  1. Congrats to Central and more importantly Tony Bina. Central was down in talent this year, but he took what he had and did the best he could. He got his team together and playing their best hockey at the right time of the year. Congrats to Central and Tony Bina for taking home the 3rd place trophy this season.
  2. Dave K--get real. honestly. we all know that Fargo hockey has a long way to go to catching the status of Grand Forks hockey. I know South has a great team this year, i was happy they beat Moorhead. I think right now South has a very good chance of taking home that state title. But a bunch down the road, are you kidding me. Take a look at last years youth teams. Grand Forks Pee Wee A's went 42-0 and won the state tourney. Grand Forks Bantam A Wheatkings took home ANOTHER state title. This year Grand Forks' Bantam A teams are 5-0 and 4-1 in conference play, with that lone loss coming when the two teams played each other. So far looks like Grand Forks will take home another Bantam state title, what is that like 19 of the last 20? The Pee Wee A's from Grand Forks are 6-0 and 4-0 in the conference. Maybe another undefeated season? I dont know but i would say a state championship for a Grand Forks Pee Wee team looks ver very possible. Face it Dave K---Grand Forks kid dont know how to lose. I cant remember a Grand Forks team at any level (Pee Wee A, Bantam A, Highschool) to ever have a losing record. Most of these highschool kids have never lost more than 10 games a year. And i know you dont want to hear this, but Grand Forks kids love playing Fargo because they know have a great shot a beating them, and even more in post season action because Fargo usually folds under pressure. Take last year, Red River lost all year to South then completely dominated them in the State Tourney. Well i will wait for your reply---
  3. Specifics- Please don't ever say Fargo will be the Grand Forks of old, because there is no way that will happen. Grand Forks is and has always been hockey town, nd. That is almost a disgrace to North Dakota hockey to say that Fargo will pass Grand Forks.
  4. does anyone remember what happend to this kid. He signed a LOI to play here in the late 90's but he never came. He was only about 5'6'' tall and could score. Just wondring if anyone knows why he didnt come here. He played for Fort Saskatechwan of the AJHL.
  5. Specifics-there is a reason they dont give the best team in the regular season the title. thats why they have playoffs and thats why RR was "the best team in the State last year". No if and or buts about it......RR proved they were the better team and have a better tradition than South.
  6. Who have the been the top forwards on Great Plains so far? How are the ND boys doing in terms of points?
  7. Lets hear a scouting report on the Riders and Knights and North
  8. THIS JUST IN......................... RED RIVER DEFEATS CENTRAL 3-0 TO WIN 2005 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
  9. Does anyone know what Kyle Hardick's plans are for this year? is he going back to lincoln?
  10. lets hear about kids that graduated who will be continuing their hockey careers this year. I know Marto will play for Omaha(USHL) but other than that i havent really heard of anyone. I would be surprised if someone from that Red River team, who had that great group of seniors, didnt move on to the junior ranks, but then again they didnt really have a standout player.
  11. thats makes a lot of sense. Grand Forks dominates hockey at every level.
  12. just remember this familiar headline in the GF Herald EAST BEATS WEST! it will be no different this year
  13. Well its July and the season is getting closer. Lets start talking about the upcoming highschool season. What will the story lines be this year? Probably another all Grand Forks final, because simply put....Grand Forks dominates highschool hockey.
  14. Congrats to UND on getting an unbelievable hockey player in Jake Marto. I believe he will be a top notch player at the collegiate level. We all know he is a great player but he is an even better person. One of the nicest kids you will ever meet and is the farthest thing from being cocky. Also the kid is a helluva student.
