Not horrendous goaltending on Minnesota's part. Look at the 2nd period Gophers and the 3rd period/OT Gophers. No defense and no urgency... They did rush the net in the 3rd period. Stevens scores and they all just coast thinking victory. UAA could have won it, but so could have the Gophers. I'm saying that Gopher fans lucked out at the tie. They should have won with a Guyer empty netter. John Hill is ecstatic. Stuchlik will surely be the WCHA Offensive player of the week. Maybe the USCHO Offensive POTY.

I'll stand by my prediction too. CC beat us by pounding in the few mistakes we made. Otherwise, we pretty much dominated play. If nothing else, we did skate well with DU and CC as well. With that in mind, and if Murray is back and stays healthy, yes, we'll sweep.

I've only sporatically viewed POI and, from what I saw, there were a few Gopher posters there that were decent. Of course, most of them already post here, but... In any case, I think I recall flamefests going on there Gopher fan vs. Gopher fan if one fan were to disagree with or say something about a senior poster's favorite Gopher player or recruit. I mean, if I were to go on the site and say "Mike Howe's freshman campaign is disappointing compared to other USHL scoring champs" even if I were a Gopher fan, I'm pretty sure I'd get a fair smattering of flames. Just think if I came aboard and said "Kris Chucko is a hack." In any case, too bad it's gone, but respectable Gopher fans can still recieve insight on the game of hockey here and talk within reason and context about their team. I mean, with UMN's recent skid, I thin we both have a lot in common now.

If SCSU is going to make a run at anything resembling a title, then Dahl's best kept busy packing his belongings. NO WAY will SCSU truly compete in the NCAA level with Dahl as head coach. No way.

I wonder what symbol they'd go by? But still, it's nice that the game is going to go on despite the loss of the message board.

You're letting him get to you. Anyways, our incoming defensemen are young. However our incoming defensemen are incredibly talented. The tough part is going to be the first part of next season when they are adapting to the pace of the game. It's going to be rough. However, that being said, I think we're going to end up doing just fine. Lee, Chorney, and Jones are going to be fine defensemen. Watkins, Kozek, and Toews will be fine additions to the offense. I think we'll be fine. Remember: Blais barely made .500 hockey his first two seasons but then went 31-10 in his third season and won a championship. By this comparison, Hakstol is already doing better. I think UND has a very bright future.

A valid enough shot. There is plenty of room for doubt right now as far as the Sioux are concerned. I just don't think SCSU can beat anyone right now. And we didn't lose to BSU. Also, BSU is the top ranked team in the CHA. For that matter, Canisius was the top ranked team in the AHA at the time we played them. Both don't mean much, I know, but it's true.

I was surprised to see Grand Forks as #1 over Boston. I would have thought Boston would be #1 for the reasons the article mentioned. I mean, all those college hockey venues in town... Yeah, it's Hockey Least or EZACHLSMFT, but... well... it's hockey at least.

Give Zelkin time. Once he's worked over by Daddy dumb@$$ and his thugs, he'll either quit and get a job in the pros or come around to their way of thinking. EDIT: You know Daddy's gettin up in years. How much you want to bet that, when he retires, Derek takes over? I doubt I'd get any takers.

How do you figure we will do that? Sweep UW, lose both to UAA? Split SCSU? NDSU's club team could beat SCSU right now! NO WAY we will get any less than 4 points that weekend. At worst, split with UAA, Swept by UW, sweep SCSU. Bar minimum 3 games won out of six. Best case for me is sweep UAA and SCSU, split UW.

I enjoy posts like Sioux-per's. Team has lost some close games and also made some bad decisions and suddenly, whoops! Fire him. Good thing people like that don't run Bellichek's life. Anyone remember that? Oh. Yeah. He started in Cleveland I think? And now he's won 4 super bowls. God how did that happen? Bellichek SUCKED in his first year as a head coach! Things like that just don't happen. Hey, how about George Seifert? When he took over for Walsh, the Steve Young led 49ers went, what, 1-15? Why didn't they fire him? OH that's right. New coach, new system. Took them a year to adapt. And now Young is in the hall of fame. Ok ok. THat's football. How about hockey? 1967-68 season, St. Louis hired this Scotty Bowman guy. Gosh. They only went 23-21-14! Why didn't they fire him? I mean, they BARELY escaped 500 hockey! Not good enough? Ok, how about 4 time Stanley Cup winning coach Glenn Sather? Who was the idiot that decided to keep this idiot coach on board after his pathetic first season as ah ead coach of the Oilers? I mean, 28-39-13? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He sucks! That's why I like Sioux-per and BDB's logic. Hakstol, like Sather, Seifert, Bellichek, and Bowman, should have been fired after their first seasons as head coach. They are a disgrace for their sport and they should all be banished from our thoughts. Oh yeah, Dean Blais sucks too. He only was good enough to take a UND team to 18-18-3 his first year. Heck! He sucked his second year! 19-18-1! What the hell did we see in this guy? Who knows what Hakstol is going to turn out to be. But like hell am I going to say that he doesn't deserve the chance to get things going. He's done a pretty darn good job of recruiting so far, even when Blais has been Head Coach. Moral: Uh, if 3 years go by without results, THEN we START wondering how long Hakstol's job is going to last. This year and next year? Nope. Barring major catastrophe, BDB and SIouxper are just going to have to cry it out. END RANT

Yeah, I really think with McMahon and Murray back, we could get things back towards the right track. I only wish Kaip was healthy. I'm pretty much writing him off for the rest of the season. Most importantly though, we need Murray back healthy and to stay healthy.
