It clearly was scored by him. I sat and watched the puck go off the backhand of his stick and in. It's either that or Manny Fernandez took his glove hand and pushed the puck into the net from just outside his own crease. It was a nice goal.

I thought it was mentioned somewhere about Fredheim, a defenseman out of the BCHL who was drafted recently being somewhere on the radar to watch. Well, he committed to CC.

Congrats Jordy! I don't recall the specifics regarding what people thought when Jordy first committed to UND, but I had thought that he hadn't exactly been a poor goaltender in USHL. Regardless of his USHL career, I doubt anyone out there (including other teams) would mind a tender like JPar on their team.

Personally (and you Gopher fans can take this as a dig if you wish), I'm happy Minny beat Cornell and Maine. It made our trip to the NC game much easier . Truthfully, the Maine game was an amazing game (I didn't get to watch the Cornell game). I think Cornell's whining coach is enough for me not to even give them the benefit of the doubt.

On the same token, their team offense isn't really all that hot...

roper- Last year our best faceoff man was our 3rd liner (McMahon)

You need to find more Gopher homers if you are going to try to do this, WPoS. I don't think Greyeagle and Cardinal have any problems with selecting players from other teams that could earn them fantasy points. You should probably go ask TC Transplant or Happy to be in your league

Being one of those who was critical of Jones I feel I must clarify. I never questioned his defensive play. I think he will be a solid defensive defenseman. However, the only thing I thought was rather down about his game was his tendency to take penalties. He could be leading the team in PIMs already. Not something we need right now. JPar is too old for the draft. Unlike CSTV's reporters, we actually know that he's older than Zach (2 years older perhaps?). It's not uncommon for NHL teams to draft an older than average player in the late rounds (Brian Salcido of CC is an example of this in the 2005 draft), but it is very unlikely to happen with a goaltender. HOWEVER-- this isn't to say that JPar didn't impress pro scouts. What could be interesting is what happens after JPar's senior year. There could be a frenzy for an NHL team to sign him. With the way he has played the past few years in clutch and playoff situations, there is a REMOTE chance that an NHL team could make a play to woo him this off season, but like I said, this is a remote possibility. Goaltenders, so I've heard, take a long time to develop so it is very rare that they'd try to convince on who went undrafted to leave early. Ryan Miller and Rick DiPietro were drafted very high, so he left. Ed Belfour is the only undrafted goaltender I can remember who was convinced to sign with an NHL team early.

With the NCAA, the actions of your players speak less than the writing on the jersey. So don't expect the NCAA to look to Mankato as "hostile and abusive." In fact, since they did drop the nickname entirely, I'd see the NCAA making an example of progress away from it.

Elsesite, UNH fans explained that they stick salute after every series, win, lose, or tie to thank the fans, the opponent, and all that stuff. I don't claim to understand it.

Don't know who to root for with the World Series. Folks are from Chicago so I'll swallow my pride and root for the NOrth siders, though I'd really like the South side team to win it all.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, I missed all but the last few minutes of the second period. So, there won't be many critiques about all but the first UND goal and the tying UNH goal in my pseudo-pseudo recap. 1. Penalties: The Radke penalty really really hurt us, but from what TH said, the puck took an unfortunate bounce and Radke had to play the player not the puck. An unfortunate penalty but really, I'm not going to say this was as bad as last night. Toooooo many 5x3s. We HAVE to stay better disciplined. It was 8 to 4 UNH in PP opportunities. 2. Defense: In the first and third we did really well to defend our net. Chorney is a defensive MONSTER. Lee did alright. Finley had a better game yesterday than today, but that's ok. He's young. Radke had one miscue but really held us in the game late in the third. Smaby was silently effective. 3. Forwards: 2 goals from Stafford today. Zajac had a good night and so did Oshie, Toews, and Duncan. We seem to be repeating ourselves all the time. Kaip, Prpich, and Porter were solid as well. Fabian and the fourth line (Foyt-Watkins-Kozek) just chugged right along. They are doing quietly well, though I'd love to see Kozek more. I love the fact that we are rushing the net. However, we had a LOT of trouble with passing tonight, especially with bouncing pucks. It seemed we had more trouble with that than UNH did. 4. Goaltending: See PCM's take as USCHO's reporter. 5. Radio: I hate listening to the game on the radio. I wish I had webcast 6. I'm adding my personal three stars of the game. I'm not going to be a homer and only take the Sioux for every series. First Star: JPar (duh) Second Star: Drew Stafford (3 Goal weekend.. any assists?) Third Star: McFlickier and TJ Oshie. McFlickier was the only reason it was even close tonight and Oshie has really done what is needed to be done to get us off on the right foot every game. EDIT: Ok, so I am a homer.

It is said, so shall it be!
-
TH named JPar as the AG Edwards Money Player of the Game.
-
Morale booster? After all, the UNH radio guy and the Hockey East correspondant for USCHO both said we'd get swept easy.
-
JPar is going to be the Player of the Game. I wonder if he'll get any USCHO or WCHA accolades.
-
Great save by JPar. Penalties on McFlickier and Porter. 4x4 for the last few ticks. EDIT: I guess it isn't McFlickier? I'm confused. I know it is Porter in the box. And there is a UNH in the box. Nevermind. 3-3 Tie. SIOUX TAKE 3 out of 4 POINTS!!! GOOD JOB SIOUX!
-
A good scoring op in OT, good save. Kaip gets a good op, too high. UNH on a rush..........................
-
OT Let's go for the win, boys! A tie is ok, but a loss would really sting.
-
No. I was thinking that a PP was JUST what UNH needed. Luckily, I was wrong. Bouncing pucks are KILLING us.
-
Killed the penalty. Prpich is smarting though. leg.
