  1. There....is that better?!!
  2. Investing in the marketing of your school and athletic department happens literally at every college and univerity in America. Especially in cases like UND where you are completely re branding your athletic logo and name. The key here is that this initiative is an investment. Buy spending money now to properly market the new name and logo, they are hoping to cash in later via merchandise sales and advertising revenue. I get it. You don't like the new name and logo. But can you really be that upset that UND is trying to market their product?
  3. You mean the 39 yd TD reception by Harden? Or the 43 yd TD reception by Harden? Or are you talking about the 32 yd TD reception by Harden with 12 seconds left to win the game?!! Or one of the 42 completions by Hanson? Or maybe one of his 5 TD's en route to a record breaking 660 yards passing?!! Man, that was one hell of a game!!!
  4. USF's A.D. Josh Snyder already gave his stance via text message to KWSN. "No, I cannot imagine USF going D1, certainly not anytime soon," Snyder said. "It would cost us at least $10M more per year and probably $20M-plus in facility improvements to be competitive." That isn't on the table at all. "If football was dropped like Omaha it would be more realistic, but that isn't an option at USF."
  5. **Add - Goalpost being paraded around the field after the game
  6. The issue with the Fighting Sioux name was never about obtaining a trademark. Which is what this court ruling was all about. UND had and still does have full legal right to the Fighting Sioux trademark. The issue with the Sioux name was all about the NCAA, a private organization, and their feeling towards a members nickname and their ability to sanction that member school. The only option that UND would even have a chance for is claim the NCAA discriminated against them based on the their nickname. Even the little chance of that ever happening is not going to get UND to go back and unretire the Fighting Sioux name.
  7. UNC - I'd take them for the Summit, but what about football? Does the MVFC want to go to 12? UMKC - get them back. I have a feeling that travel costs for playing in the WAC may force their hand. Augustana - No thanks. They barely qualify as a d2 school. Don't think they can afford the move up. Also, no place for football. UMD/MSU-Mankato - The only D1 school currently in Minnesota is the UofM. There are powers that be that intend to keep it that way for a long time.
  8. So with be LED lighting, does this mean they can go back to turning off he lights for he intel? I would think so. Aound system was long overdue. I am glad to hear the Alerus is starting to take UND football game day more seriously.
  9. You aren't gonna sign a coach to a 2 year deal. Schools do it all the time for recruiting purposes.
  10. 3 Dark Horse Candidates for the FCS National Title in 2017 https://athlonsports.com/college-football/three-dark-horse-candidates-fcs-national-title-2017
  11. Why does this image instantly pop into my head when I see the new UNLV logo?!!
  12. Or they know something NDSU doesn't. And if that's the case, it might be NDSU's loss!! (Of course this is purely based on non biased opinion and not that I want NDSU football to fail all the time at everything).
  13. What, you don't like alphabet soup?!!
  14. It's never to early to schedule football I guess!!
  15. He said something about the NCAA giving a conference a 2 year window to fill if a sport dropped below the 6 for the autobid. So if Fort Wayne leaves (or any other school that puts baseball or soccer below 6) the Summit would have 2 years to find another school that sponsors those sports to fill the void. **This is according to Douple, assuming he knows what he is talking about (huge risk)
  16. That would leave the MVFC with 6 schools (Ill St, Ind St, MO St, UNIm S Ill, and Youngstown). MVFC could still remain!!
  17. Still trying to see where it says if a conference doesn't have 2 other mens sports (besides MBB) that it loses its autobid in ALL mens sports. Obviously they would lose it for that individual sport. But, if they don't meet the MBB + 2 team sports requirement of 6 schools, where does it say they lose the autobid for all?
  18. Thanks for the clarification Sic and Jdub. As usual you guys are spot on with your information. Much appreciated by all on here.
  19. So why doesn't cross country or track and field (indoor and outdoor) count as the other 2 sports that must have 6?
  20. I never got the whole ripping on the Summit for being the "NCC 2.0". Back in the D2 days, the NCC was the best, most competitive, dominant conference in all of D2. And that was rue for many sports. Especially WBB and FB. Nothing wrong with having a D1 version of the NCC cause the NCC was a great conference. And so can the Summit!!
  21. There is no way Iowa had an offer to a kid and he picked NDSU over Iowa. Sorry. Iowa is not losing recruits to NDSU. Not happening.
  22. Mid major 7 footers transfers aren't always a dominant as you think they should be (Shanks).
  23. I think NAU will benefit from an easier schedule much like we did last year. Will likely only have 1-2 conference loses all season. If we expect to repeat, we will have to win at least 7 games next year I think.
