  1. So would Murray St join the MVFC as well? Would be hard to think that the Ohio Valley would keep them as an affiliate member just for football.
  2. I have always said that much of the "shock factor" shown by the players was a lot Idalski's fault for not preparing his players for the possibility that their program might be cut. Heck, if a bunch of idiots on a fan message board saw it coming a year ago, you'd think the head coach would maybe have an idea what is going on!!
  3. How dare you bring facts in and ruin a good argument!!
  4. I get what you are saying. But if you kept the schedule the same and just put it into two regionals, you would have to play 4 games the first day, 6 games the second day, and 2 games the 3rd day. I realize that it requires additional days for teams/fans to be at the regional, but it is similar to the Frozen 4. It could also be an alternative to going to the Frozen Four as ticket would maybe be easier to get and you have the opportunity to see more teams and games. * teams/fans booking flights to a location could be an issue. But that is why you would have the regionals in major markets that have the capability of handling that.
  5. Was there really much there to begin with?!! Not a rip on SiouxVolley personally, but the majority of things he has predicted would happen have not even come close.
  6. The idea of 2 "Super Regionals" has always intrigued me. Have 2 regions, East and West. Host arenas will be good size arena's, maybe even NHL arenas if need be. 8 teams would be in each region of course. Basically combine 2 regions into one , have 2 groups per region with the following schedule: WEST REGION Group A #1 v #4 - Thursday afternoon Group A Championship - Saturday #2 v #3 - Thursday evening Group B #1 v #4 - Friday afternoon Group B Championship - Sunday #2 v #3 - Friday evening EAST REGION Group A #1 v #4 - Thursday afternoon Group A Championship - Saturday #2 v #3 - Thursday evening Group B #1 v #4 - Friday afternoon Group B Championship - Sunday #2 v #3 - Friday evening
  7. That might be what eventually happens anyway!!
  8. I think if UND keeps getting awarded to host regionals at Fargo and Sioux Falls every other year, schools/coaches are going to see that maybe something has to change.
  9. Don't forget Frozen 4 in St Paul in 2018 as well.
  10. For all the people that still think that UND should have "stuck it to the NCAA" and kept the Fighting Sioux name, know this: Had UND kept the Sioux name, they would not be have been awarded the chance to host any postseason championships, which included hosting at off campus sites like in Fargo and Sioux Falls. So for that reason alone it was unfortunately necessary to drop the name. (Not meaning to drift this thread into a nickname controversy, but just noting the importance of being able to host NCAA tournament games, especially in hockey).
  11. Brad E. Schlossman @SchlossmanGF No off-campus sites bid for regionals in West or Midwest outside of UND (SF, Fargo) and Penn State (Allentown).
  12. So the Drive for 9 will go through Sioux Falls and Minneapolis next year. Not a bad route!
  13. Did anyone put in a bid west of Allentown, PA other than UND?!!
  14. Sioux Volley reporting news that isn't accurate?!!! What a shock....says nobody...ever!!
  15. As enticing as the MVC is for NDSU, they would be foolish to switch conferences. UND left the Big Sky not only because of the current cuts, but because the long term costs of playing in the conference year in and year out were just too great. Same can be said about NDSU. Moving to the MVC would increase travel costs, force NDSU to increase the salaries of their non football sports coaches to complete with other MVC schools, and they would lose money at the gate without having traditional rivalries with UND, SDSU, and USD. If money was no option, a move to the MVS is a no brainer if they were invited. But unfortunately money rules all in college athletics and NDSU can't afford the move. Plain and simple.
  16. They Lammy's only know how to invest in things emotionally. Numbers don't mean a whole lot to them!
  17. I wouldn't us the word quit. More like accepting reality and moving on. Either way I hope players see this is the smarter more practical thing they should be doing instead of making t shirts with hashtag slogans on them.
  18. Probably not allowed by the NCAA, but think of the possibilities?!!
  19. Go look at the rosters over the 15 years of the womens hockey program at UND. Their have been 11 players that have played for the team that were from North Dakota. By comparison, there have been 12 players from Europe. Many more from Canada as well as the rest of the United States. The Lammys and the rest of the hashtag activists can claim that Kennedy, Faison, UND, etc are killing the dreams of young North Dakota girls that want to play hockey for UND. But in reality, UND womens hockey coaches have been doing that for 15 years!!
  20. Only way UND moves to the BTHC (if they get an invite) is if is worth if for them financially. B1G would absolutely have to pay the NCHC exit fee. They would also have to get at least a percentage of B1G Network revenue. Demanding a "you can't kick us out" clause as Sic has mentioned probably needs to be in there as well. As far as instability goes, ?I don't think it would be as big of shakeup as people would say. Arizona St would be a likely replacement in the NCHC. I realize their arena situation isn't ideal, but adding them would cause the least amount of shakeup as well as adding another western school for the Colorado schools.
  21. Bison Dan coming over to Siouxsports and making posts and being like.....
  22. I am going to guess no. Want to wait even longer for a response? Ask them what their alternative plan that UND should have done to cut the amount of money they did while affecting the least amount of student athletes. (crickets).
