I grew up in Minnesota, I live in Minnesota, I go to college in Minnesota (not a Gopher), and I like all Minnesota sports teams, EXCEPT THE GOPHER HOCKEY TEAM! I will never root for Duluth or CC or any other team in the WCHA. I am a diehard Sioux fan. People ask me why I like Sioux hockey when I live in Minnesota. Because I live 20 minutes from the best hockey team in the country and because the Gopher hockey team is cocky, cheap, and their punks. Oh yeah and the Sioux have 7 championships and the Gophers have a measly 5!

Did I read that right or are my eyes playing tricks on me. I swear it's talking about the Sioux Bison rivalry and says that they have chosen to destroy the most exciting rivaly in college athletics. Michigan and Ohio St. ring a bell. I can't believe someone really typed that.

Columbus Bluejackets? Are you kidding me? I don't know why anyone in there right mind would want to coach there. Blais gets more recognition coaching the Sioux. Heck the Alaska-Anchorage coach gets more recognition than the Columbus coach right now. I think it would be a huge step down for Blais if he does take a job with Columbus. However, if any other team in the NHL offered Deano a job, except for maybe Nashville, I would say go for it. Just make sure that you know you can win the first year otherwise you'll be back looking for a job in college hockey. NHL coaches have less job security than a paperboy.

Would someone please remind me why I am a Sioux fan. Oh yes, I remember now. 1) The Sioux are really really good. 2) They have more championships than anyone else in their conference. 3) They play in the nicest arena in the world. 4) The alternative would be cheering for the Gophers 5) If I cheered for the Gophers I would turn into an arrogant and cocky punk like NealBrotenPlayedForTheGophers As anyone with a brain can see the pros far outweigh the cons.

I heard both the Lucia and Blais interviews on the show this morning. To me it sounded like Lucia was almost nervous and Blais seemed pretty relaxed. You could really tell that Lucia wasn't that thrilled to be on the show. Blais was crackin' jokes with P.A. & Dubay and having a good time. Players in any sport take the attitude that their coach has. If Lucia doesn't loosen up in the next couple hours it could be deja vu. I don't think the Gophers know what the Sioux are bringing to the rink tonight. Everybody saying what close games these are going to be. I don't think the Gophers have anybody to stop the Parise, Bochenski, and Murray line. All I have to say is the Mariucci staff better replace the red light bulbs because they are going to be on all night. Go Sioux!

I couldn't agree more! It's just not fun when you don't hate the other teams in your conference. DaveK, do you hate anyone? It sounds like you're the nicest guy in the world. I do have one question for you. Would you rather see the Chargers or the Broncos win the Super Bowl if the Raiders weren't in it? If you would that's amazing. I would be shocked if you could find one Vikings fan who would rather see the Packers win the Super Bowl than some other team from a different division. To me it doesn't seem right to root for more than one team in a league. You pick a team and you stick with them. You don't pick two teams and then move to the other one if one team is out of it. That's cheating. Pick a favorite team!

That segment on PA & Dubay was so biased and unfair. I don't mean to sound like a whiner but my god! They said they got an e-mail saying that Bochenski said on the news that the Gophers are the s**t. Then Potulny said that he doesn't know why the Sioux fans were making such a big deal about the series. He said it's just another series. First off, is Potulny on drugs? Yes of course we are making a big deal about it. It's the Sioux vs. Gophers. The teams are the two best teams in the WCHA (well we at least know the Sioux are). It should be made a big deal everytime these teams play. Gopher fans are making just as big a deal about this series as Sioux fans. Secondly, I didn't see the news on Bochenski but I totally agree with him. The Gophers and there fans think they're "the s**t." However, I think the Sioux are "the s**t." Go Sioux!

I'm going to be out in Washington D.C. this weekend and I was wondering if anyone knew of any bars that carry either UND or MN sports so I could watch the Sioux and Gophers games.

I voted for the most player whom I thought was most deserving of the award, Brandon Bochenski. You make a good point though. I guess I could see a lesser school voting for their best player if he is having a great year. It looks like this Ross kid is having a great year but I don't think he as good as Bochenski. That's why Ross plays at Alabama and Bochenski plays at the best college hockey school in the country. If Bochenski keeps it up I don't know if anyone could catch him. He is so good it's scary.

Can anyone tell me why this kid, Jared Ross, is leading Bochenski by almost double the votes. I did some research on the stats between these two players this year and Ross obviously not that good to be leading Bochenski by almost double the points. I found that Ross only leads Bochenski in two categories. Points per game and Short-handed goals. The only reason he leads Bochenski in Points per game is because he has played 5 fewer games. In Short-handers Ross has one and Bochenski doesn't have any. To myself, these two categories don't warrant the lead that Ross has on our boy. Is this kid still allowed in any UND buildings? I would throw him out of school in a heart beat. How could he ever write his name on a test or something. The teacher would fail him for sure. What a dope! That's probably what he's on. One could argue that Mariucci's energy level is very high. One could also argue that the REA's energy level is very high. What makes McShane the expert on energy levels in college hockey arenas. Can you say SPECULATION. Who gives a crap about energy level anyway? We all know which arena has the better team.

The old Ralph was amazing. I was introduced to hockey and to the greatest college hockey program in the world. Watching some of the greatest hockey players UND has ever had such as: Jeff Panzer, Jason Blake, and who can forget Karl Goehring. Some great moments in the old Ralph. I can remember getting chills when the fans in the old Ralph would go nuts while playing the Gophers. The hostility that the old Ralph had was amazing. The student section and the diehard loud fans wasn't matched by any other team. I think it's only a matter of time before the new Ralph has that same hostility. One could argue that it already has that hostility.

I was content with a tie on Saturday. I was listening to the game on the internet and it didn't sound like the refs were that bad from a listening stand point, BUT I know how Mason is as a ref. He couldn't make a call to 911! I do remember recall UAA being a clingy team. This is maybe a good thing for the Sioux. The players realize that if you don't play with max effort for both Friday and Saturday nights a mediocre team will hang in there and sneak out a win or tie. It's scary to think that the Blais is disappointed about this game. There is no way I want to be Mich Tech next weekend when Zach, Brady, and Stafford are rested and Blais is not happy. I can't wait! Go Sioux!

I have mixed feelings about the situation. On one hand you have to shoot and the Lord knows the Sioux don't shoot nearly as much on PP as they could. On the other hand Blais does have a point about not yelling at the team to shoot because it gets them rattled. As of right now I would say don't boo them because it's not like we are a bad team. We are #1 in the nation! As long as the boys keep getting the job done give them a little slack. As for Campion. The WCHA needs to recognize that there is a problem with the refs. It is getting ridiculous. God forbid, but I am afraid one time some boneheaded moron from another team will be hanging on Zach and Zach will get injured because the dang refs don't want to make the call and put the underdog team down shorthanded. It's like Jeff Panzer and Jason Blake all over again.

Did this moron even watch the game? That was one heck of a game in the end. To bad the Sioux couldn't have scored in the end to send it to OT. That would have been awesome. Also, way to just jinx your team bud. Now there is no way you'll win your 3rd straight because you talked about it. Way to blow it genius. Go Sioux
