I have been asking this question for the past 7 years! Not one person, not even a nickname opponent can answer this one for me!

I have 2 words to describe my feelings on DEVIL's LAKE Tribe withdrawing its support for the nickname... WHO CARES?!?! The University of North Dakota is a state-funded school, it is not funded by oh, how do I put this, by a reservation! I have NEVER seen anybody (mis)represent the school or any of its athletic teams in a way that should be considered offensive by anybody. I am so sick and tired of this crying, whining, name-calling, crap that you nickname opponents insist on carrying on! People in this world live in poverty, filth, and warzones, but you people are crying and whining about a simple NICKNAME!!! The name doesn't even have any connection to the Native American tribes, according to the head of the United Tribes! I saw him on Outside the Lines on ESPN, talking about how the tribes real names are the LAKOTA, the DAKOTA, and the NAKOTA. So if NONE of them are actually "SIOUX" people, then there shouldn't be a problem. Yes, there is a problem. The problem lies in the fact that we established a reservation system and created a segregated state between Native Americans and those of us descended from Europeans/Scandanavians. Whining about something this stupid will not change the fact that we live in a country that seperates people just because of things that happened over 200 years ago!

As much as I would love to see Mr. Prpich get his fists to meet with that jerk's face, I hope all the boys take the high road and just beat Denver on the scoreboard. That said, let me say that I am ashamed that I missed seeing this great win over the Gophs. I am not sure if there is anywhere on this base where I can get regular ol' ESPN and ESPN2, but I had planned on waking up at 2:30 am and trying to find one! I didn't wake up until 6 am this morning, and the first chance I got, I checked the scores on the internet! Odds are I can find regular ol' ESPN, so hopefully I can get my butt out of bed in the middle of the night and watch on Saturday! Just a question, anyone with TIVO or something like that... is it possible to put recorded shows on to DVDs? It doesn't matter whom the Sioux have to face, althogh we all still want a total WCHA Frozen Four... We just beat MN last weekend, and Denver only got by us when Adam failed to call a 5-minute major on them! Cornell could win, and DU could lose, which could totally throw my logic off, but why dwell on details?

As someone else already stated, we have a real legitimate shot at an all-WCHA Frozen Four... Geez, ESPN probably wouldn't even carry the games... Have to admit I don't understand the selection process, but I take it the process screwed CC again. Too bad for them... They are a tough team, and I think this year is the one where they finally get over on Michigan and make the FF. Denver should be thanking their lucky stars that they got a region with no other WCHA teams in it. I know I wouldn't have minded seeing the Sioux return the 2nd-round "favor" they gave our boys last year, but oh well. The Sioux get to play "ESPN dream-slayer" and knock off not one, but TWO Hockey (L)East teams... Did anyone else hear the guy on TV who was talking about MN vs. Maine in the first round, and how when they met for the championship in 2002 that Maine won? It wasn't until he SAW that traitor slide one through Jimmy Howard's 5-hole that he corrected his blunder... What a joke... They spend all season showing bare minimum highlights from college games, and when the post season starts, they get the coverage rights? I wish CSTV (are they still around?) would be able to cover the FF, at least they are dedicated to college sports alone... Anyways, I head back to Iraq on (not-so) Good Friday. I will follow the Sioux's drive to Columbus from there! May the Green and White continue to shock the college hockey world until there are no more games left to play this season... GO SIOUX!!!

Hey Diggs, I took your picture last night out on the concourse. I made you turn around so I could get the flag you were wearing draped over you. I didn't even know who you were, I just wanted a picture of a guy wearing a UND flag for a cape. So what's this story about countdown to Peluso's career?

Peluso didn't cheap shot EVERYONE, I noticed that he went out of his way to avoid Mr. Prpich the entire weekend. I guess he still remembers the time Mike worked him like a $2 hooker a couple of years ago... This was the only series I got to go and see the Sioux play this year. I've been in Iraq since December, and my 2 weeks of leave happened to occur when the playoffs started. Now I will get to see the Final 5 also, since all the games are televised this year. I thought the Sioux played extremely well, (I know they have been having problems hitting the back of the net all year) and are finally getting rewarded for their hard work. The senior class will be the ones that decide how far this team goes, and right now they are playing like they want to go out on top. I hope that everyone going to the Final 5 next weekend has a great time, and make sure to give the Goofer fans he$$!! Go Sioux!

