I wanna say Haviland carried 30 guys on the roster last season. Not sure what the NCAA limit is, if there is one, but not a bad idea to carry a few extra non-scholarship guys in case of injuries.

The tone of your post sounds like you take delight in stating UND isn’t of the same academic standing/prestige as the affiliates or the B1G. Anyone who’s planning on going out for this UND/Penn State game must hit Hattie B’s Hot Chicken! Went out to Nashville to play in a beer league hockey tournament last year and we went there for lunch one day. Stood in line for 45 minutes outside and it was so worth the wait!

And yet, despite all of Sandelin’s successes, he still will make less than Coach Mike Haviland at C.C. I do not say this to brag, in fact, I think it’s downright ridiculous that he’s one of the highest paid coaches in the country and he hasn’t accomplished anything during his tenure at CC.

I met Peter Stoykewych at a Colorado Springs Sky Sox baseball game of all places. He and some other CC players were there signing autographs and they saw me wearing a Winnipeg Jets shirt. Very cool guys. This story Peter shared about college hockey is one of many reasons why I think it’s the greatest game on earth.

Kennedy is an a hole IMO but the CU Boulder folks are even bigger a holes so I’m glad he got elected as the next CU system president.

No, I meant lucky in that many of their stud players tend to stick around longer than expected (Larrson notwithstanding). I wish we had guys of the caliber of Gambrell, Terry, and Lukosevicius sticking around to at least their junior, sometimes senior seasons. Jost was gone after one season.

All I know is, the DU hockey program collectively has one huge magic horseshoe up their arse.

Any rule that says we need to go after a UND hockey alum? DU seems to do alright bringing in non-DU guys. Mannino to me seems intriguing, if especially if what someone on this board said about him being a great recruiter.

Yep, I mentioned that in my post. I meant that he lost his head coaching position when they elevated to the AHL.

I think bringing in a guy with bonafide experience and success in the broomball league like @MafiaMan is the route the team should go. @MafiaMan‘s broomball team had the #1 powerplay in the entire metro twin cities area!

He was awfully successful with the Colorado Eagles, winning back-to-back Kelly Cup championships. Why he wasn’t retained once the Eagles were elevated to the AHL is beyond me but I guess he’s an assistant there.
