  1. I thought Canady left the team to concentrate on school. Or was that Connely.
  2. I have faith in what Dean Blais says. If he says they will score 100, they will...
  3. Ok, maybe you are using a different link than the one I used, but usually you can't hear anything on the internet broadcast link until a half hour before game time. Are you using the link at www.fightingsioux.com? That's the one that I used, and that's the one that wouldn't always work for me.
  4. No way, I missed 3-4 games last year because those stupid links/servers were not working. When you are 2000 miles away from ND, and spend all week looking forward to listening to the games, it really sucks to not be able to get the broadcast to work...
  5. And the Penalty Box got a stick salute!!! Even though they cheer for a rival, you have to love those guys!
  6. That was actually a penalty kill that Schneider took the face off on, I think. It was a 5-3, and the lone forward got thrown out of the circle, so Schneider had to take it.
  7. I just moved here not too long ago myself, so here is a list of possibilities for ya. Playmakers, Coaches, the Sports Bar, Buffalo Wild Wings, Tailgators. I am sure there are more, but these are the more popular bars/restaurants that come to mind. P.S. Standing Room Only tickets aren't bad, you get to stand in the BAR, for cryin' out loud!!! Nothing wrong with that.
  8. Hey, maybe Danny Irmen will be leaving school early!! (snicker, snicker)
  9. And we all know how that ended up don't we? I guess that would mean that the Goph's just have TOO MUCH firepower for Duluth, but I would love to see the BullDogs stick it to 'em!
  10. I think Blais got it right if he did what I have been hearing... He apparently has banned ALL of his players from bars until after Christmas. I think this is a good move on his part, maybe the older guys will be more proactive about keeping their younger teamates out of bars. I have no way of verifying this, it is just what I read on one of the boards, but I thought it was a good idea.
  11. Ok, you are getting this all wrong. I am trying to agree with you, I think that both you and INCH have valid points, and no, the concert DOES NOT compare to the Sioux/Bison game. I was trying to change the subject, asking you what you thought would have a lower attendance on Saturday, Nov 8, as a direct result of having 2 large events scheduled in competing arenas at the same time. I said that I hoped the Ralph would be overflowing with people, in spite of the concert going on at the Alerus, and I wanted to know what you thought.
  12. CoteauRinkRat, Not that I want to argue with you, but I do understand the Sioux/Bison game. I count down every year for that game, and most years, I end up not seeing it, as I always seem to have Guard drill that weekend. My only 2 questions are, how does the game being on Saturday affect the size of the crowd on Friday night?, and Why are you making such a big deal out what some hockey web-site guy thinks of Grand Forks? We support our hockey team pretty well, I think, and while I would LOVE to see 12,000 + people at every game, I will admit it is not realistic. So let's not worry about what this guy thinks of us, and let's talk about next week's Yale series and/or the BIG weekend after that. Here's a question for ya, which is going to suffer (attendance-wise) on NOV 8th, the Areosmith-KISS concert, or the Sioux-Gopher game? I would like to think that the game will still be packed, so here's hoping I am correct. Oh yeah, and haven't you realized that INCH, USCHO, ESPN, etc., will always point out flaws in our program, fans, city, at every oppertunity? And yet they talk up programs that have histories of questionable recruiting/eligibility, such as Michigan, Maine, and in the case of J.D. Forrest, BC?
  13. You might want to read the article a little more closely. He was talking about FRIDAY nights game, and he has a valid point. How do 500 tickets go unsold for this game? Granted, it's was "only" Boston College, not the hated Gophers, but it was billed as big matchup between two of the top 3 teams in the country, and we didn't fill the arena? That is what INCH issued the "bench minor" for, and Saturday's Sioux-Bison game didn't have anything to do with it. At least, that's the way I read it, and Saturday's hockey game crowd was even larger than Friday night's crowd, so obviously the fans just kept going all day...
  14. You're right, it is a funny piece of work. Kind of like "The Onion", isn't it? I wasn't actually trying to defend myself, but I guess it came off that way. But what guy getting hauled down by the cops are you talking about? I know for a fact it wasn't me, but this sounds like a good story.
  15. Yeah, I am the Sioux fan who stated that "championship goalies" have .920 save percentages. I was misquoted, as I was repeating something I heard on the radio. Tim Hennessey said that goalies who have .920 save percentages win championships, or at least, they SHOULD. The "Adam Hauser thing" this guy is refering to is from when I was taking shots at every Sioux fans favorite Gopher goalie, the one and only, "how do ya like me now", HUMAN SIEVE himself!!!! Apparently, this guy took offense to my poking fun at ol' Adam, so he had to write this article. I have to commend him for his research with all those other goal-tenders' save percentages, though. He IS right about one thing though, I did say that Adam Hauser only won because of the team in front of him, and I won't EVER retract that statement.
