound like a Bison fan!!
  18. South Dakota is in the Valley for football. That is why they are playing them.
  19. Can't use that stuff...Green and white are not available colors
  20. Given the choice of the Alerus Center logos or no logo at all, 99.9 percent of most humans would prefer non at all Now what about the Big Sky logos? I wonder if those are going on the filed anywhere?
  21. This has probably been said on this post and many other discussions about this topic before.....UND was not going to play NDSU when they had a leg up on them in the number of scholarship players they had compared to UND. Not an even playing field. Also, D1 wins did not count as wins in regards to playoff implications, so it actually hurt UND to play NDSU or any D1 team. That is why UND chose not to play them. Now that UND is full D1 and the playing field is leveled, NDSU is the one that does not want to play UND. So while UND may have been the guilty party in ending the rivalry, NDSU is guilty of officially killing it for good.
  22. http://afboe.at/uplo...s-2011-2012.pdf On page FR-16 Under Section 2,h,3 "If a commercial entity has purchased naming rights to the facility, that name is allowed to be painted on the field; however, the commercial logo is not allowed to be in the field of play." I would assume that since the "Alerus Center" is a commercial logo, it is not allowed to be on the field. Not sure why this was overlooked when the initial design came out.
  23. In this clip it said that they were getting ready to put the rubber pellets down on the field. If that was the case, wouldn't make that very unlikely that they would be painting anything on the turf (say Alerus logo's)? Not to beat a dead horse....but it seems like there is a chance that there won't be any logos at midfield.
  24. Anyone got any recent pics?
  25. And there is your "Dagger"!!! Well said!!
