Call me crazy, I'd NOT be upset if that's the case. Not sure I want a player who needs a seven-figure college contract to play at our school lol. Hard to knock the kid, but that is insane.
-
I mean, I guess he could be lying to me, but direct from the horses mouth lol.

I think Zellers has one more year left of WJC eligibility, does he not? I'd think Spunar is much higher than an outside chance. He'd be on the short list, IMO.

Ryan Duncan never made the the NHL, but was making over a million a year with Salsburg his last several seasons. Regardless it's the AHL, NHL, or Europe, who are we as fans to say that this should cause regret? The college game IS special, but if Liver is ready to play pro, which he is, why wouldn't he?
-
With which part? LOL

Duluth got bounced 😁

Well, of course WE think that staying at UND is better than AHL, but maybe it's not for the player. Hindsight is always 20/20 on this. Certainly not an invalid opinion, but it's literally a dream job for these kids, to play professional hockey. Feels unfair to say they will regret it. Not a big deal at all. The whole conversation feels gross to me as sometimes, not saying in this particular instance, that line about players "regretting" their move comes from a place of hostility towards their personal choice.
-
Those two statements don't seem to jibe. I happen to think Liver could absolutely fit into the pro game. Elite offensive ability in skating and vision, good shot, great awareness, and this season, he's truly become a defensive threat in terms of shutting players down. I think he's an NHL guy after a stint in the AHL. Substantial career? Maybe not. Kid certainly has his role. As far as regret goes, this gets said a lot around here about player regretting things. Hindsight is always 20/20. Even studs like Sandy say they should have stayed. With that said, should they? If they get a chance to play in the NHL right out of college, achieving their dream, who are we to say they should have regret? Get paid to play pro hockey in pro arenas in pro towns? Sign me up.

Juby is a very good hockey player and would be a Top 4 in most and Top 2 pairing at many, many schools. It comes down to playing time and we're LOADED at D. Also, we have some studs confirmed and a couple unconfirmed studs in our pipeline. Just the nature of the beast.

Can't have an "agent" but as others have said, a family advisor, everyone has one.
-
Absolutely. But, the last time I was told about who's leaving, these two were in the "highly likely" category.
-
Who? Just hang 9.

We'll definitely have some guys with decisions to make. My guess: Liver and Wiebe leave for pro contracts. Juby and Andrew portal. Everyone else stays.

Something would have to go real poorly for our favorite team to not break that record. -
Agreed and he's been really, really consistent.

I think Kernan and Ollie can slide into center, the other to the wing, I just don't know if they should. Klee had a real solid weekend.

Goodness, just read through this thread after last night.... Holy effing complaining. We won the dang game. This drivel is why most fanbases hate us. - KV has had a rough go of it, for sure. He's 17 years old in his first tournament game. If you can't understand that, you don't understand much about sports. Experience, especially when you are a literal CHILD mentally, is paramount. Only way to get there? By making mistakes. Jax did the right thing and he didn't play much down the stretch last night, but the kid is unbelievably talented - Strinden got hit in the wiener. I absolutely do not think of him as a kid that will take a dive. You could see it on his face on the bench. - Not our best game offensively, but I wholly disagree that we didn't play well in front of Spoons. The last 10 minutes were a clinic on keeping a team to the outside and keeping pucks from the slot For all the whining and moaning we did after last season, you think this place could enjoy a frickin' tournament win. Go get it done tomorrow, boys, so we can complain more... -
Honestly, this game has been hard to watch. So many flops after so many stupid hits/punches after the whistle. Charmin soft brand of hockey.

What a clown....
-
Meh. I get it. Their audience in general is not the same audience as we hope. College hockey is the smallest of blips in their world. It is what it is.

Just one section on McKenna. Did one of Zach Wisdom from Western, Rand Pecknold, Providence, and Michael Hage. Even talked about us for 5 seconds and Players to Watch included KV. It was pretty good.
