Fair enough. I clarified in my post just before this... it's not the "Hawks Only" group.... it's an anti-Sioux forever group. Basically a group of people who rip on Sioux Forever people and call them dumb/idiots/etc. I've never seen what damage the "Sioux Forever" crowd does or ever has done. I've heard all the logic of why this group thinks the "Sioux Forever" crowd is hurting UND, but can never get anyone to show me a lick of proof about it. In the end, I think long term it'll just fade away and people will just let FH be the name and embrace it. The crowd that shouts at the "Sioux Forever" crowd for being idiots only causes those idiots to dig in deeper.

We've gone over this before, man. You're screaming into the wind. NO ONE disagrees with this. This is part of what is causing the divisiveness. Some people think the ones that don't like the name are all clumped into this group that have the fantasy that the Sioux name is coming back. This is NOT the case. The largest part of this crowd consists of people who just don't like the name/love Sioux too much to let it go and choose to avoid buying Hawks gear. The group of "it's the reality, get over it" constantly barrages the "Sioux Forever" crowd. Remember ... the middle is where most lie. I was here back then, too. It's basically the same LOL.

It's not just him, it's the stuff he just said. Pointing at the other guy of the "aisle" and saying, you're wrong and you're dumb. If we all just settle the eff down and let each other have a flipping opinion, we'd all be better off. It's the constant polarization of the "Sioux Forever" and the "Hawks Only" groups that causes pain.

Fair point, Sic. We'll see. With that said, I am supremely confident of the D in front of him. I am expecting DeRidder to be a very, very good addition.

What's unproven about him? That he hasn't played at UND? The Big 10 is a mediocre defensive conference, but a solid offensive one. His numbers are pretty good playing against teams that are absolutely gunning night in and night out. Again, I know for a fact he's never played behind a defense he is going to play behind this season. There's been nothing to indicate he can't be a solid, solid tendy for UND.

DeRidder is very much a proven goaltender. Kid has seen A LOT of rubber in his NCAA career. He will also have the best defense he's ever had in front of him. Feels like he's even more proven than Cam was in 2016. He was the supposed Achilles heel that year, too.

Yep, yep. And for context, since 2000-2001, we've had: 3 captains -- 9 times 4 captains -- 9 times 5 -- 3 times 6 - 1 time (2016) Definitely not uncommon anymore to have more than 3.

We had five last year? Senden - C, Frisch - A, Sandy - A, Hain - A .... who am I missing? EDIT: Started with Jasper.... and added Ford when Hainer went down. Also, in 2016, we had SIX letters, not five, so I think your premise is spot on, Siouxforce. I don't see it as a problem whatsoever.

2016 worked out ok. I don't see why it's a bad thing. Frankly, I think they could have had two more, if they wanted, in Jammer and Kleven.

I know they just got their whole team there this week. Well, about 10 days ago, so it's still a lot of juggling. I'll see what I can find out. EDIT: Apparently not a lot of on ice this week as they are doing off-ice testing, Ironman stuff this week.

Was told today that we'll get captains next week. They haven't voted yet.
