  1. SO just a side note, all of our road games have the city where they are playing the game: Minneapolis MN, Houghton MI, etc. Who was the smart guy who put the Notre Dame games to be played in Notre Dame IN??? Wow!!
  2. If you told me that I know nothing about say...electrical engineering, I would not be insulted. That is a fact. I am not insulted by it. The people 82SiouxGuy listed have shown time and time again that they do not understand how college athletics work...or common law for that matter. By making statements like "The NCAA is going to change their mind and let UND keep the nickname" is proof of that. you say that he insulted some honarable people. Well you have continually verbally insulted Kelley, Faison, O'Keefe, and others repeatedly on this site. I guess that doesn't count though right??!!
  3. 2012-2013Schedule details released: http://www.fightingsioux.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=205497328&DB_OEM_ID=13500
  4. Don't forget about our boys on the hardcourt!!!
  5. Well I guess NDSU is happy with the situation: http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/239313/group/Sports/
  6. Wait....we weren't supposed to do that??
  7. It all worked out for NDSU, so I think that now that it is 5 monhts after the end of the season and about 8 months since it happened, we all need to jsut let it go!!!
  8. No way it even gets on the November ballot as a Constitutional amendment. Even if the measure would have been defeated by a small margin like 55-45, people are more hesitant to make a change to the constitution. But since it went down 67-33, what do supporters of putting it on the ballot for constitutional amendment think is going to happen? Are 18% or approximitely 30,000 people are just going to change their minds? Plus there are more people voting in the November elections. Is the percentage going to be drastically different? I think that the Constitutional amendment is dead if you ask me. If somehow it gets on the ballot, it will be defeated by at least the same margin.
  9. Another reason that Bison fans are so irrate about the whole poll confusion issue is because there was even confusion in the first place. Bison fans feel, and maybe rightfully so, that people in the FCS world should know who they are because they have made a lot of noise since movin up. They had a few 10+ win seasons and have beaten a few FBS teams. UND fans know that and NDSU fans deffinitely know that. Why they are so mad about the mixup is they feel that even after all the accomplishments they have had at the FCS level, they still cannot get the recognition the feel they deserve and seperate themsleves from being confused with another North Dakota school. Especially from their rival who they despise.
  10. Can't wait!! Now that this nickname thing is all figured out, lets get this think on the books!!
  11. The rankings really didn't mean that much to UND last year because it really meant nothing. We were not playoff eligible so cracking the top 24 or even 16 didn't affect us at all. The point being made in all this is that NDSU was the #1/#2 ranked team in the country basically all year. UND was not playoff eligible. So why should Bison fans care where UND is ranked if it doesn't affect them at all? This year it affedts them, but last year it meant absolutely nothing. Only reason some Bison fans had an issue about it was because some have this neverending desire to discredit everything UND does. That is the issue.
  12. I think that UND's record kept them in the polls more than anything. Pollsters don't really look at who you beat, but just if you win. So while they may have got some rogue votes that week after the Fresno game, they were not going to drop them in the polls after a win. I am taking UND's 2011 season with a grain of salt. Sure we had 8 wins, but really we had 5 wins. The 3 against the lower division teams were not good wins and should not be used to rate this team. But in the Division 1 games last year, they were 5-3. Is that a good enough record to be ranked in the top 25? I thinks so. Apparently you do not.
  13. Was there a mixup in the polls the week we lost to an FBS team and NDSU was idol? More than likely. But that doesn't account for UND staying in the polls for the rest of the season. If there was a mixup, don't you think the voters would have "righted their wrong" and move those votes back to NDSU and UND would be out of the polls? Well, that didn't happen. Unless voters were confused for the entire season!! Not sure why Kolpack is obsessed with this. The Bison were never ranked lower than UND. SO who cares!! As long as NDSU was ranked higher, that wahts the big deal? Its just his obvious hatret toward UND being revealed and the fact that he doesn't want to give any credit to UND for anything.
  14. What the heck are we talking about now??? The military ranking of General Custer?? Seriously!! Watchmaker do you just like to argue about everything? You were not getting the point being made. The point was how Custer;s selfish desires and inabbility to see the disaster right in front of him led to his downfall. That is the anology. Wuit trying to pick thru a small detail and argue that instead of the basis of the argument.
  15. Dave, lets just take one FACT and you tell me how we have been misinformed on it. Here we go: If UND keeps the name, one of the sanctions will not be able to host NCAA playoff games. Now, if we don't get to host playoff games, there is a less than 1% chance that the football team will ever win a National Championship. You think that this won't hurt recruiting? Who would want to come to a school that had a slim to non chance to win a Championship because they can't host a playoff game?? So the result would be losing good players to other schools, ad we get the leftover players whos talent level is not even close to competitive schools. Please ell me how I have been misinformed.
  16. I think most of us agree that our "Fab 5" are pretty good. these guys have already had some accomplishments under their belt (2 Great West tournament championships, wins against tournament teams, etc). So these guys are felling pretty confident. Most of us will also agree that these guys can sometimes get a little cocky. Huff being the worst. These guys know they are the best players on the team, and rightfully so. I guess the reason why most of us are excited about these recruits coming in is they will not only provide stability to our bench and be able to come off the bench and produce, but it will motivate the starters because they will see that these guys coming in are just as good. At least that is our hope. Our starters are good. But don't think for a second that if one of these transfers starts to play really well, they won't get more playing time, and maybe even start.
  17. I really hope we don't end up 6-4 and that Mines game is out 7th win. that would be a real buzz kill.
  18. I don't see the University spending money to renovate Hyslop. the Facilities at the Betty are so much better. Better wight rooms, offices, etc. I agree that the UND baskteball may outgrow the Betty in its current state. But I could see them spending money to renovate the Betty. Like adding more seating at the ends. Plenty of room at both ends to expand there. I really hope we are talking about expanding the Betty in the near future!! Want to get back to the days of the early to mid 90's when the basketball ticket was the hottest ticket in town!!
  19. What?? Phil Jackson is going to replace Jones and coach at UND???!!
  20. I cannot wait until the day UND is ranked higher than NDSU!! It will be Armegedon down in Fargo!!!
