I posted on USCHO before the season started when some Penalty Box member was talking smack about Jake Brandt being a thief, so I came back with "UND and Brandt will steal at least 4 out of 5 games from Duluth this year." That was the point for my sign idea. The kid screwed up, and if people are going to taunt him for it, we might as well help him turn it around on them, right? I mean, if the Penalty Box members are going to wear pull-tab necklaces, we might as well come up with something...

I would love to see a sign that says, "HEY BEERSONG, WATCH ME STEAL THIS GAME!!!" - Jake Brandt

Kind of like the Buffalos playing Moorehead St.? Or did they spare Moorehead this year and not play them?!?
-
Like when he called Dean Blais "bush league". I really cannot believe he got away with that one... he's lucky he never ran into Deano in a dark alley, and he's really lucky that he didn't run into Deano in a dark alley being accompanied by Mr. Jim Archibald...

Ok, son, the magic word there that you are missing is BEAT. A win = a WIN = A WIN!!!, do you understand? It doesn't matter that we BEAT SCSU by a point, or that we BEAT SDSU by a point, or that we stopped the Bison on the goal line to win in OT, or that we blew a 21 point lead to Winona, the only thing that matters is that all of those games resulted with check marks in the "W" column. I can appreciate that UNA is undefeated, and it sounds like there are some great players on your team, but if the team comes up here with the same attitude that you seem to have, UND will BEAT UNA, and maybe we will just BARELY do it!
-
HEY - Even you Bison jerks are welcome...we know you don't have anything going on anyway!!!!!
-
You pretty much nailed why UND got the home field... Strength of Schedule. North Alabamma is undefeated, but UND had a tougher schedule. North Alabamma, if they beat UND on Saturday, will HOST the National Championship Game the next week. So why not put them on the road, against a team that played tougher opponents this year, and see if they ARE as good as their record indicates? And as far as the neutral sights go, the NC$$ knows they won't make as much money off of a Division II game played at a nuetral sight as they would by making one of the two teams host. I say we all should just be happy that the Sioux will be home again for a playoff football game, and let's kick some tail!!!

Is Dru a Gamma Phi? I was wondering what house she belonged to. I have never met Dru, but I know some of the Gamma Phi alumns. I am a Pike Almun, myself. God, I hope they find her soon...

Only 7,000 at the Al for a home playoff game?

Ok, wasn't sure if you knew. I am also interested in seeing how the ticket sales go, hopefully the Sioux win and then the next game will be on TV, hopefully. -
Our Father, who art in Heaven, ... please let all of the underclassmen return to school next year to play for our beloved Sioux. Amen

It doesn't really matter, as they already declared there would be NO TELEVISED COVERAGE. I read that straight out of the Thursday edition of the GF Heraldo, and I think that sucks. I picked up an overtime shift at work, from 4 am til Noon, just so I could be home on my couch to watch the game, and now they aren't even televising it... and I live in Fargo. I did read where you can purchase the web cast, but with all of the nightmare posts I have read about hockey fans having trouble with DataFlix, I am not going that route... -
You're right, it does. My mistake. Although I don't recall Kevin Hoggsteen scoring a lot, but I only watched him play his last year. That was the year I became a devout Sioux hockey fan, when I actually started going to games, listening on the radio, etc.
-
Darn, that would have been funny...

Well, look at it this way. Our powerplay still sucks, when it comes to point production, so as long as that doesn't get great all of a sudden, we have all year for them to continue to get better at it, right? That ought to take care of the "peaking too early" problem.

David Hoogstein wore # 18, not number 8.

Are you sure, Diggler? I only saw something about this on the USCHO board, but has anyone checked this out? Just wondering.
-
And I'll say it one more time. Amen to that.

Only because Jim Archibald would have beaten the entire Circus to a bloody pulp, even if they played for his school...
-
The more I read this conversation, the harder I laugh!!!

Geez, I can't believe I didn't even spell his first name right! BTW, I edited the post. Thanks for pointing it out CRR.

I wasn't that interested in hockey when the Hrkac Circus was blowing by everybody else, so I never paid much attention to it until I was a student at UND. I started going to games in '96-'97, and I have been a devout fan ever since. From what I have heard, and from the point totals they put up, the Circus would have to be the best team for now. I hope that after this year's Sioux team leaves college, they are known as part of the best teams in Sioux history. I think they have that potential, and hopefully they will achieve it.

Nice, maybe you should send that to the entire Sioux team/staff? Although, it is always easier to judge from where we sit, isn't it? Seriously though, I don't ever remember us having this many problems on the PP. Especially at home. There was a time when it was almost a given we would get a goal out of the PP. I guess when Panzer/Lundbohm and then Bayda left, our PP sucess went with them?!?
