Ok, I admit that there are more than just 2 or 3 that come on here that are the voice of reason. I used PCM's post because, even though I'm trying to be reasonable, his post was far more reasonable and much the same point that I was trying to make. I admit PCM's better with words than I am. Of course, I don't have to say it for everyone else to know that already. Sioux-Hab-it: I agree. Our upperclassmen have been disappointing and we've had some bad luck with injuries. That seems to have overshadowed the year Zajac and Spirko are having. Also, does anyone know the difference between the Sioux with Murray and without him? Despite last night's performance (or lack thereof) I thought Murray brought something to the game that we've been missing... Only problem is that he's a sophomore and not expected to be a leader. Zajac is an amazing player. And Toews will be a quality recruit. I know that Hakstol has some talent in recruiting. Just look at next year's class. Hab-It was right. Teams have down years. I seem to recall seeing preseason predictions of a UMD vs Maine NC game. Anyone else see that?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! At least there are 2 or 3 of us on here who actually have an inkling of what is happening and what Hakstol should deserve! As I mentioned before, Hakstol didn't have a whole lot of power recruiting when the current seniors were recruited. It was BLais who recruited these guys. Not all of the seniors are doing poorly, but not enough of them are leading. This is a HUGE HUGE issue. UMDDogz is correct. Our team, like the BUlldogs, looked a lot better on paper than in reality. I think there are many aspects of our team that IS good! However, we aren't getting it done on Saturdays as schmittdoggydog said. Also, Phil hasn't been playing too hot as of late. It looks like, yes, he's finally reverted back to being a freshman instead of a superhero. What does this mean for Phil? NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. He's developing fast, but the Sioux may be asking him to develop faster than he is capable and the pressure may have finally caught up with him. Mafiaman is correct. With the way the WCHA has gone this year, we are indeed a 500 team! We will only improve and we will not get worse. I promise you that. Life's going to be rough for a little while and we may not like the postseason very much, but next season, at the wrost case, could be better! Put it this way (and it was implied before): If Hakstol deserves to be fired, then so does Lucia and Sandelin. They've done just as poorly since January or longer.

Edited my last post. One thing I will say is that Supertrexx has not really been one of the finger pointers. I will say that Phil has apparently hit the wall, but it's not as bad as you think. He'll recover. I hope we can take 2 from UW. But that's all I can do is hope.

I think this is getting fun. I seem to recall that UAA is in the hunt for 5th place. They don't exactly suck... they did take 3 from Minnesota. But yeah, they still suck. We're better than them. We scored two goals. They scored 5. Those 5 goals don't mean anything. It only means that Hakstol sucks. That's the only thing it means.

And before all you blowhards start pissing and moaning, SCSU couldn't beat an egg right now! I don't care who or what SCSU did to CC! I'm guaranteeing right now we sweep SCSU. As PCM is dreading, UW series will be rough, but I'll be damned if we'll give a single point to SCSU!

Some of you "SIoux" fans suck. There. I said it. Some of you guys SUCK! Don't let the doors hit you in the posterior on YOUR way out! Bad seasons happen. New coaches happen. If there was no leeway for coaches then no one would coach! He has some talent, yes. But uh. Who recruited the seniors? Was it Hakstol? Was it Blais? If it was Blais then shouldn't you be cursing him too? Oh and another thing: I'm guessing that Hakstol was the reason why we've had so many injuries. Hakstol was the reason Bo and Zach left. Hakstol was the reason why UAA scored 5 goals tonight. Hakstol was the reason why Greene has had so many penalties. Hakstol was the reason why our offense is poor. Oh yeah, Hakstol is the reason why it gets to -1000 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter! Get real folks. THere's more than just coaching to winning a game! And, from what I gathered, UAA scored the winning goals 5x5? That doesn't sound undisciplined to me. UAA, from the sound of it was heavily penalized this game too. We dropped a game we should have won, sure, but there is more to a loss than just pinning it on the coach.
-
Ah, there's the naysayers. Ok, when Hakstol is fired and a new coach is hired, it will be new because Blais isn't coming back. That coach will be doubted and, when he does poorly fired. Hey, Notre Dame! Wait up dude! We can one up you for the worst coaching job! Just wait until these guys get through to you! Sorry. I won't write off Hakstol. I won't write off the Sioux. But I will write off all these chumps who cannot stand behind their team and yet call themselves Sioux fans.
-
Not writing off the season, but this game was just awful. We played better when we were swept by DU and CC.
-
It's hard to say this, but I can only describe this as a choke. Maybe we should have tied this game, maybe we should have won. But we definitely lost this game for very stupid reasons. UAA's 3rd period last night was played so well by UAA last night that the Sioux decided to copy it. A well deserved win by UAA and a well deserved loss by Sioux

UAA scores. 4-2 UAA. Game over.
-
Well. UAA scores. Now we're REALLY going to have to work
-
Could we have a few more whiffs? Maybe a dozen more posts?
-
This is very typical. 1 goal games are simply too tough to hold.
-
I never thought of it that way before. It's nice to have a person who has a broader view on the issue. Thanks PCM. Needless to say, you can't enforce anything with Greg in charge.
-
Yeah, you are right. Our PP exists! The question is: Do we have to have a down year in order for our powerplay to show up? I think Eades IS the major reason behind the improving of the powerplay. Now, I think the major issue is still offense, but also the first 2 minutes after we score we seem to let down. This is something we need to work on as well. A questino for all you coaching types is: How does one coach this issue?

You guys are just saying what I said warned when they revealed the program. The program idea itself is not bad, but it was poorly started. They SHOULD have made the first season free. That way they can gauge interest, get people hooked, and fix bugs without too much complaints. They can't do this now. Sure, they sold the packages, but now instead of happy customers, they have a bunch of jaded fans that still buy it for the love of the Sioux and not because they hold any positive thoughts about the program itself.

Hey, if Hakstol said it was a quality wom, then it was a quality wom! The Sioux played well for the first half of 1st and 2nd periods, let down at the end of the second and then picked it up again in the third. I would have loved to have actually seen Prpich and Murray's goals. I also would have liked to have seen the bounce that lead to Cartwright's goal. I'd like to have seen what TH called "out to lunch". Top players not mentioned: Jones had a solid night. JPar had a great 3rd period and had great saves the whole game. I heard Fabian's name a lot. Bottom players: Canady Yeah, he drew a penalty but he also committed a really stupid penalty. Luckily it didn't cost us. I'd expect Phil tommorrow. I just hope they don't lose intensity.

UW is stomping CC MSUM beat SCSU And DU is hurting from very inconsistent officiating. 4-2 on a Staufacher SHG.

The and generally mean sarcasm or kidding. In any case, I'm not taking much by it. I really believe Wilbon and Kornheiser of PTI. If these talks fail, they won't meat again until maybe August or September. And perhaps won't hash a deal out until January or there abouts.
