  1. Still, there are 13 teams whose owners I'd love to have endorse the deal... Maybe modify the deal so that those same teams are bought by that company so we can cut the trash from one side of the bargaining table.
  2. Rochester's coach was my freshman science teacher at Fargo South He ditched Fargo my sophomore year to take over in Rochester. Anyways, nice to hear Frutiger's name again, but he's not at Fargo South anymore so his name was with the team in the right location: the loser column In any case, I watched the OT of the T-G vs. Duluth Marshall game and, after the game, the three commentators talked about the upcoming matchup between DE and Moorhead. Two of the three didn't say much but the guy in the center basically inferred that he expects Duluth to win. He said about Moorhead something like: Moorhead has a good defense and basically one line. and Moorhead prides itself on its defense. Something like that. It's too bad that guy didn't realize that defense wins chapionships. I hope Deutz (or whomever is starting for Moorhead in goal) is ready for the game. Moorhead isn't a one line team, sorry. But even if they were, if their defense is stifling and their defense can score as well, who cares?

  4. How about Howdy Doody?
  5. What is this team discipline you are talking about, sagard? Earl, Licari, and Burish didn't seem to buy into it.
  6. I think Schneider didn't retaliate because: 1. It was a close game and he didn't want to be the cause of a PP goal. 2. He figured that, as a leader, the best retaliation is to keep Bucky from winning, even if it was only a tie. 3. Third time's a charm. 100 to 1 Campion would have called it.
  7. Yeah! We already throw our money away at the concession stands!

    Kessel

Yeah, it seems very Lindros-like to me... except Lindros didn't go to college. Come to think of it, I wonder if Eric could have maintained academic eligibility anyways. And yes, I am already tired about the Kessel hype. I mean, this is the biggest 2 year (maybe) committment to date!

    Hobey

He's got the feel good side of the Hobey (Playing through adversity). That's big time props. It could be the feel good kind of upset (Sigalet over Sertich) rather than the stats (Ryan Miller over Jeff Panzer).
  11. Did you see Schneider's elbowing a player to the head about a minute before the spear? The TV saw it. It happened along the boards just shy of the Sioux bench (probably aligned with the faceoff dot in the zone on that side of the ice). At least, his elbow was up and the UW player's head snapped good. It was retaliatory. Both Likari and Schneider should have been called really.
  12. Wow. With this scenario, I don't see any of the regionals as being any easier than the other.
  13. Interesting enough. 3points gave us confidence and might have helped our PWR rankings but they didn't help us in the rankings. USCHO still has us unranked and USA Today has us tied with Dartmouth for #15. That being said, I'm not so sure rankings matter. Do they?
  14. I think 9 wins, to tell the truth, is a spectacular record for a first year WCHA team regardless of gender. No, it's nothing to write home about regarding title hopes, but I think it really does prove that the coach is the right choice in getting things off the ground.
  15. Just a note about the spearing thing... I may have mentioned it before, but that spear should have evened it up for 2 minutes at four a side really. I noticed the nasty elbow Schneider gave a UW player in the corner. The ref didn't. The spear was retaliatory. Both penalties should have been called. Nevertheless, I think the UW player pulling down Porter in OT was the biggest missed call of the game.
  16. Has Moreland played at all? I've been keeping track of the Jets for a while and I've yet to see him register a single assist.
  17. Hmmmm Anyone want to talk about how overrated Jordan is now? In any case, he is the very reason we got 3 points this weekend. I think he deserves a ton of praise. Matt Greene had an excellent weekend as did Jonesy. TH and gang was ripping on Zajac and Stafford pregame because of their quiet performance as of late. Did they check the box scores? True, Zajac and Stafford failed to score a goal, but I thought they had two assists on Friday? Things must be rough if you set up two big goals and still get slighted for not contributing. Bad news on Genoway. Why can't we stay healthy. I was thinking, "Man, we should have no problem with St. Cloud this next week so we should just sit Brady assuming he's able to come back next week, and not risk injury." Now, I'm not so sure we can afford it. The injury sounds like some sort of deep bruise or sprain to me. Perhaps some severe muscle spasms. I've had bad lower back muscle spasms before and they are excrutiatingly painful. I couldn't move around at all for fear of the pain (didn't hurt that bad if I held still). Who knows what's going to happen now. But one thing is for certain: This weekend was BIG.
  18. I'm hoping you're right. I didn't see most of the game. I only was there from just before Fabian's goal to just after the 2nd period ended (had to go during the intermission show). But I'm tired of all this heaping on of Smaby. It's like he's the reason why we lose all of these games. I still think that Smaby is a great defenseman who is still young. Unlike Jones and Greene, Smaby came right out of high school. I think sometimes it shows, but I do not think he's the source of the problem. The Sicatoka I didn't change my post for Eskimo. I could care less what he thinks. I just changed it more as a jibe on Eskimo and to be sure that PCM knew I was kidding.
  19. Glad you clarified that. I was worried that there wasn't anyone on this board who can tell all of us what is funny and what isn't. I never mean to cause PCM any offense. It's a good thing that he has a watchdog screening the posts to be sure that he isn't in any way teased or addressed in a questionable manner. I'll change my post if it was in poor taste, but so far, Federov and Sicatoka see it as in a taste other than bad (they haven't voiced offense either). I'll make it clearer.
  20. Did PCM self advertise yet? (Eskimo says I might hurt PCM's feelings. So: Disclaimer: This question was not meant to insult, offend, or hurt PCM in any manner. Should PCM desire, I will alter this post in any way he wishes which would include altering, removing parts or all of the post.) If not, I'll just bring the news that PCM's written another good recap.
  21. This is more of what I was thinking as well. Radke had a very rough start to his DI career, which is why I understood where that other poster was coming from, but he was turning it around and gaining confidence. The last thing you'd want to do is to bench a player who is just coming into his own at the level. It could just reset all of the progress that he mae. I hope Radke remembers what good progress he's made this season thus far so that when he does reenter the lineup, he won't have to regain it all. And I definitely hope it isn't academic or other off ice issues.
  22. I understand why you'd see Radke as a disappointment. Radke has played sparingly for reasons unknown. He has had a shaky first half, but his second half was far better. Then, suddenly, he's pulled off the ice. So, yes, I could see how that is a disappointment, but Radke has been far from the worst player on the team. I feel that, once he's actually allowed to play more, Radke will turn it around and continue improving. No way will I give up on him. And Smaby's second half has been much better than his first as well. As for Kaip, uh, he didn't really have a chance to acclimate to the DI game before getting sidelined. I think he was living up to expectations. Rory didn't score a whole heckuvalot until his junior season. He had maybe 7 goals a season his first two years. If Kaip had played all of the games, I don't know how many goals he would have scored, but perhaps he would be somewhere around there? And besides, his forechecking was solid and he wasn't beaten very often. I actually think he would have been more effective as a checking forward than Fylling has been this year had he stayed healthy.
