I just now figured out that Diggler and Dirty are one and the same...
-
That was Schmidt who retired... the one guy who I always thought seemed to cut UND a break once in awhile...
-
Amen to that, stupid mullet-wearing Itallian...

How does the definition of "possession" change depending on the situation? In this case, with the high-stick, the oppossing team has to have control of the puck to nulify the playing of the puck with the high-stick, right? But if it is a delayed penalty call, "possession of the puck" then just becomes the touching of it by the team with the penalty being called against them? It seems to me as if hockey in general is doulbe-talking through its own rules.

Ok, first let me apologize for not specifying when he said what I was talking about. It was the weekend UND had Yale at the Ralph, and MN had Denver at home, I think. That was when Woog stated the comment about the 3 good teams. My point was that since then, UND went to Denver and kicked the snot out of them, but according to Woog, UND hasn't played anybody. And if he stated that this weekend the 2 best teams in the country are going to go at it, then I have to admit that I actually agree with him... The Sioux PP is very suspect right now. It will show up every once in awhile, ie., against UAA or Tech, but it hasn't been very good this year. I don't think they attack the net enough, but what do I know? It's not our PP I like, but I love our penalty kill, so that should be a good matchup for the Gopher series...

Ok, how about this? When Minnesota got beat by some team earlier this year, at HOME, Woog made the comment that "well now we know there are 3 good teams in the WCHA this year, Minnesota, Duluth, and DENVER..." (or something similar to this) I put emphasis on Dever here, because UND went into Denver and SWEPT DU, but yet "UND hasn't played ANYBODY!!!" I know what the man's job is, and that he was once the coach there, so it shouldn't get to me too much, but what does UND have to do to get some respect from him?!?

A penalty is a penalty, no matter when it happens, right? That is not good for the league, to have one of its refs being quoted on the radio saying something like that...
-
Sorry, but if you're going to use it, you have to give credit to who said it. And I figure that is how UND or anyone who wins the NCAA tournament this year should accomplish that feat, by HAVING to face MN and beating them. That's all I meant by it, sorry for the source of the quote.

Yeah, somebody living in Forks please get on this and find out, please.

Here are my own personal feelings about the Gophers and teams worrying about facing them in the playoffs... As the 2 time defending national champs, they should be put into the tournament so that someone has to take their title from them! "If you want to BE the man, you have to BEAT the man!" - Ric Flair Think of how sweet it would be to knock them off on a run to Boston...
-
Everyone edit your posts, and make sure that you complain about the refs in a constructive manner!!!

Wasn't that the game that the LIVE gopher got tossed out on the ice? That was great!!! Too bad I was stuck at home watching it on TV that day.
-
Yeah, let's try to keep the flaming to a minimum... or take it over to USCHO.
-
Nothing against JPar, but I'd go with Brandt.
-
CRR, I can see Pat Eaves not impressing you much, the only thing he did was have staredown with ZPar after a little after-the-whistle action, but Ben didn't impress you? I thought he was the best player on the ice until he got injured, and that's even WITH my green colored glasses on...
-
While I like the pun, I don't think you a person should go to another team's message board and use a name like "pileofcraponice". Geez, even Happy(USCHO regular) wouldn't pull something like that... although he might now, if you've pushed him to it.
-
Amen to that... And SiouxFaninBoston, it was MIKE Eaves who was "quoting" Ralph, at least in all of the articles I read, it was. But we all know what you meant.
-
Lets' keep the pressue on... keep it in their end.

3-1? What in the heck is it with the USA having so much trouble with Canada... you'd think they invented hockey or something...
-
Here's the link to Canada's radio coverage. It worked the other day when USA played Finland well. http://www.fan590.com/

Yeah, thanks! GO USA!!!

Here is this week's bench minor issue by INCH. **** To the college hockey message board writer who recently accused INCH of plagiarizing ideas from an online thread. Anyone who knows anything about INCH knows that our ideas are plagiarized exclusively (with NO exceptions) from ESPN

If those 6 guys you mentiond can be rotated and produce when it is their turn to play... we are sitting pretty good. Now, by "rotated", I mean that if a guy has a questionable game/couple days of practice, put one of the other guys in his spot and hope for the best. Or if someone gets dinged up, same thing. This is a DEEP team, and as long as everyone produces when they get their chance, the team should do quite well.
-
Ok, we have a BIG weekend coming up at St. Cloud. We all know that we are missing 3 players who are kicking a$$ at the World Juniors, but this past weekend we got great production out of some guys who we needed to step and show that they can play. In particular, the line of Hale-Palmo-Marvin stepped up, along with James Massen, who finally got his first goal. The d-men and the goal-tending are still dominating, so let's avoid another second-half swoon, and send St. Cloud back to the cellar of the WCHA! Go SIOUX!!!
-
Don't even THINK that!!! It is scoreless after 2 periods, the Sioux can't seem to bury the puck.
