POI People are saying Spirko is going to UMN... Heisenberg site is down so I don't know for sure... perhaps that info was old.
-
Both teams come out the same entrance? That's gotta be fun if the team or teams are frustrated
-
We could approach the most penalties in a game tonight. I don't think so, but that's what TH says. I think the MSUM vs UMN game last year had 22 penalties combined.
-
Deleted that. Adam would probably put him in the box for a 5x3 if he saw the post
-
Jones in for 4 I guess. This call may not be a bad call.
-
Bah. Bo will get it eventually. As for Parise, same old same old Gosh he's good.
-
GOAL!! McMahon! I wonder who the MSUM scorekeepers will give it to? Smaby?
-
I believe it was Porter too. However, you're right PCM. Hennessy just said that they don't even have Fylling's goal on the shot chart so. BTW- I wouldn't be surprised that the consistency of Adam remains in that we'll get 5 more penalties in each period against the Sioux. 15 penalties would be an Adam specialty. I wonder if MSUM will be penalized more than 5 times for the whole game
-
I suspect Providence will come back to beat Maine. They do every year.
-
Evidentally, we have Adam two weeks in a row. If that is true, I'm sure he'll do his best to ensure UMD gets the McNaughton. Hale gets the goal instead of Porter I guess now.
-
Based on Zaba's performance last week, I wonder if I'd even start McElhinney this weekend.
-
Stafford has been floating around between center and wing this season. As for last season, I wouldn't know. I didn't follow him while he was at SSM.
-
I've noticed the ones that attach to the armrests are still there while the ones that are lodged in between seats have been removed. I've heard that people were caught stealing them. However, in the context that I was told that, it was around the time of the major high school tourney at the Ralph last season so I'm not sure how much truth there is to it.

Fabian wiffed on a few chances when he was in the lineup against CC. I am unsure of exactly how good he is because of such a limited look at him, but he has good size for a forward. His work ethic is good, but among freshman, JPar and Porter's work ethics outshine his. For DMen the for sures are: Jones, Schneider, Greene, Fuher, and Bina Most likely Smaby and Marvin will go. Pairings will most likely be: Jones-Greene Schneider-Bina Fuher-Smaby/Marvin But that could really change.

I think the reason why Smaby is a disappointment was alluded to earlier. We have such excellent defensive defensemen senior to him that he does look like the worst d-man on the ice at times. But here's the kicker: He'd be an every night starter on nearly every other team in the NCAAs. He's a rookiee. He even says he has a lot to learn. Also, remember Greene's freshman year? He had flashes of greatness too, but man was he always in the penalty box or what? He wasn't as effective as he is now. I have no doubt Smaby will come around. After all, if he needed too much more polish, the Sioux would have asked him to spend a year in Juniors and we would have brought in Beaverson instead. Oh yeah, people forgot quick that Smaby was an alternate for the World Juniors. With Marvin not looking so hot as a defenseman as of late, I'd like to actually see more of Smaby or at least give Foyt a chance.

either way, it virtually (pending a miracle), guarantees Hockey East one representative in the Frozen Four. I'm not saying they don't belong. I'm actually saying that is good because that means that ESPN is less likely to preempt the games
-
I thought that was NDSU's stance?

I agree with the meetings: Roger Thomas WILL meet with you. He met with me and I'm less than nobody in the scheme of things on this board or otherwise concerning the seating issue. This issue more directly involves the students, so it would be in his best interest. I'm not saying to give up on Kupchella, but I wouldn't put my hopes up about meeting with him. He told Pres Baker that he wanted our arena to sound more like Marriucci. I would have told Kupchella that I'll arrange for the Minnesota job application to arrive on his desk the next day. This is more than about profanity, it is about school pride. I have no ambition to be more like the University of Minnesota. It doesn't work like that and I was offended that he thought we should. <= What I'm saying is that, if you do meet with Pres Kupchella, I think it would be best if I was NOT there. I wish I had better access to those people who were a part of the Farce. I'm curious to know what sorts of chants they used and if any could be modified to be used today. Also, I think the general rule should be that if it is good enough to be said on the major TV stations (CBS, NBC, ABC, or Fox), it is good enough to be yelled out at the Ralph.

Good idea. Could the goalie coach be an assistant coach for the defense as well? Therefore expanding his responsibilities and making him more cost effective? Or at least give him another job with the team so that the expense is more justifiable. I don't know. Just rambling while half asleep and in pain.
-
I agree. However I make this stipulation I do not think twice when Hennan is over the PA during play as long as it is DIRECTLY applicable to the game going on, such as restating who scored. Advertisements could come between periods. Also, the Marquee boards should be majority student announcements like lyrics, chants, other scores in the WCHA, other scores from UND athletics, and graphics directly related to the game (such as GOAL!, or the Scoring info) And what was with the "Zac Attack Minot Swim Team" crap? Obviously Zac Attack isn't Parise.

There are plenty of possibilities with this situation, some of them don't make sense to me, but it is a possibility. One idea I came up with is that they are saving Brandt for the do-or-die games, such as the Wisco series, the UMD series, and the playoffs. That doesn't make much sense to me, but it is a possibility. Another thing is that MNS is totally correct. JPar hasn't truly shown that he is a poor choice. He does have faults but there are some things I believe that JPar is superior to Brandt at like pokechecking and stickhandling. JPar is more aggressive than Brandt is, which is both a hinderance and an advantage for him. Brandt does go down too quickly, but I really think Brandt has a tendency to be a better goalie at positioning than JPar. Another thing: WHen Brandt is off his game, he's off his game for the entire game or nearly so. JPar has been off for a period or two in a game and then played spectacularly afterwards. This opinion matters little if the offense and defense aren't doing their jobs, but it is something I noticed. JPar's outlet passing alone is spectacular folks. Especially when he's passing to younger brother. I still wish he stayed home more. I'm sure Brandt won't be wandering much after Wisconsin. I'd say that next year we'll have 4 goalies. The question is, will Ziggy stick around if he isn't on scholarship? THat, to me, is the only thing that Ziggy faces this off season. It isn't bad since we'd only have 4 goalies for 1 season (unless Blais does something dumb and recruits a goalie for 2005).

There are some goaltenders available thanks to retirement: Fuhr, Barrasso, Hackett, and Vanbiesbrouck to name a few.... not that any would come here, but it is a possibility.

I'll probably go to the games this weekend. I haven't gone to a game since the UConn fiasco. Do we still have to go to the ticket window?
