I’m watching the Penn State/Wisconsin game and the atmosphere looks and sounds electric there in Happy Valley. All the fans are wearing white in unison and they’re vocal. I’d love to go out there for a road series against them.

Seems clear to me that the B1G has made hockey second fiddle to football. As long as they continue to do that, I don’t see B1G hockey growing and prospering as much as it potentially could.

Normally these games seem to be settled by one goal. I think Bemidji will be a scrappy opponent but I think UND will prevail by at least 3 goals. 4-1, UND.

Schlossman reported that every third year in the series with Bemidji, they do a 2-game series at the Ralph. Anyone know why that is? Is it leverage?

A few years ago, when UND played BC at MSG, Dave Starman commented how Jerry York was recruiting bigger, heavier players. Perhaps he might have more success with the smaller, quicker forwards that he had so much success with from 2000-2012?

I was never a huge Simonson fan over the four years but I’ll never forget him scoring UND’s first goal of the 2016 national tournament game against Northeastern.

This will be a good learning experience having gone into a really good team’s barn this early in the season and playing two closely contested games. Even though we didn’t come away with a win, I bet this series will help prepare us, especially down the road when going on the road in the first half of the season, facing the likes of Denver, Western, and St. Cloud.

I feel that the oddsmakers call for a Mankato victory but I see this UND team coming in with something to prove....UND wins tonight 5-3 (empty netter) on the strength of our defense and goaltending being the difference maker between the two teams.
