I liked what I saw from Cashman in this game. I have been liking what he provides a lot more than Shanks lately. Better rebounder and does not seem to force his offensive game nearly as much as Shanks does.

Hooker is clearly our best player, its not even close. My question is what does he have to do in his junior and senior season to get looks from the NBA and possibly being drafted? I think it is probably a long shot beings he doesn't have much height and probably isn't fast enough to overcome that. I just think it is interesting to think about.

Not sure if we still had an offer out to Brady Ernst but he tore his ACL last night. Would definitely be a good get still, just redshirt him next season.

If people think Jones doesn't necessarily deserved to be fired, fine. But don't tell me that you don't think there are better options out there that would do significantly better with the talent here. I don't want to hear the whole "he doesn't get paid enough". It's not as if paying him more will make him a better coach. I guarantee we can find a better head coach than Jones by giving them the same salary he has. Now if we do fire him I would guess we up the pay a bit but I'm just saying. Anybody who has any sort of basketball knowledge or common sense in general can see that this team and last years team could be so much better if they were just well coached!

The fact that Shields didn't play in the second half is ridiculous. I don't even know if he played after he went on a little 6 point run. Stupid. Shanks has shown potential at times this year but he needs to get the mental aspect down. Gets too frustrated and shows terrible body language and takes his frustration out on stupid fouls.

I'm guessing he is referring to an assistant. Gfhockey has already stated that the guy they would have wanted is Smith but it's too late probably.

From what I have seen from Shields I would not doubt it being a 10 foot hoop. He has some serious bounce and I believe Crandall does too.

I am going to agree with you on this. I really badly want UND to join the Summit or at least join the Dakota schools. Also, having Denver and Omaha would be cool too due to hockey. I really question what the advantages are of the Big Sky?

I think its very fair to discuss. This is a fan board filled with discussion and speculation. At the end of the day, we the fans do not have a say on whether Jones is fired or not. I do agree that there are a lot of games that with a few breaks we could be above .500 in conference play but I think a lot of that has been due to coaching. There have been many times where there has been coaching mistakes late in games that cost us. Also was just looking at MSU-Moorhead's roster and noticed that Arroyo Edwards ended up there. He was a big talk last season about coming here but I thought he had committed to UTSA.

Okay so Fire Jones is constantly brought up every gameday and I agree a change should be made but my question is who are ever some candidates to replace him? The only one I can think of is Ryan Moody but that would be quite the jump from I believe a NAIA school.

I disagree. Montana State had about 10 possessions, maybe a little less, where they would just ISO right away and scored on most of them. It took forever for Jones to finally call a timeout and make an adjustment.

You play your best players. Cashman and Shanks are much better that Calc or Salmonson.

Who are the top realistic targets out there? I have to imagine Jost and Fabbro are high up on everyone's lists.

Looking to see a lot of minutes from Shields. Really want to see some putbacks from him.

Shields is going to provide some electricity that Nash has provided. I don't know if he can handle the ball like Nash or his range but I really like what I see from Shields. Personally. Nash has been very frustrating for me this season. He has been putting up some points but he forces shots and just doesn't seem that smart with the ball. That is just my 2 cents. Would love to see a lineup next year of: 1. Hooker 2. Crandall 3. Seales 4. Shields 5. Shanks Would be a fun team to watch and could be very good. Throw in De Rouen, Tyler, Coleman, Cushman all coming off the bench, and any of them with a chance to start, and that could be a good team. Just need SHAY to do a good job of coaching them up from the assistant spot.
