  1. At St Cloud there are two rows at the end where the opposition shoots twice. Anyone here had those seats before? I'm wondering if they were any good. Decent sight lines?
  2. Don't tell that to the Epping fans.
  3. Does anyone know if Joe Sensor's in Bloomington still shows Sioux games?
  4. I've seen Ahcan (pronounced "Ah-SHAWN") play several times. Yzerman19's assessment is spot on. It's too early too tell if he'll have Genoway's leadership abilities but he has similar on-ice skills to Chay. His development in the past year has been huge - last year he was very undersized and tentative; this year he's stronger, more confident and has taken over as the top D man on a very good Burnsville team. My guess is that he'll need only one year in the USHL. I don't know if the Sioux are interested in him (or vice versa) but historically Burnsville kids end up at Wisconsin (Dan Boeser, Tyler Barnes, Eddie Wittchow, Brock Boeser, et al).

  6. This Gersich talk reminds me of a book I'm reading titled "The Truest Character of Ignorance is Arrogance". Here is an excerpt: Once upon a time in the land of Gopher hockey there lived a king named Hammy. One day in the streets of Gopherland there was great unrest - the commoners were concerned that a player with deep bloodlines had yet to commit to play for the local team. This player went by the name Sir Shane Gersich. Upon hearing the unrest King Hammy penned out a note and gave it to the Town Crier (who went by the name GPL). GPL gathered the townspeople and read, "Hear ye a proclamation by our ruler, King Hammy....'do not fret about the lack of a committment from Sir Gersich. I am not worried'." And there was rejoicing in the streets. Three weeks thenceforth King Hammy began to hear rumors that Sir Gersich was considering playing somewhere other than Gopherland. In furtherance of preventing possible embarrassment King Hammy penned another proclamation - GPL read...."Fellow countrymen, regarding Sir Gersich...I want you to know that he is not a 'must get'. He is very young and injury prone." The townspeople were bewildered and confused but went away feeling satisfied - their mighty ruler had spoken. Two weeks thenceforth Sir Gersich announced that he was going to play for a neighboring country - the land of the Sioux. The Gopherlanders were shocked and angry. Again King Hammy came to the aid of his minions...GPL read the proclamation, "As I said, Gersich is very young with several years of development ahead of him. I rank him below many others." And there was rejoicing in the streets. And they all lived happily forever until Gersich led the Sioux to the national title in 2016. The End.

  8. JFR, It's good to have you back. Last week I was wondering where you'd been. Enjoy the season!
  9. I was at the Cathedral-Hermantown game tonight. Poganski was very quiet...Hermantown had someone shadowing him whenever he was on the ice. Even though he had an off night his skills were still very evident... a fluid skater with Kristo-like hands. Also, he was not afraid to go into the corners. He's got a nice frame but needs to add some bulk. I'm anxious to see him when he doesn't have a target on his back. Overall impression...he's going to be fun to watch.
  10. Knight & Grimaldi
  11. Agreed. When Bo was at UND his wrist shot was NHL-ready. The rest of his game......not so much.
  12. Cory McLean played at Notre Dame and was a captain his senior year.
  13. Siouxman, Thanks for putting this together. I have about half of them figured out; still working on the rest. I think #20 is my favorite so far .
  14. Has anyone heard if Tyler Sheehy (Burnsville) is going the college route and, if so, where he might be visiting?
  15. Fri - Rowney Sat - Knight
  16. Kristo -Fri Nelson - Sat
  17. Did anyone else notice during the handshake line Saturday night that Knight was reaching across his body and using his left hand only? I'm fearing we have another injury to deal with. I hope I'm wrong.
  18. Friday: Rowney Saturday: Blood
  19. It looks like some of those games hurt the Sioux in the Pairwise. We dropped from 18th to a three-way tie for 20th. Ouch.
