  1. My #1 star for Saturday night goes to Dave Berger. Nice job on the national anthem. A great way to start a game at the Ralph.
  2. Please stop. Not clever anymore; just annoying.
  3. You can add Mr. Caggiula...he was up for 3 games with the Penguins in October.
  4. Another old-timer here....joined October 22, 2001. Love this forum. Speez, if you don't mind sharing...what is Kevin doing these days?
  5. Thanks. Now I'll be singing that the rest of the day
  6. Great post. I love the "don't Toews me, bro". Well done Farce.
  7. I saw Jimmy Snuggerud today against unbeaten Eden Prairie and he looked very good, especially for a freshman. Anyone know if we have a shot at him? With his dad being a former Gopher it would appear they would have the inside track.
  8. He's still ineligible for varsity until January 28th. I saw him today playing JV vs Chaska.
  9. What did Gardner do to receive his 10 min misconduct?
  10. Pairwise gurus...are we better off with a St Cloud win today vs Bemidji?
  11. Here's my prediction on NHL futures for the '15-'16 roster.....Tucker will lead the group in career games (I'll guess 918) .
  12. Anyone know if tonight's game is available online? Legally is preferred (wink).
  13. I thought Poganski was outstanding tonight - he had an extra gear on every one of his shifts. He was announced as the 2nd star (Olson 1st and Benik 3rd). Schloss commented a few weeks ago that Poganski could be a difference maker in the second half of the season. Hopefully this was an early coming out party. OD also had a great game. His first period laser was Kozek-like.
  14. At St Cloud there are two rows at the end where the opposition shoots twice. Anyone here had those seats before? I'm wondering if they were any good. Decent sight lines?
  15. Don't tell that to the Epping fans.
  16. Does anyone know if Joe Sensor's in Bloomington still shows Sioux games?
  17. I've seen Ahcan (pronounced "Ah-SHAWN") play several times. Yzerman19's assessment is spot on. It's too early too tell if he'll have Genoway's leadership abilities but he has similar on-ice skills to Chay. His development in the past year has been huge - last year he was very undersized and tentative; this year he's stronger, more confident and has taken over as the top D man on a very good Burnsville team. My guess is that he'll need only one year in the USHL. I don't know if the Sioux are interested in him (or vice versa) but historically Burnsville kids end up at Wisconsin (Dan Boeser, Tyler Barnes, Eddie Wittchow, Brock Boeser, et al).
  18. This Gersich talk reminds me of a book I'm reading titled "The Truest Character of Ignorance is Arrogance". Here is an excerpt: Once upon a time in the land of Gopher hockey there lived a king named Hammy. One day in the streets of Gopherland there was great unrest - the commoners were concerned that a player with deep bloodlines had yet to commit to play for the local team. This player went by the name Sir Shane Gersich. Upon hearing the unrest King Hammy penned out a note and gave it to the Town Crier (who went by the name GPL). GPL gathered the townspeople and read, "Hear ye a proclamation by our ruler, King Hammy....'do not fret about the lack of a committment from Sir Gersich. I am not worried'." And there was rejoicing in the streets. Three weeks thenceforth King Hammy began to hear rumors that Sir Gersich was considering playing somewhere other than Gopherland. In furtherance of preventing possible embarrassment King Hammy penned another proclamation - GPL read...."Fellow countrymen, regarding Sir Gersich...I want you to know that he is not a 'must get'. He is very young and injury prone." The townspeople were bewildered and confused but went away feeling satisfied - their mighty ruler had spoken. Two weeks thenceforth Sir Gersich announced that he was going to play for a neighboring country - the land of the Sioux. The Gopherlanders were shocked and angry. Again King Hammy came to the aid of his minions...GPL read the proclamation, "As I said, Gersich is very young with several years of development ahead of him. I rank him below many others." And there was rejoicing in the streets. And they all lived happily forever until Gersich led the Sioux to the national title in 2016. The End.