From what I have read, UND turned it over on their own 15, stopped GVSU on 4th down from the 7, and then drove to GVSU territory, where they got a FG attempt blocked, which led to GVSU scoring on their next drive... Go Sioux!!!

Ok, I found the channel to watch the Sioux from Devils Lake. 2 things I noted, CC came out skating harder, but the Sioux were able to only give them 1 shot for half a period. Second thing, UND looked exhausted with about 8 minutes to go in the game, which is when CC started taking over... I don't know what to say about this team, they have talent, but they don't seem to be able to dominate offensively the way we are used to seeing as fans... They are not a bad team, by any means, they ARE a good team, and only time will tell if they can become a great team...

Anyone know what channel I watch in Devils Lake to see the game? It is on the cable channel, right?

Ok, I am home on leave from the Army for 20 days, of which I have about 13 to go, and here is what I am noticing about my beloved Sioux Hockey Team this season... They can't come from behind... Although this might not be a fair statement, since they did come from behind against the Gophers... They can't hold a lead... At least, not against NorthEastern... I have not seen the Sioux play yet this year, I am hoping to get to go to one of the CC games next weekend, but it will be hard squeezing in time to go with all of the family and friends that want to see me before I ship overseas in a month... Can somebody tell me, how in the HE## we are being outshot by other teams?!? The team was supposed to miss scoring from Bo and Parise, but with 8 defensemen returing, how is it that the defense is screwing us over?!? I also can't believe people are calling for Coach Hak's head and crying for Dean Blais to come back... NEWS FLASH... DEAN BLAIS CHOSE HIS REPLACEMENT... IN BLAIS WE TRUST.... ALWAYS... Go Sioux!!!

WPOS, I would think that the Gophers would love to have a least ONE of our goalies, since I don't think you have anyone worth mentioning behind Briggs. Granted, I haven't paid much attention to the Gopher roster, so please, fell free to correct me if I am wrong...

So, in playoff type games, to include college, the score is Karl G. - 3 Ryan Miller - 0 That's why I will always say Panzer was robbed. Miller wasn't even the best goalie in college hockey that year, let alone the best player...

I thought that for a SINGLE GAME, a suite was about $2000 bucks to rent. I could be wrong, but the fraternity that I am an alumnus of had a suite for one of the Mich. Tech games at the end of this past season, and it was $99 bucks a person to get a ticket to watch the game. I didn't go, I wish I would have, but oh well...

No, they probably changed it from "cake-eater" to "candy-ass" because they had already went the "cake-eater" route in the Mighty Ducks movie... It was a great movie, though... I remember in 1980, my parents told me that the US Hockey team had beaten the Russians, but I didn't understand what that really meant. I was only 4 & 1/2 at the time, and I tried watching the gold medal game, but I didn't understand hockey, so I quit watching it. Wish I could go back in time and slap myself...

Now that I have been straightened out regarding the fact that this topic already existed on this board ( and deleted my thread that I started), I want to throw in my 2 cents worth... Yeah, it sucks UND only plays MN one series, but at least they are playing in GF, not at the Goofer barn. Canisius? Well, maybe Deano wants to get Zajac, Spirko, and his other freshman to be able to score as many points as Zach did his freshman year... The NorthEastern-BC trip looks like a great hockey weekend, and I think Bemidji St. will be tougher than a lot of people are expecting them to be... It's not a cupcake schedule, by any means... I am looking forward to yet another year of Sioux hockey.

That's what happens when superstars are asked to "carry" teams. Malone, along with Stockton, carried everyone else in Utah for years, and Payton did pretty much the same in Seattle. If you were like them, and had the chance to sign up with say, the Wizards, you would demand a lot of money, too. Same with Karyia and Selanne. They couldn't be together in Duckville, so they went to Colorado... I guess all 4 feel it's better to be considered a champ than to be more rich than they already are... unlike a certain UND player who just became a millionaire... But I wish Zach well, even though I wanted him to stay at UND.

Ok, even better. I was just giving them 1 win for being the defending champs, but I like your idea more...

Stupid, stupid, stupid Devils. They have the best 19 year player in the world signed to a contract, and they are just gonna let him sit there... I hope they lose in 5 games...
