  1. I have no clue if this photo matches up with the painting, but it gives the roster, the box score, and the record of the Sioux that year. Hope this somewhat helps. EDIT: Interesting to note that we had four goaltenders and a ton of Assistant coaches (Blais, Marks, Eades).
  2. Alright, I'll give in to the predictions. I take it the matchups are: Minny vs Michigan UW vs MSU Correct? If so, Michigan wins tonight and faces UW where UW will win. In the "consolation" game (Minny vs MSU) Minny will win. On Monday, UW takes over #1, UMich to #2, UMinn stays where they are and MSU falls out of the rankings.
  3. Don't care about the dirty Gophers and could care less about the BADgers swim and diving team.
  4. I hate saying this, but "IF" is the major term in that sentence.
  5. On uscho.com, many of the posters there are predicting a sweep of Maine. I don't know if they were kidding around or if Maine's team isn't that good or if they see UND's team as truly one that is growing in competitiveness. Either way, I'll take the predictions and hope for the best! Sioux sweep! GO SIOUX LADIES!
  6. In case any of you get the Forum, there was a nice full page write up on High School hockey. I only glanced at Fargo South's so I didn't get a great look at it. I know it has all of the F-M area high schools including West Fargo and Moorhead boys and girls hockey. Not sure if it has anywhere else.
  7. We beat out BU for Finley and now BU returns the favor on Gryba.
  8. YAY!
  9. Ditto. I don't like how easy it is to butcher our name. Chimps? Impies? wImps? No, no thanks. I say see what Turtle Mountain says and, if they say yes, Fighting Ojibwe. If no, Hail Cavalry!!!!!
  10. Good thing I wasn't at the game! And, yeah, it was pathetic... but generally speaking, it is usually the team with the most goals at the conclusion of the game that wins.
  11. There is good in everything, Jim. For example, the "F#$% the NCAA" thread is gone now. Small bonus, but a bonus nonetheless.
  12. I wasn't there, but from what I gathered, Shanley had more goals at the end of regulation than Central did, hence the loss
  13. I knew about the other remedies part, but the rest answered my question. Thanks Sic.
  14. Those were the days.
  15. It is a delay tactic. They are trying to delay this until February. They'll reject the appeal, and by the time the third appeal can be levied, February 1st will pass before we could take them to court. So, my question is: What do we do then?
  16. Looking at those numbers, I find it kindof amazing that people care more about UND's community than Basketball and other sports Ok, it's amusing to me because I don't like basketball, but still....
  17. Yeah, in order to make room for Havlat. To make matters worse, Havlat comes in and scores 4 goals. Bo needs to start being as aggressive as he was in Binghampton last year and like he was with UND. I am not sure he'll get called up unless someone gets injured now.
  18. I've "attributed" to scouts? I suggest you read that McKeen's report again. Then reread my posts. I also said this word... "IF" when it comes to that trait. I never claimed that he was. IF he is defensively a liability, I would expect what I stated above. If he isn't then he isn't and I'm wrong. Don't jump all over me because I took the hypothetical path based upon the word of a person whose job is to evaluate players. That person may be wrong and so may I, but I never claimed it to be THE truth anyways.
  19. And breaking up a line that is working quite well is going to solve this problem? Last year Zajac and Stafford didn't have nearly the amount of responsibilities they have this year. Their play will pick up. It will just take time.
  20. I'm going to agree with GCWaters on this one, I'm afraid. I know both Chapman and Kupchella. I admire Kup for his fight of the nickname issue instead of turning turtle (which is what I expected him to do), but comparing personalities is a bit much. I don't pretend to know what the State Board thinks of either President, I can only speak about how they act towards me. Chapman- Nice guy. Seems interested but is ambitious. It is clear he wants to put NDSU on the map any way he can. He is extremely charitable and is well connected with the Fargo community. Him and his wife donate all of the food to my church every Passover for the community seder (we're a group of MAYBE 40-60 families in a church who finished in the black by a whopping $67 last year so this is a real big deal to us) including all of the equipment needed to serve the dinner (sternos etc.). I hold Chapman in high esteem despite the fact that I don't hold the same for NDSU athletics. Kupchella- Devious. Sneaky. Brilliant business sense. He's VERY smart but he is not very personable. He's done a few things in the Grand Forks community that has not made him too popular. He's been known to make decisions that were just flat out insulting towards the student populace (including lamenting at one time to the student body president why UND fans couldn't be more like Minnesota fans). He's just as ambitious as Chapman but without the veil put over it that makes people think he cares. Kupchella and Chapman are pretty evenly matched in terms of the fundamentals of University Presidency but if I had to choose one or the other to invite to a function, I would invite Chapman over Kupchella.
  21. Ditto.
  22. How about not Prpich? The first line is a scoring line and I don't see Prpich as an offensive threat? How about Duncan? He's done well in Spirko's absence. Watkins is alright but I'd like to see more of Kozek. What can he do?
  23. Yeah, I understand.

    UND vs USD

You know, I actually think this is going to come down to which team can crack the other's defense first without making many mistakes. This means it will be a game of who can get the most first downs and the least turnovers. Belmore will be the key this week for UND barring a total defensive meltdown. Our defense will put us in position to win this game. Whether or not we win depends on our offense and Belmore.
  25. There are other options for flights but, to do so, means you'd have to fly into either Winipeg (customs, yuck!) or Fargo (don't rent a car from a company that charges by the mile!). Fargo gets United and NWA so you could go through Minny or Chicago O'Hare, but your best bet is NWA and just plan on plain old bad service at an exorbantent price. I'd second the Holiday Inn vote. They run a decent ship there.
