No, the Saturday night game is on TV in Grand Forks and Fargo. If the Sioux can't get a sweep, then they can at least win the game that it on TV for all of us to see.

Movie clips that I have seen used at the Ralph... When the Gophs are in town, we have seen numerous CaddyShack clips... The WarGames clip where the computer tells Matthew Broderick what the primary objective is: TO WIN THE GAME!! The scene from Rudy where the Norte Dame coach is talking to his team about how "no one comes into OUR HOUSE and pushes us around!!" I don't think I have ever seen the Happy Gilmore clip, but that is a good one for them to use, that's for sure...

Hennessey was saying on the radio in Mankato that the Sioux were wearing their green road jerseys, and that after the debacle in Madison, he doubted that Blais would make them wear black again this year.

Yeah, if UND gets swept it means they SPLIT the season series with them, unlike the Gophers, who got SWEPT... But I digress... This weekend is going to be good for the following reasons. 1) The race for the Cup. 2) UND has won the previous 3 meetings, the Dawgs are on a tear and want to show the Sioux that they are a better team then what the previous 3 game results have indicated... and 3) I don't think these 2 teams like each other at all... Play was getting pretty chippy in the Saturday game in Dec... even though the 2 head coaches like each other, and some of the UND players would have been Freshman when Sandy was still UND's defensive coach, I still think these two groups of men are only 1 cheap shot on somebody's part away from a brawl... Here's to a great weekend of hockey!!

Maybe a puck to the head will actually put some knowledge of hockey into his brain, but I doubt it... Don't get me wrong, as a sportscaster, I think Sweeney is great... I don't think he's a very good play-by-play caller, though...

I was a bouncer at the BackDoor Warehouse Bar in East Grand Forks, during Blake's last year at UND, he would come in once in awhile, and he liked to take his time leaving when the bar was closed... I would watch the guy, and how he would interact with people, and I can kind of see where people might get the a bad impression of him... I never had a problem with him personally, but I know some guys from Moorehead who have known him for years, and they say he has been known to be a jerk... but of course, the guys who say that are Gopher fans...

I was at Dagwoods for the Saturday night Wisconsin game, they put the Data Flix feed up on their TV screens. The audio is Tim H., but it is delayed a few seconds, as it is internet feed...

The people who are complaining have GOT to be NDSU alumns... I want the rivalry to continue, but why should UND have to damage its strength of schedule for NDSU? Get the NCAA to change the penalties for playing out of your division, especially if you play "up", and quit whining about the fact that you won't be able to lose the Nickel to us anymore, you furry cows... NDSU can kiss off, THEY are the ones who seem to think they should get to a play a team with fewer scholarships, which they will need everyone of to beat our boys...

I have a legitimate question about the first season in the new arena... Didn't Dean Blais refuse to put his team on the ice one game until the Powers That Be let the students stand? Or am I just thinking of something that I wish he would do...? Kudos to ZPar for his apparent "calling out of President Chucky", that kid amazes me with everything he says and does, on and off the ice... Maybe he really is God on hockey skates?!?

In terms of atmosphere, the old arena wins. But you people SERIOUSLY have to get over the fact that it is GONE!!! Can we all please quit pi$$ing and moaning about the new arena being too this, too that, blah, blah, and just DO SOMETHING about it?!? To HE&& with Chucky Kupchella, he's never going to be happy with the students, BIG DEAL!!! The students should go out of their way to be the loudest, most-enthusiastic, and yet non-vulger group of fans college sports has ever heard of... I am on the side of the students, having been one not too long ago myself, but I also feel that they need to be more organized and creative in their rooting for the team, maybe then the non-student fans will catch on to what is being done and join them... It takes time to teach an extra 5-6 thousand so-called fans to bleed green and white, you know... if the rest of us just have paitence, they will come around.

Yeah, maybe the Goofers need to worry about playing defense a little more... The ironic thing is... they did pretty good defensively against UND a couple weeks ago. But I would love to hear someone say that to that smug smart a$$ Woog, that's for sure.

Here's a suggestion, and the only reason I mention this is because of the possible intimidation factor. What if, instead of the "Who's he, he #$%*..." chant, ALL of the Sioux fans in the arena start chanting, "Let's Go Sioux", during the other teams intros? The drummers in the band could keep the beat, and I think that would get really loud if we were able to get this to happen...

Sagaard, I think that the NCAA would be CRAZY if they didn't put UND and MN in completely opposite brackets, so that the only way they can meet is in the Finals...

I like the cheeleader's sign idea also... Someone mentioned using the letters CSTV, so here you go, even though it is a little lame. Cheering our Sioux To Victory!! Oh, and someone has GOT to use the sign, "On a clear night, you can see Boston from here"! That one is must have!!!

Well, let's see... Blake's last year at UND ended against BC when the seniors were shut out of the scoring column, and that was in 1999. He left school right away, sigining the free agent deal with the Kings(?). So then there was 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and now in 2004. That is 6 different years that he has been a pro, but seasons start in the fall... so 98-99, 99-00, 00-01, 01-02, 02-03, 03-04, and that still makes 6! Wow, has it really been that long?

No one ever said Baker wanted to get rid of the name. He was just trying to find a common ground so that people wouldn't complain about it. That is why when he got the job, he changed the logo to the geometric green thing that had the "good ol' boys" in an uproar. Ralph Englestad HATED that logo, he wanted the "BlackHawk" logo back. 3 Things HAD to happen at UND for that magnificent arena to be bulit. Wanless, the man who fired Gino, had to go - he did. Baker, the man who changed the logo, had to go - he resigned... and the logo had to change - and it did. I am not going to argue with you all about if UND should have accepted the gift, or if the Board of Higher Edu. should have never cowered down when Ralph threatened them, because it's a never-ending argument... and that is not the point of this post. The point of this post was to point out that Baker just got on the wrong side of Ralph Englestad, other than that, I felt that he did a pretty good job at UND. As others have stated, he was a Student's President...

Question for you all? Do the institutional standards take precedance over the NCAA standards? I thought you had to have an ACT score of 17 or 18 to play college sports, but that could have just been the standards in North Dakota... Anyone know the answer to this?

Telling you all this is going to cause me to take a LOT of CRAP from you all, but I am pretty sure Pheonix's avatar is Rena Mero... aka Sable, a female pro wrestler, valet, "eye candy" from the former WWF. She was the first woman from that company to appear in Playboy, and she sold lots of issues of that magazine... Go ahead, take your best shots at me now. You all asked who she was...
