Here's one for all you conspiracy theorists... When was the FSN TV schedule decided? Everyone keeps asking why the Thursday night game is being televised and why the Friday afternoon game is not, but no one seems to have noticed that up until this past weekend, here's what the Final Five game schedule would look like... Thurs: UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA vs. Denver University. Fri Afternoon: University of MN-Duluth vs. University of Wisconsin Fri Night (MN rule consideration) - UND vs. either UNIVERSERSITY OF MINNESOTA or Denver Sat Afternoon: Possible MN vs. either Duluth or Wisconsin. Sat Night : Possible MN vs. either Duluth or Wisconsin. Now, you guys have all been talking about conspiracy's and the "Minnesota Rule", but everybody keeps asking "Why not the Friday afternoon game?" Here is the answer: BECAUSE BY THE SEEDINGS OF THE TOURNEY, MN WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PLAYING IN THE FRIDAY AFTERNOON GAME, AND IF SOME UPSETS TOOK PLACE(which did), THEY COULD INVOKE THE MN RULE AND JUST SWITCH THE GOPHER GAME TO FRIDAY NIGHT!!! It's all about the $$$ and sense, and FSN made sure that they had TV coverage for every possible Gopher playing time... Heck, had the Goph's gotten beat by JBSU, they might have just scrapped all the TV coverage of the Final Five...

A friend of mine has tickets for the Final Five, (he's a Gopher fan, I guess no one is perfect) and he tells me that ALL FIVE GAMES ARE BEING SHOWN ON TV... I don't have cable, but I can get to somewhere to watch if the games are on... can anyone back this up??

I think it's a load of crap that Minnesota gets to play the Friday night game and the team that plays and wins on Thursday have to play right away the next day. What if the Thursday game goes to 3 or 4 OTs, is that fair that the Goophers get to play a later game, just so their whiny, corporate, snot-nosed fans can take their sweet-a$$ time getting to the game?!?

Now if we can just get that # to where it is 75-95 % non-students, that would ROCK!!!

Pat, when you have forwards that play BOTH ways as well as ours do, you don't NEED an offensive d-man. That's why Schneider's point production is down from last year, since the Sioux no longer have one line that does everything, he doesn't need to score from the blue line. Goals/points by defensemen are just bonuses. , wouldn't you agree?

I don't think the cost was why Mich. Tech stayed in GF. It was about having time to practice and still get back here for Friday, without having to waste almost 48 hours on a bus (round trip). And while it may seem a little cruel to have them rent ice in town, it's not like the kids are paying for it out of their pockets. The student body as a whole, plus the tax-payers are the ones paying for it...

Assuming UND can win the first round against Tech, and the Final Five Tournament to hold on the the #1 RPI ranking, then UND will be the #1 overall seed in the NCAA's, meaning they will be in a WCHA rink, which puts them in Colorado Springs... Hope this answers your question.

Had he not been hurt for most of this year, I'd have said, in fact I did say a few months ago, that Ben Eaves should win the Hobey. That Friday night game against the Sioux, the man was a quaterback leading BC's offense around the ice. It's a good thing the Sioux came back and won that game... Too bad they were the first team to knock him out with an injury.

DU beat CC last night, so DU has home ice locked up. Only 1 spot left, either MN or SCSU. CC is in 7th place, they will be visting the #4 team next weekend, could very well be DU. Dare we dream that the Goophers get swept by JBSU?!?

Lucia just hasn't had to do it that often, because his teams either are getting smoked or they winning... . I'll never forget that game against BC, I was on the floor, praying for a miracle, and then UND tied that game... Maybe I should have been a little more specific, since UND got a miracle to tie the game, then BC got a miracle of their own...

It was either on this board or USCHO where someone asked about superstitions, and I posted that the Sioux were undefeated when I wore both my jersey and hat during the games... Last night, my wife, our 3 kids and I went out to eat with my mother-in-law, and we got home just before the game started. I forgot to put on the jersey and hat until after the first period... once they were on, the Sioux scored, twice...
