The Ivy’s. What’s their deal? Is it some highbrow thing to play fewer games?

That’s not true! They’ve been winning the coveted Pikes Peak trophy almost every year now! The most prized trophy in all of college hockey!

I’m no expert but just using the eye test having watched him play quite a bit, he’s a solid player. Will he put up 20-30 goals? -Probably not but he has some scoring touch and can play on the PK and other situations. If one were to ask Kris Mayotte if he’s happy losing him, I would bet he’d say no, that it’s a loss to the team for sure. I’m excited to see what he can do at UND. There’s a highlight of a goal he scored against Duluth last year where he has the foresight to jump up in the play and absolutely out hustles the defender and takes the puck hard to the net and scores. Hopefully that’s what we see next season with him.

This is a big loss for an Omaha team already short on talent.

I’d be curious to know how his path led him to CC. I wonder if he was initially recruited by UND or not. I wish him and his brother all the success at UND.

I honestly don’t know how the sausage gets made, that’s why I was asking but I suspected that’s the case-it’s a free for all and I’m sure Mayotte, like all other coaches, isn’t sitting on the sidelines, waiting for players to contact him either.

Is that how it works in the off season? Can programs openly contact players from other programs and see if there’s any interest in coming over? Or does the player/player’s agent need to initiate that? If it’s the former, I could see how annoyed Kris Mayotte might be losing one of his key pieces.

That is true. A lack of scoring and scoring depth was a huge problem for CC.

Lindberg didn’t put up eye popping numbers but just from the eye test watching him play, I thought he was solid.

Every day that passes and I don’t see Max Burkholder or Mats Lindgren entering the transfer portal is a good day for me. As early as February, fan on GPL were name dropping Burkholder as a possible target.

Interesting seeing Burrows from Denver enter the portal. He appeared in 43 games.

Agreed. The system we have in front of us just seems a bit sleazy and slimy. You wonder how much there are secret conversations going on long before today between players’ agents and other programs.
