I think everyone should state who they would hire so that in 10 years we can either applaud or make fun of your choices. Realistic choices only.

Not sure why Sam Knuth decommitting has us thinking Caruso to UND. Knuth seems like an okay QB prospect. Most of his offers were of the pioneer type, I believe.

If Fruechte is ultimately named, are we really confident he won’t retain much of the staff, including defense? I like him, I really do but I don’t know, he’s probably not my top choice. He’s my top choice to be OC next year though unless of course Danny is hired but I just don’t see it.

Could also be because we didn’t have any sort of defense. Last two playoff Ls have been 35-42 and 31-38.

Why is it too soon? If this would have happened last year, I think he’d be our head coach right now. I don’t think he will be the guy now but I do think that will be a mistake. I know he only has one year outside of UND so it goes against the outsider want. Idk if I was the AD I’d hitch my name to his. Think he’s going to be a star.

Can we afford Caruso?

The positive of hiring Fruechte is more likely to retain current players and recruits. While there is a lot of excitement about this recruiting class, don’t think that should factor in to the decision process. There are going to be more talented players available this year than probably ever before with the FBS roster limit. Plenty of opportunity to flip a program around quickly.

I don’t disagree that I want youth but probably the best hire of last years cycle was Curt Cignetti….. Bolte is only 47. If he wasn’t at Bemidji but at another D2 school, I think there would be more of an appeal from the fan base.

I like Fruechte, he may very well be an up and comer but what exactly has he done to be an exciting hire? A year ago he was just an OC at a middle to bad D2 school. Idk, I’m going to support whoever but not sure I’m sold.

He would be without a job if the new hire doesn’t keep him no matter if he took the interim position….

If it’s a defensive head coach, I can see retaining Fruechte, Olson and maybe Kirkwood. If it’s not, I think it may be just about best to clean house.

My opinion of Bolte is probably skewed based off him only being at Bemidji State. Not the sexiest place to hire from. But his numbers don’t really lie.
