  1. To Anchorage’s credit, they seemed to play a “bend but don’t break” system last night, packing their players in tight around their goalie. Mantha made some outstanding saves but his teammates also blocked a lot of UND’s shots too. Seemed like UND just couldn’t break through the wall that the UAA players had in front of their goalie. UND did not cash in on a couple of gaping nets but Anchorage also had an open net where Cam came up huge while UND was killing a penalty in the first period. I’d also argue that most other goalies wouldn’t have made a save on UAA’s goal-that was just a snipe thanks to a d zone breakdown by North Dakota. UND is pretty young and raw and we saw that but I am confident the they will gel and get better as the season goes along.
  2. So frustrating....Anchorage blocked a lot of shots, the Seawolf goalie played outstanding, and UND missed the net quite a few times.
  3. This Seawolf goalie is making some really nice saves on some great looks for UND.
  4. And then a UND defenseman made a beautiful tape-to-tape pass in their own end...to a Seawolf player...
  5. Starting to experience some buffering issues.
  6. Hopefully UND continues the great cycle play in the Seawolves zone and that it wears them down as the game progresses. Maldonado, the captain for Anchorage left the game with what appears to be a leg or foot injury.
  7. UND a little carefree in their own zone but no damage done.
  8. It froze up on me using the iPad and WiFi so I’m now watching it on the lap top w/o WiFi and the reception is much better albeit a little jumpy here and there.
  9. I think Mikey Eyssimont has a huge season for St. Cloud. Huge miss in DU not landing this kid...wonder if he was even on their radar?
  10. ....and we gotta minimize giving up a quick goal immediately following us scoring a goal. Need good shifts following goals scored; it seemed to be an emotional let down for the players and fans alike last season when this would happen.
  11. I picked up my UND/DU as well as CC/DU tickets yesterday! If anyone plans on going to the UND/DU series, you should get your tickets soon as there will be a lot of UND fans there (as usual) but I'm predicting a lot of Pios fans too wanting to gloat as well as wanting to see DU sweep us. Best place to get your tickets is at http://www.denverpioneers.com/
  12. I remember seeing UND play some team from Russia called Dynamo at the old Ralph back in about '83 or so. Perhaps the NCAA rules have changed since then.
  13. And still no early departures for DU...
  14. I stand corrected....it was his junior year he had his personal best scoring-wise. That said, Rowney was a great example of what a hard working 4 year student-athlete looks like. Pogo will be a fantastic captain.
  15. I think both you guys are right about Pogo and Rowney. Rowney did have a break out year scoring-wise his senior year and he and Pogo share a lot of traits.
  16. On NHL Network this morning, the talking heads were saying that Oshie is/was Washington's most complete player. I wonder if the Capitals have the cap space to sign him as I bet he's going to get a huge raise where ever he goes. What does he currently make, about $4.5 mill right now?
  17. Granted he went low in the draft but he's been drafted nonetheless so in his mind, he's got a lot at stake and being a consistent healthy scratch isn't going to help him develop so I don't fault him one bit for transferring to CC where he'll get to play hockey with his kid brother. Plus, given the lack of talent as compared to UND, he should have no problem cracking the lineup as well as being out on the ice in key situations.
  18. I think a guy could get arrested for posting his D on a public forum like this.
  19. I wish I could take credit for that fine work of art but I can't. However, I thought it would work well for the redesigned sweaters!
  20. Is Rowney playing tonight for Pittsburg? I haven't heard his name.
  21. I say yes-the guy is a chump, he hasn't accomplished a thing in Chicago in over a season. Fire Quennville and hire Haviland!
