  1. We all wanted him to stay here. HE chose to leave because he feels he was ready. We'll find out.
  2. Final Central Scouting draft rankings has Spicer at 121. A sixth-rounder. What are we getting so upset about!? Again, he'll be a fine college player, but why are we so butthurt about this kid MAKING HIS OWN DECISION and leaving UND?? If he wasn't from Grand Forks, would we care?
  3. Senden was never going to be top 6. We are adding arguably the most prolific scoring recruiting class UND has ever seen in Blake, James, McLaughlin, and Strinden. Spicer was NEVER going to see top 6 minutes this year. I just don't think for a minute that Spicer would come in here and contribute much this season. Him not having a spot feels like a pretty clear indication of that. He hasn't scored much at all in recent years. Why would he do so stepping right into the NCHC at MAYBE fourth line minutes, if at all? What makes you think he will/would? Guess will find out soon enough.
  4. And I understand that conversation. I wasn't asking about that.
  5. I understand taking four years (potentially) of Spicer, but you would have taken one year of Spicer over one additional year of Senden and Hain? So, this coming season, for one year, you would rather have Spicer?
  6. Woulda been hard for Spicer to score this year from the bleachers. Hence why he chose to go elsewhere. #MoveOn
  7. I was just told about it, too. It's meh lol. I wish him luck. I bet we'll see a walk on player added.
  8. Totally understand and appreciate when a player "buys into himself", but this doesn't feel like that. Feels like flat out bad advice. Maybe someone told him to "stick to his guns" and maybe UND would bite. As I type more about this player, I just realize how dumb this is and how all done I am with it lol. Good luck Spicer.
  9. I understand the four year vs. one more year talk, but my goodness. Spicer CHOSE to leave UND because he is not good enough to be on the team this year. I don't get it. Crazy to me that people are ripping Sendo and Hain, two captains, for a guy who looks like he can't handle competition.
  10. So, that 2022-23 UND men's hockey team, eh? Amirite?
  11. "What is... all of it?, Alex" I fondly remember financial aid disbursement week during college.
  12. MacKinnon - CO Rantanen - CO Panarin - NYR McDavid - EDM Huberdeau - FLA Barkov - FLA Fox - NYR Makar - CO Ekblad - FLA Josi - NSH
  13. Ryder Donavan in the portal. Maybe he needed another year in junior?
  14. We'll take it!
  15. Absolutely. Gonna be a fun run.
  16. “Cody has grown from an offensively talented player, to a full 200-foot warrior that is strong in all areas of the ice. However, we’re most proud of Cody’s maturity into a Godly young man. He returned to Northstar this year with a goal of growing academically, athletically and spiritually and we believe Cody is ready to leave here and be a great leader.” GRINDA, but culture guy. I like it.
  17. I like this move a lot. Playing in a more offense-centric league with less grinding and hitting for a guy that needs a bit of space and time to score. But, when he gets it, he's pretty lethal. I bet he puts up really solid numbers next season. He'll play his way into an AHL contract and inflict pain on Minnesota and others we hate. Good for all parties . Cheers, Ashton. Good luck!
  18. Yep, I saw that. Well done! Makes me happy when you do. I understand you're a Grand Forker through and through, but he wasn't coming in this year. Dude made his own decision. Let him go....
  19. *** SPOILER *** He won't respond. Only way he was coming in was if we had to have him. We don't. He was going to be asked for one more year in junior either way.
  20. Feeney is in the portal. Sounds like he didn't want to be the No. 3/4 this year. Not much to see here, but good luck to you Mr. FEEEEENAAAAYYYYY!
  21. Oh, we definitely want him. I appreciate your admiration of me. It's good to have a fan.
  22. Yep. Good kid and seems like he was well-liked in the locker room. Has a lot of skill, too. Just couldn't be consistent with his lack of size. Wishing him the best, for sure.
